    My Skin Before Accutane

So This is basicly my skin, its hard to see my spots but because the camera is fogiving lol. i have 2-3 cystic acne in my face in the moment. I want clear skin so bad but imma keep my head up, take accutane and try. i know its hard to have acne and i get comments about it from time to time and its irritating. Thanks for the support and any info about accutane is much appreciatied THANKS GUYS and to my fellow acne sufferer's GOOD LUCK
  2. Lips: Aquaphor. Just like so many others agree it's the best!! When I got my last tattoo it was recommended and I've since used it on my elbows, feet, and cuticles, never thought to put it on my lips but it feels awesome and seems to be doing its job for now anyway. **Just discovered Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lip Balm! I'm in love!! I have been obsessed with their moisturizer and this smells just like it and feels amazing! Body Moisturizer: Johnson & Johnson cocoa and shea butter baby o
  3. To start off, I am going to try and start posting once a month at least, hopefully, more often than that. As for the update on my skin, it hasn't been the best few days. I think that is because I have run out of acidophilus that I pair with spiro, and my skin is not liking that. I forgot to call in the refill before the weekend. As a result of that, I have a few new spots on my cheek that are honestly really bothering me. I can't feel them, but my skin was looking good before this. It might also

How I Cleared My Acne! My Regimen!

So a bit of background... I have had acne since I was about 12 and typically throughout school products didnt really work for me until I tried Proactiv. But over time, obviously this product isnt very cost effective and it was ruining all my towels! I always wanted skin that was beautiful and clear and easy to manage! So I tried every natural way of trying to get rid of it. I dont have overly oily skin or really dry skin, but I get all those little bumps on my forehead, big red pimples on my ch

    Like a Desert

I am just past week 3 and my lips are officially feeling the full side affects of accutane. They are constantly peeling and hurt. I can't really eat anything acidic because it hurts. Even applying aquaphor every 30 minutes isn't seeming to help anymore. I was before too. I am currently awaiting my order of Dr. Dan's Cortibalm. I've heard great things about it and am hoping that that in combination with aquaphor will help! Other than that, my skin has been flaky, but I've been layering lotions

    Day Two: Skincare

Day Two of my skincare routine: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (morning and night) Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid toner (morning and night) Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (morning and night, depending on daytime schedule) I love this gentle skin cleanser guys. if you've ever tried high-end cleansing milks, this is highly comparable. So as an update from yesterday, my skin is feeling so much less tight and the peeling seems to be almost gone completely (after a whole week). I washe
  7. My Accutane journey so far has been a positive one due to the great products I've been using. Except for my poor dried out little eyes, no drop I could find would work… When you first get on Accutane, get yourself in a routine – wash & moisturize your face and lotion up every morning & evening. I seriously didn’t suffer the dry flakey-ness like most people on Accutane. I watched all You-Tube videos and the common thing was they wished they started moisturizing before the dryness came. DO

    Tretinoin Cream 0.025

First is first, my skin is not that bad. Like, yeah my skin isn't good, but it is 'bad' its oily, it breaks out on my T zone, and its oily, very oily, and blackheads...smh. My doctor gave me tretinoin cream 0.025 and I decided to research on it. I stumbled upon this site and read some people reviews on it. All of them said, THEY BROKE OUT SO BAD. So now im scared to use this. Im in 9th grade at high school, <----nuff said. I mean, I don't like to look in the mirror in general, and my skin is
  9. Hi, I am new on here and with posting in general. I figured I'd just share something I tried recently that I don't see has been written about much so I thought to recommend others to consider trying what had recently helped me primarily with cystic acne but also moderate acne from hormone changes due to significant stress and just getting older, Im 33. My face would just start to itch before a break out and all this acne consistency is new to me (past year) and I am the type to research and tr

    Products&Pills

so I've recently gone to the doctors and was put on a medication called isotretinoin 10mg, it's really helped and it also I've changed my skincare routine so it's less drying and more hydrating, it has seemed to work and my skin is clearer than ever before literally, i'm enjoying this and the fact that I can eat almost anything except milk and still have clear skin cause the pill I've been prescribed is amazing. day 1 - 25 accutane

I have had acne since age 10! It is mainly hormonal and oily spots. I basically been on anti-biotic for 6 year trying to treat it but its persistent! My acne compared to some cases ive seen is mild. I have lots of little pimps on my forehead, cheeks, and breakout regularly in some puss spots but no cysts etc. However i thought i'd grow out of acne but 8 years on it's still persistent! I always denied accutane as i was young and didn't want to deal with the side effects like dry skin and mood swi

    A Tough Journey...

Hi guys! I'm Alex and I'm a freshman in college. I would really appreciate if you could dedicate a few minutes to reading my story and, hopefully, learn from my mistakes and achievements. I'm now 18 and have had skin problems since I was 16. I started seeing the first pimples over Christmas break of my Junior year in high school. Like most people used to having perfect skin, I immediately ran to the store and bought cleansers, exfoliators, oil control lotions, etc. Thinking I knew it al

    First Entry - Day 19

Okay so this is my first ever blog on here, I started taking accutane 20mg a day 19 days ago and want to share my experiences on the drug. So here goes... My skin had been slowly improving ever since day one. I thought I was one of the lucky few who only ever improve on accutane and skip the whole IB phase.. but no I got my first horrific breakout yesterday morning when I woke up (day 18). I now have three active pimples on my forehead, one on my nose and a few (I gave up counting after 11.

    Progress progress progress

I am nearly done with my first 30 days of accutane! I went to the dermatologist for my monthly check up and she said she was amazed at how well I was doing. That made me feel so good, because I really wasn't sure if that was the case never having been on the drug before. Aside from some red hyper pigmentation, and some dry scabs on my face from old acne, I only one blemish right now. It doesn't look as good as it is simply because my face is so red, but I can feel a huge difference running my fi
  15. For anyone who might follow this blog, sorry that I’m a day late on this update. Life has been more than crazy lately. I’ve had a lot of stress in my family with my father who suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis and also, lately, a very good friend of mine was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia – Acute Monocytic Leukemia. It’s been very difficult and stressful, but these hard times will pass eventually, I am sure of it. Update skin wise – my hands and around my elbows are just really dry.

    The Best Products

Hello beauties! I just recently wrote an incredibly lengthy blog explaining my acne journey, in which I included some regimens and products that really worked for me. However I realize probably no one wants to read an essay about my life, so here's a shorter version of products that have really worked and didn't work for me. Good cleansers: Skin essence - pure: A cleanser made up of different healing oils made specifically for the face. This is the only cleanser that has really helpe
  17. Hello hello, It has been well over a month since my last post. I think as the tablets become a daily routine and as your skin starts to clear up, you just seem to forget how big of a deal it was when starting on them and therefore forget to update! So lets just recap... Month 1 I was on 20mg a day - had a horrendous breakout (worst I've very had in my life) Month 2 I was upped to 30mg a day - Breakout continued and was not seeing much improvement. I was almost givi

    The Accutane "hoops"

Where I live, there are very few doctors that will prescribe accutane. I made my appointment, and of course they initially tried to talk me into another random cleansers/topical/antibiotic. I was prepared this time around with a dermatologist and had armed myself with a list I compiled of ALL things I had done for my acne over the last decade. I was given instructions on what had to be done prior to beginning accutane and off I went. After acquiring hormonal birth control, I was entered into

    Day 13

Hey everyone, i haven't posted for a while, just because there hasn't been a great deal to say. Things have improved since my last (depressing) post, mood wise, not skin wise! My skin is still pretty horrendous, but i am trying to just get on with and not have a breakdown over it. I had weird/ blurred vision for a couple of days but that seems to of subsided now. My lips haven't got dry or chapped yet (hurrah) but they do feel tight whenever my lip balm has worn off. I think because i had read s

Week 1 - nothing so far

End of day 6 on myorisan. Dosage: Derm wanted me to start with full dosage of 80mg. After reading blogs and research articles, I got too worried about the initial breakout, which most sources say can be diminished by starting at lower dose. So I decided to just do 40mg per day and will decide as I go if I want to increase to 80 mg at 2 or 4 weeks. I weigh 67kg by the way, so 40mg would be about .5mg/kg which is the recommended starting dose. Side effects: No side effects so far as I ca

    The Regimen And Acne Products

Ok, so this is a list of the products that have been super effective for me. I use acne.org's cleanser, followed by the treatment of the same brand, then the moisturizer. After the moisturizer, I either use the AHA or bio oil (purcillin oil). I do this morning and night. In the middle of the afternoon, when my face tends to get greasy and yucky, I use a homemade astringent (I just call it a toner). It consists of 1 part APPLE CIDER vinegar, 2 parts cooled green tea, and 1 teaspoon lemon juice.

    Welcome!

Ok- I am going to try and write in this blog every night to update my progress. PLEASE comment and respond in some way because I do not want to be alone in this- I want to make friends to keep me motivated! Problem areas- my temples and cheekbones are really bad, I also have A TON of white bumps on my chin that have been there FOREVER I am going to start my routine on Friday, July 22. Morning- I wake up and wash and dry my face with water. When getting ready for the day, I apply minimal f
  24. First day ever taking Oratane (Accutane). I took Accutane when I lived at home in Canada, but had to come off of it because I couldn't meet the blood test dates due to moving to Australia. Now, I'm back on their version of Accutane, so we'll see where this goes! While on Accutane, I had some progress. I wasn't on it for very long, and I did have the side effects of severe dry lips and flaky, dry facial skin. My hands were moderately dry, but I didn't notice any other side effects besides th

    DAY 2

So it's the evening of day 2. I've taken my third tablet about two hours ago, but because I take them so late I'm writing on this kind of a day later so I can give myself the full time to record! sorry if that's confusing haha Last night I took my second pill of Roaccutane (20mg). After a while I got an extremely sore throat (I presume a side effect!) and by the time I was going to bed I was exhausted and very lethargic. I woke up today with this horrible spot on my cheek! It's one of those
