  1. First is first, my skin is not that bad. Like, yeah my skin isn't good, but it is 'bad' its oily, it breaks out on my T zone, and its oily, very oily, and blackheads...smh. My doctor gave me tretinoin cream 0.025 and I decided to research on it. I stumbled upon this site and read some people reviews on it. All of them said, THEY BROKE OUT SO BAD. So now im scared to use this. Im in 9th grade at high school, <----nuff said. I mean, I don't like to look in the mirror in general, and my skin is
  2. Hey guys, I just wanted to post something different on this forum. I have suffered with acne for 6 years, I have literally tried everything possible and through those six years I have experienced an array of emotions. I have been angry, sad, lonely, depressed, and insecure. I'm not going to tell you that I am at my optimum confidence level or that I even love myself now or more. It seems like people promote that they love themselves after they make their flaws disappear, but that's not always
  3. Hi everyone, I need help. I still get pimples here and there but not what I used to get. I don't know if I should start the acne org regimen, because what I mostly suffer from is scars. I just ordered the aha +glycolic acid to add in my routine to help with scarring seeing that is my main product. I don't want to start the benzoyl peroxide because my skin is sensitive and I know it is very drying! Ugh, I'm unsure of what to do! Should I just get the glycolic acid wash to incorporate into my rout

    Products&Pills

so I've recently gone to the doctors and was put on a medication called isotretinoin 10mg, it's really helped and it also I've changed my skincare routine so it's less drying and more hydrating, it has seemed to work and my skin is clearer than ever before literally, i'm enjoying this and the fact that I can eat almost anything except milk and still have clear skin cause the pill I've been prescribed is amazing. LIst of products: ST.IVES Even & Bright pink lemon & mandarin orange sc
  5. To start off, I am going to try and start posting once a month at least, hopefully, more often than that. As for the update on my skin, it hasn't been the best few days. I think that is because I have run out of acidophilus that I pair with spiro, and my skin is not liking that. I forgot to call in the refill before the weekend. As a result of that, I have a few new spots on my cheek that are honestly really bothering me. I can't feel them, but my skin was looking good before this. It might also

    Day Two: Skincare

Day Two of my skincare routine: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (morning and night) Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid toner (morning and night) Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (morning and night, depending on daytime schedule) I love this gentle skin cleanser guys. if you've ever tried high-end cleansing milks, this is highly comparable. So as an update from yesterday, my skin is feeling so much less tight and the peeling seems to be almost gone completely (after a whole week). I washe
  7. I am just past week 3 and my lips are officially feeling the full side affects of accutane. They are constantly peeling and hurt. I can't really eat anything acidic because it hurts. Even applying aquaphor every 30 minutes isn't seeming to help anymore. I was before too. I am currently awaiting my order of Dr. Dan's Cortibalm. I've heard great things about it and am hoping that that in combination with aquaphor will help! Other than that, my skin has been flaky, but I've been layering lotions
  8. My Accutane journey so far has been a positive one due to the great products I've been using. Except for my poor dried out little eyes, no drop I could find would work… When you first get on Accutane, get yourself in a routine – wash & moisturize your face and lotion up every morning & evening. I seriously didn’t suffer the dry flakey-ness like most people on Accutane. I watched all You-Tube videos and the common thing was they wished they started moisturizing before the dryness came. DO
  9. So a bit of background... I have had acne since I was about 12 and typically throughout school products didnt really work for me until I tried Proactiv. But over time, obviously this product isnt very cost effective and it was ruining all my towels! I always wanted skin that was beautiful and clear and easy to manage! So I tried every natural way of trying to get rid of it. I dont have overly oily skin or really dry skin, but I get all those little bumps on my forehead, big red pimples on my ch

    day 1 - 25 accutane

I have had acne since age 10! It is mainly hormonal and oily spots. I basically been on anti-biotic for 6 year trying to treat it but its persistent! My acne compared to some cases ive seen is mild. I have lots of little pimps on my forehead, cheeks, and breakout regularly in some puss spots but no cysts etc. However i thought i'd grow out of acne but 8 years on it's still persistent! I always denied accutane as i was young and didn't want to deal with the side effects like dry skin and mood swi
  11. Hi, I am new on here and with posting in general. I figured I'd just share something I tried recently that I don't see has been written about much so I thought to recommend others to consider trying what had recently helped me primarily with cystic acne but also moderate acne from hormone changes due to significant stress and just getting older, Im 33. My face would just start to itch before a break out and all this acne consistency is new to me (past year) and I am the type to research and tr
  12. So This is basicly my skin, its hard to see my spots but because the camera is fogiving lol. i have 2-3 cystic acne in my face in the moment. I want clear skin so bad but imma keep my head up, take accutane and try. i know its hard to have acne and i get comments about it from time to time and its irritating. Thanks for the support and any info about accutane is much appreciatied THANKS GUYS and to my fellow acne sufferer's GOOD LUCK
  13. Lips: Aquaphor. Just like so many others agree it's the best!! When I got my last tattoo it was recommended and I've since used it on my elbows, feet, and cuticles, never thought to put it on my lips but it feels awesome and seems to be doing its job for now anyway. **Just discovered Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lip Balm! I'm in love!! I have been obsessed with their moisturizer and this smells just like it and feels amazing! Body Moisturizer: Johnson & Johnson cocoa and shea butter baby o
  14. Hello guys! So here's an idea. I think we should have a special topic dedicated to ways to cover up indented scars, either on a daily basis or for special occasions etc. I don't think this topic should be under Cosmetics & Grooming, because it easily gets lost there between all the topics related to acne only. I guess we all know that hiding acne and hiding scars are two different things and most people who suffer from scarring visit the Scar treatments subforum only. Also, covering up sca
  15. Ok so I am in the midst of crisis and any kind of help or ideas would help. So I am 39 and have always had a fairly good complexion. No major problems with acne, not even as a teenager. About 3 months ago I started getting this big deep, subcutaneous lumps. One or two at first. I kept to my rutine thinking it must just be almost that time of the month. Within a week or so of the first my entire right cheek was covered i cystic acne and a forehead full of big, fat whiteheads! I freak out, which p
  16. 17. Hello, I was wondering if it's okay to replace Dan's cleanser with Cetaphil's and Dan's moisturizer with Cerave's but still using Dan's treatment simultaneously? Please reply, help's appreciated!
  18. Hey everyone! I've finally reached that point where I can be *proud* of my complexion: acne-free and, not only that, but, GLOWING (*touches wood*)! So, I thought, hey, why not share what products I use and my skin-care regimen to a few people. Maybe it'll help you? I should start with how my skin looked previously and the severity of my acne. I had your usual teenage spots, 1-3 spots on my face at any time, both REALLY small and large (at one point, one spot was the size of a 5 pence coin!)
  19. Hi everyone, This is my first time writing on this website and I just wanted to get some feed back from the users. I'll start off by saying that I have struggled with acne for almost 10 years. I have used almost every over the counter medication, been to numerous dermatologists, spent weeks hiding in my room after acne peels, and as a last ditch effort to cure my acne started a cycle of Accutane. My acne is now at bay but I still get occasional breakouts around 'that time of the month' and al
  20. Hey, I start my first prescription of isotretinoin/accutane tomorrow and I'm wondering what the best skincare products are to use? I bought a Cetaphil moisturiser today, as well as a La Roche-Posay cleanser, lipbalm and moisturiser. Do people recommend getting a Cetaphil cleanser too? Possibly a body wash and body lotion? Everything else I have at the moment is scented and will be too harsh on my skin whilst on the meds. Any advice is really appreciated. Lizzie x
  21. Hello! I was hoping to get some ideas from others routines, so if you would be so kind as to tell me what you do in the AM and PM as far as skincare, that would be great. (: Morning: Cetaphil cleanser for all skin types Neutrogena moisture for combo skin Night: Neutrogena RapidClear oil eliminating cleanser (to remove makeup) Cetaphil cleanser for all skin types (to cleanse after makeup removal) Equate BP 2.5% treatment AcneFree Terminator 5% BP (for spot treatment on active blemishe

  23. Recently, a family member bought me Clean and Clear Advantage Oil Absorbing Cream Cleanser and Clean and Clear Morning Burst Fruit Infusions Reviving Cleanser as a gift. I had a bad experience in the past with Clean and Clear, because I used it about a year ago, my skin always burned and I had marks/rashes on parts of my face. I imagine that it was an allergic reaction. So I was a bit apprehensive when my family member bought this for me. But I didn't want to be rude and not use it. I used it, a
  24. I think the dry lips might have started this morning. I’ve been using my Aquaphor Healing Ointment everyday to try to stay ahead of the dry lips – I heard that sometimes that’s the worst part about the Accutane experience, so I’m trying to keep my lips as moist as possible to avoid the crazy dryness. But, I seem to have a lot of dryness in my throat. I feel like I have super bad breath too. Gross. Water is really my best friend right now. I stay up on my moisturizer too so my skin doesn’t dry o
