  1. Hi, so my dermatologist prescribed me "Oxiderm 10%" and recently, i tried googling what it is and what it does. There were few results and i found out that Oxiderm is another term for benzoyl peroxide, but i'm not sure if the article or post i read was legit. Do you know if Oxiderm is Benzoyl Peroxide? I couldn't ask my doctor bc i have to go to his clinic and set up an appointment, so... help? Thanks.
  2. I have been prescribed and using duac gel for a month now and i haven't been seeing much improvements in my skin. I still get breakouts and my acne still exists. Should i be more patient and stick with it for longer or should i ask my doctor for a different product? What are your experiences with it and how do i get the best results with it?
  3. Hey guys, I am on my second pack & second week of Ortho-Tri-Cyclen BC (brand name, not generic). Hm, well...the first month I seemed to do okay (not great, but not any worse or any better)--however, this could be b/c I was already on a different type of BC (Lutera) and it allowed for an easier transition, perhaps? Anyways, this second month...is either the same or worse. I have big cysts along my jawline, on my chin, some on my cheeks, and on the sides of my forehead. I know everyone say
  4. Now that I am clear and have cleaned up my diet I want to try to lower my dose to see if I can gain some of the water weight back (it's made me loose 10lbs I couldn't afford to loose) and if I can stay clear on 50mg or 25mg a day. Is it best to drop from 100mg to 75mg to 50mg or is it ok to drop from 100mg to 50mg? THANK YOU FOR ANY ADVICE.
  5. I went to my doctor last Tue on the 1st Oct 2013 for some acne treatment. I am in my mid 20s now and have been dealing with acne for almost 15yrs. The type of acne I've gotten has changed over the years. In the last couple of years, my breakouts tends to be concentrated on the lower half of my face, specifically, around the mouth and on the chins. Occasionally, i do get a huge breakout on the sides of my cheeks, forehead or on my nose bridge, but those are far less frequent than the painful
  6. I have been using Clindamycin Phosphate Lotion USP 1% for about a month. My doctor prescribed this to me for my late-onset adult acne. (Mild/moderate). For the past 3 weeks, I have developed lots of tiny bumps all over my cheeks and jawline; everywhere I have been applying the lotion. Some of them do become inflamed, red, and VERY painful. Am I supposed to be breaking out from a topical antibiotic? Or could this be an irritation? I don't know if my skin is "purging" or if this produc
  7. I done taking Accutane in five days and I had a horrible breakout yesterday. So the thought came to me that maybe Accutane didn't really work for me. I have had some breakouts these last two months but they don't really compare to my current state. Anyways my derm recommended that if my acne comes back, apparently it comes back worse if it does, to treat it aggressively. But I don't want to use some brand-name retinoid gel/cream again. I just want to use tretinoin gel, not the cream. What worrie
  8. Hi After stalking this site I have decided to sign up so I can finally ask for help about what to do with my acne. Here's a brief history of my skin: At age 10 I started to get blackheads around my nose and on my chin which have never gone away. Age 11- started getting the occasional whitehead, had constant white spots on the apples of my cheeks age 12- got lots of red spots on my forehead, chin, in the summer I developed chest and back acne which still remains. age 13- went on tetracycline
  9. Hi everyone! So I was previously on Monodox for a few months and towards the end of my treatment, my skin was the clearest it had ever been. As I was waning off of the medication, my face broke out completely and went back to being worse than it was before I began treatment. I went back to my derm and she prescribed me 100mg of Minocycline twice a day (once a day after one month). I was just wondering if anyone has had success with Minocycline rather than Monodox. Because apparently, my skin onl
  10. Hi everyone, I've been on lymecycline, duac and differin for about a week and a half now. At first my skin felt really dry and painful after applying the cream but that seems to have calmed down (thank goodness!) I am, however, worried that I might be experiencing some side effects which might be connected to the antibiotics.. I think I may possibly have a yeast infection (I've never had one before so I'm not sure) and I've also been experiencing some mild diarrhea (sorry for how gross
  11. My Derm prescribed me Aczone (dapsone) gel, 5% for my overall acne, and Acanya gel as a spot treatment. I have adult hormonal acne. I am 25, have been struggling with it for a year. I am using Ortho Tri Cyclen BCPs to regulate my hormones....though I'm thinking about switching because it's been almost a year and I still need topicals. My acne is mild/moderate. I have very dry skin, naturally. Has anyone used either Aczone and/or Acanya? How long before it worked, if it worked at all? An
  12. Yo, dawgs. Read the whole post for a background on my situation, skip to the last paragraph for the actual questions. So...I'm going back to my dermatologist next week for my late-onset adult acne. I am 25. Never had a pimple in my life; now all of the sudden my jawline loves to produce clusters of tiny bumps...some of which become inflamed and red and huge. It can be painful, it sucks. What kind of acne is this? Where it's not necessarily inflamed, just bumpy and visible if you look cl
  13. Hello people, I never thought I’d share my story with others but I just can’t take it anymore and I need to open up. Since I can remember, I’ve always been concerned with good looks. I always had perfect skin and I don’t want to sound cocky or whatever but I felt like one lucky son of a bitch with the girls. My life changed around the age of 16 when I started having terrible acne. I’m talking huge change. I would avoid going out in public, having friends, and I even had to finish high school onl
