  1. Hi all I have been prescribed my GP and have read that I should start seeing results after 4 weeks. It's been 5 weeks and all throughout the last few weeks I have started developing large red and angry spots which I didn't have before, they are making more unhappy with my skin then I was before. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it just be getting rid of all the rubbish from my face before I start seeing results? I don't know whether I should get another 1 month prescription of it and se

    After

From the album: Before And After

After being true to "The Treatment" BP and going on Tri Sprintec Oral Contraceptives, my skin is healthier, happier, and a new, foreign texture that fears not the click of a camera. Finally.

    Epiduo Day 41

    From the album: Epiduo

First Image is 2 months into proactiv in February/March (skin looks super angry, but clearing). I eventually gave up on Proactiv and broke out even worse. The second Image is 41 days into Epiduo, been having some breakouts and have some hyperpigmentation, had a decent 3 week stint and but had a minor breakout this week which has cleared up. Crossing my fingers!
  4. Is my back bad enough to get a prescription to help? I have flare ups and it's been worse than it is now. Over the counter washes and other products don't really help.
  5. Hi, my family doctor recently prescribed me Tactupump (about 3 weeks now). I've read that the burning and the dryness goes away after 2 weeks tops however mine is as bad as it has ever been. When I use cleanser it burns a bit; some cleansers I use burn a lot more than others but I'm currently using the one that burns the least and it's nothing TOO painful but I still feel the burn. It's also noticeably red on the areas I've been applying Tactupump. My acne hasn't been that bad in a while a
  6. Hey guys, I'm 18 and I've had moderate acne for about 4 years now, I've tried every single topical and medication out there for my acne and the only thing that works slightly is BP, but my acne is getting worse by the day. I've come to the point in my life where I don't care what anyone thinks, I don't care if i haven't got 'cystic' acne or 'proper' acne, I just want it gone. Its effecting my life so much to where I don't feel like I can do anything any more. I get so upset and it just feels lik
  7. Hello everyone, I have gone ahead and started the process towards a journey on accutane. I've gotten through the 30 day period prior to being able to take accutane and today I received a call from my pharmacy telling me they have my prescription from my derma but they couldn't access it because it wasn't cleared in the iPledge system. I also received a call from my derma saying I needed to answer the questions online on the iPledge system. So, I logged on to it and clicked "comprehension quest
  8. Hey everyone! I'm currently taking Claravis. (Accutane) 15, Male, 122lbs. I'm on day 48, 40 mg once a day, and I was just wondering if my side affects are bad or if I should be worried? I've had a head cold and I do have some sinus issues so I think they might go hand in hand with these side affects. My dermatologist told me that my liver, triglycerides, and cholesterol levels were perfect and looked as though my body wasn't even phasing the drug. But I'm experiencing side affects like b
  9. Hey guys, Has anyone else been having the problem of 'manufacturing problems'? I went to the doctors a month ago to stock up on Acnecide cream which i've been using all year. It's a BP cream, worked amazingly as long as I didn't stop using it abruptly The doctor then prescribed me the cream but I went to collect it from my local chemist and BOOM. Apparently there's manufacturing problems, all BP creams are unavailable everywhere and won't be distributed again until next year. Has anyone else

    Spironolactone And Itchy Scalp

I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on my random mild itching scalp that started after taking spironolactone. At first I thought it was due to stress, but it comes about very randomly and it doesn't seem stress related. I would wake up and my scalp would itch on one side, or the bottom half of my head. It comes and goes. My scalp isn't flaky, dry, or red. Side info: after spiro, my scalp is now normal and not oily the day after a hair wash. I think my hair thickness is pretty sim

    Roaccutane Diary

Hi everyone, I'm a 16 year old and have recently been prescribed Roaccutane. I have decided to keep a diary of my progress for people who aren't sure whether or not Roaccutane is for them. Personally I was looking forward to going on the drug. I was so sick of my skin as I have had ongoing spots since I was 12/13, but my skin got really bad since last year. Previously I had tried every product known to get rid of spots but none of them worked. I was using a skincare salicylic acid wash given
  12. Here's my plight!!! It's long so bear with me. I've had acne for about five years now. I'm currently in my junior year of high school. While my acne isn't severe or cystic, every single pimple I get causes hyperpigmentation and I have a dark mark on my face for weeks (if I'm super lucky) or months (normal). I have plenty of comedomes on my cheeks which often get inflamed and cause the spot to turn red and fill with pus. After they pop, they leave a HUGE black mark and often times the same spot w
  13. Hi All, I'm writing today because I'm SUPER frustrated with my skin right now. I've just hit 9 weeks using epiduo gel this past Friday; I experienced an initial breakout during the first 3-4 weeks but I knew this was normal. It cleared around week 5, but reappeared during week 6. I was super discouraged. I finally cleared during week 7, but have recently began breaking out again - HORRIBLY. I currently am using epiduo at night (pea sized amount) about 30 mins after I wash my face with Cetaphil
  14. Funny story. 2 months ago, I went to a derma, he made me do a blood test then gave me a 2 month supply of accutane for about $60 if I convert to USD. I came back for more accutane after 40 days, he told me to do ANOTHER blood test and wait another week. Hell nah do I got time for that, I'm too busy. So what I did was go to a local pharmacy, apparently they don't *need* a prescription, he just gave me another month supply for $30. I'm living in Saudi Arabia, they aren't so strict on getting
  15. I need some counseling from other people who have been on ultra low dose Accutane. I am currently on 40mg twice a week - one 40mg pill on tuesday and one on friday. It's has been a little over a month since I started treatment and I haven't seen any evidence of the Accutane doing anything except for the occasionally dry lips. I was on a normal course of Accutane around 2 years ago but my acne came back, sadly. It was only after reading such amazing things about ultra low-dose treatments that
  16. Hey guys, my face lately has been looking really red and shiny compared to the rest of my body, and I just wanna know how to fix this. I have moderate acne, a few whiteheads every couple days, but mostly red spots from previous pimples that haven't healed. I use a Clean and Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser at day and night, and in the mornings I use Clindmycin lotion all over, then moisturize. At night I use retin a 1% lotion all over then moisturize. I also have aczone for spot treating
  17. Hello, I am currently in South Korea where Accutane is extremely cheap, even without insurance! Maybe because it's not as extensively regulated here compared to the States. I am taking a 10 mg pill once a day, 7 days a week and I just started on the first day today. Suddenly I had a revelation: Will it be okay to bring one year's worth of Accutane pills overseas to America? I am leaving at August, so I will be on the pills for only two months. However, I'm extremely confused if I can bring
  18. In August of 2013 I had started to use tretinoin .025% then was bumped up to tretinoin .05% later that year as well as being prescribed clindamycin phosphate topical lotion 1% to be used together. Ive used it up until middle november of 2014 then was prescribed Ziana gel (tretinoin .025% clindamycin 2%). Ive been using ziana for two months now and haven't really seen a difference in my skin like I had with the generic tretinoin and clindamycin used separately but I still applied both at once. I

    Acne questions poll

Hi everyone! I just have a question I'd like to post to everyone about acne... If you were given a proven system to clear your skin without topical treatment, what would be your most preferred method of learning how to do it? Method 1 - Online Program (e-Learning platform describing everything about clearing your skin - do it yourself at your own pace) Method 2 - 1 on 1 Coaching (Customized system to meet your needs working 1 on 1)
  20. Hey guys, I will try to update this log as often as possible with relevant information, in the hope it can help people who are in a similar situation as mine. I am a 25 year old guy, and I have had acne since I was 17-18. My acne was never considered severe, but it has been very persistent, it never went away with age and it continually shifted from whiteheads to cystic to small bumps to whiteheads etc. It actually has always been a problem for me and I don't know why I didn't try to tackl
  21. well the title says it all i have a derm appt tomorrow and i really do not want to start taking antibiotics because of everything ive read about resistance and when you stop taking it it comes back.. also i do not want any topicals because almost all have a bad IB.. which is why i really dont even use moisturizer.. plus almost all antibiotics take FOREVER to work from my readings on the org... so does any one have any advice for me they could spare.. im going to tell my soon to be new derm th
  22. I got really bad acne starting in March because of a bipolar medication (pretty positive). I had some before that around my period but never that bad. Then it just blew up....I would get recurring little red bumps around my temples and clogged pores, blackheads, red bumps on my cheeks. Sometimes it would even look rashy? I've tried otc products, clindamycin, duac, benzoyl peroxide, salycilic acid, diet changes, drinking plenty of water, minocycline, etc. I was prescribed tretinoin but heard it c
  23. I'm really confused because my derm put me on Accutane today and she registered me into iPledge and gave me the booklet and the ID cards and everything, but I'm not sure if I have to log into the iPledge program because all these posts say stuff about having to have your password emailed to you but I never got an email nor did my derm say anything about passwords or usernames, she just mentioned my ID cards and that she registered me... Do you only need a password to log on to if your a female a
  24. Dear all In May 2013, I started an accutane treatments that lasted 9 months, ending in January 2014. Within 2 months, my oily skin returned and breakouts resurfaced. Granted my skin is better, but not as good as I wanted it to be. During this period I moved from Switzerland to the Netherlands and changed dermatologist. She suggested a second accutane treatment, which started at the beginning of June 2014 (about 20 days ago). However, this time, the treatment is a different dosage: lower than
  25. Hi, all. I'm using both Duac and Differin mixed together in equal parts and applying them on my face at night. After using the products for about two weeks, I've started to experience a severe burning sensation while using them. I don't know which one causes it, but it feels like my face is on fire, and it doesn't stop stinging for at least an hour! I use all of my medicine primarily for my back, but also my chest and arms. My face is the only part of my body that experiences pain while using th
