  1. Well, I have one semi huge pimple that was forming when I finished the medication. My doctor gave me a prescription for retin A to use topically a month after I'm done with accutane if things get bad again and told me give it 4 months before I decide to go see a doctor. Because of insurance purposes I can't see my derm anymore and so he wrapped up my treatment and wished me the best and said he will refer me to someone if I need a dermatologist again. Lips are still dry but I can tell they a
  2. I've had horrible, persistent cystic acne from age 14 onward and thick facial hair (not hirsutism, but it's definitely noticable and plentiful....slightly coarser than peach fuzz, and darker) that I wax currently. (It's sucks. Done at home, at least, as the hair grows back, zits come in. But I don't know what else to do and I can't thread or get waxed in a salon every week. It also makes my skin sore and red, of course, even though I do a good job of keep the skin taut when pulling, using the oi
  3. 1st month (October, 2014) - 60mg/day 2nd month (November, 2014-June 1st 2015)- 80mg/ day taking within the span of 7 months Eventhough i haven't had a cyst in like 5 months, oil has started to return to a moderate level. Considering i have been taking, on my own accord, accutane once in a while, skipping days, even weeks i think it would have been best to forever take accutane with small doses here and there. It has absolutely worked great. I will talk to my dermatologist next time around. H
  4. Hi I'm 19 year old healthy male who developed really bad acne in last 8 months and I recently tried the no dairy diet along with using dans regimen and after 30 days there was major improvements in my skin (mostly due to the diet i think). However i decided to still go on accutane as I want to drink milk and eat ice cream and pizza and etc. I'm on week three and i'm experiencing a tough initial outbreak along with dry skin/lips which are all annoying. I am willing to tough it out if it means i c
  5. I'll be taking my 'last' pill on Wednesday 24th Feb. The apostrophes on last are because after my main course of accutane, I will be taking a "maintenance dose". My derm told me to take 3 pill a week after finishing my 16th box of isotretinoin. By the time I finish the last pill of this box I will have taken a cumulative dosage of around 175 mg/kg. He also said that this low of a dosage wouldn't produce any side effects that my current dosage is, so it would be as if I weren't taking the pill at
  6. Hello cool people, I have good news and bad news ... It's been a month and a half since i posted and i FINALLY went to see my dermatologist.... So today could have my 3 months and 3 weeks on accutane, or roughly 115th day on accutane but instead the past four months since i started accutane i have been taking accutane whenever i can and wanted. I did my firs tmonth straight 30 days of pills and my last 2nd month i dispersed it taking an average of 10 pills/ month. Of course this wasn
  7. Hey guys! can't believe i've finally mustered up the courage to post on here after lurking for years heheh.. I'm about to start accutane for the first time in a few weeks and i was hoping to find out from any of you on how differently your skin reacts to products POST accutane. just a little background on me - i have mild-moderate acne, very stubborn, that started when i was around 19 years old (I'm 24 now). i have never had cystic acne, but every morning i wake up to around 3-4 new pastules/pap
  8. From the album: Post-Claravis/Accutane

Let me know if you have any questions. It's been about a year since i finished my claravis prescription and i've had a (1) pimple and hairloss stopped. I would do it again if anything came back. I feel it was worth it.
  9. It's been a while hasn't it?! In fact, it's been 1 year and 2 months since I last took an Accutane pill, and I'm delighted to say that my quality of life has improved vastly since. The Early Days A few months post-treatment I still got a few spots, which seemed to be brought on by stress and hormones, but that has calmed down further where I get a (usually) small, pimple-like rather than cyst-type, spot every 2-3 weeks, and the life-cycle of these spots is usually a day or two rather tha
  10. Hey all, Finished my 240 mg/kg accutane course around 45 days ago and have been applying Retin-A Micro .05% about once ever 3 or 4 nights, planning to get up to every other night once my skin gets more used to it. So far the effects are awesome! No active acne really and my red marks are even starting to fade a little bit. Who else out there has done Retin-A after accutane, and in your experience, did it pretty much keep the acne at bay for good? I really want this to be a permanent solution
  11. So I'm about 10 days post-Accutane, but towards the 3rd or 4th month of my course, my skin became dehydrated, not dry. Now I'm having major problems with indented lines appearing in my skin that won't go away, and just overall bad looking skin. Plus, my forehead broke out in a bunch of small bumps out of nowhere. Anyone have advice for helping dehydrated skin? I might get my thyroid tested later today, as I also experienced some symptoms of hypothyroidism while on Accutane. Maybe that would h
  12. Hia, I'm coming to the end of my roaccutane course (1 1/2 months) Yay! I've had absolutely amazing results but the side effects have been very difficult to handle I found a Youtube video before I started talking about a cream you can use afterwards which is normally prescribed automatically in the US but in the UK you apparently have to ask for it. I now can't find the video and can't remember what the treatment is called. Does anyone know what this could be or have any other tips f
  13. Two years after being on accutane (which worked miracles!), I've finally tried to work out what exactly has been bugging me about my skin. What I wanted to know, is if I'm right that these are whiteheads showing up on the dryer patches of skin. Would be very helpful, particularly looking at the second picture. Thanks!
  14. Hey guys, I'm 18 years old and I've always had extremely clear skin until last summer. I got some on my cheeks, and they decided to stay on my cheeks - my cheeks haven't been acne-free since last year. Since then, my acne has been moderate, persistent acne that won't go away no matter what I did. I'm currently on my third week of accutane, and I'm questioning whether I should continue my accutane journey or not. But now I'm experiencing weird side-effects and after reading about others wh
