  1. I am having a horrible time trying to leave my face alone. My face feels like it wants to heal, but I can't help but pick at the new little bumps. I keep getting acne in the same spots as previous acne. I know its most likely because I KEEP PICKING AT MY FACE....buts its just so hard. I don't know what to do?? I should leave my face alone and let the acne take its course right? But if I do...and I get new bumps...and leave them alone...will my skin eventually get better?? I feel like If I leave
  2. hello. i just stumbled across this page while looking for reassurance. i am a 16 year old female. today, i went to my bathroom to pee and brush my teeth, and ended up picking just about every spot on my face without realizing i’d done it. after freaking out rather massively about what i’d done, i covered the mirror up with an old sweater and said “never again.” after that i showered and got to work on my red swollen forehead and chin. when i was done taking care of that, i still felt terrible. i
  3. I wish I could blame my hands for how my face looks. But I know its really my lack of self control. If I would quit picking at my skin I KNOW it would be so much better. But instead of stopping when I say I'm going to, I find myself in front of the mirror, hunting for any and everything I can possibly pick at. Then, when my face is oozing, red and sore, I blame my hands. Is picking an addiction? I feel like it is. Either that or a mental disorder. I WANT to stop!!!! If i ever get rid of acne
  4. I am so tired of acne. Last night I was so depressed about things that had happened that day that I kind of took it out on my skin. AKA i picked it to DEATH. BUT...supprisingly it doesnt look like it?!?!?!?!!? Like there's redness but no little bubbly white heads or huge swelling on the ones that wouldn't pop. I have no idea why that happened, but I am sooo thankful! Needless to say. I am still trying to do the no picking thing. Its so hard to do it with the ones that hurt tho! And that I
  5. I'm confused by all the contradicting information. I watched a video recently where this woman strongly advocated going ham when it comes to getting all the muck out of your pores. I could see her logic in doing this because she mentioned that oily skin traps dirt more easily and a simple wash and light scrub doesn't always do the job. Urgh. When I first got acne I used to be like that, trying to scrub, pop and extract the problem away. Then after gathering tons of information about the issue I
