  1. I have some questions regarding hormonal acne and the use of Yasmin and Spironolactone.. Hopefully this won't be too long-winded and lengthy.. Has anyone here had luck with replacing Yasmin with spironolactone to treat their (adult) hormonal acne? I don't want to be on Yasmin anymore because I believe that hormonal birth control leaves me with anxiety issues, I also experienced this on the NuvaRing as well. I am 26 and have PCOS which I believe is the root cause of my acne, so I need to be on
  2. Scaredofaccutane

    Does Accutane Cause PCOS?

Basically what the title says. Does Accutane cause PCOS? Has anyone developed PCOS after taking accutane? Or is PCOS caused by birth control? Is there a link of Accutane to PCOS?
  3. Today marks a new chapter in my acne journey with PCOS. I have found this forum incredibly helpful throughout my decision-making/research process and would like to contribute as well. Let's call this a little experiment shall we... To begin, a bit of backstory: I started getting acne when I was seventeen years old due to fluctuating hormones and diet (isolated to my forehead thankfully). However, upon cleaning up my diet by eliminating processed junk foods and sugar, I was fine in a year or so
  4. I want to share my story. I think I need to get it out in the open with people who may be in the same boat as me. I'll try keep all this short and sweet but gosshhhh, I could type forever Well, I'm Sadie, I'm 19 and as you may know, I have a problem with acne! I'm a typical girl, love my make up, love fashion, love to look nice - concious about my looks - very much so. But acne just doesn't help my confidence at all. I've had acne since I was around 11 years old. I can't actually remember i
  5. Hey! Newbie here! Looking for some advice from any women who have hormonal acne or pcos and are taking both; birth control pills and an antibiotic like lymecycline to combat their acne! A little background info; I am 21, and have had mild/severe acne since I was 10, and was diagnosed with pcos in early 2015, and have been on a course of lymecycline for 2 months along side Yasmin which I have been taking for about a week (had some cycle issues that led to me starting up on birth control la
  6. Hey Guys! So long story short - I don't have health insurance and I convinced my gyno to let my try 50mg of spironolactone for my acne that has become worse. I saw him today (I brought research findings about spiro and hormonal acne with me) and he agreed that things are out of control and is concerned. My acne right now is mostly concentrated along my jawline, cheeks, upper neck, and cheek bones (hormonal locations). My testerone was tested years back and was slightly high, the doc took some
  7. Hi everyone! Welcome to my post! Here are the topics that I'll be discussing: Accutane Birth Control / PCOS Cosmetics Washing your face Topical medications Before you continue reading I'd like to say that I'm still dealing with cystic acne. It's been a long journey, but my skin has improved dramatically. I've accepted that I'll never have perfect skin, but that doesn't mean I can't have try to have decent skin. Attached are pictures of my Accutane journe
