  1. Hey guys So since we last spoke (I spoke you read) I felt as though clearogen was being way too harsh on my skin so I made some changes. I'll go into my current routine later on. On Friday I had an appointment with a new derm... He told me my acne is probably genetic (even though it's clearly around my jawline and was caused by Yasmin one would think its hormonal hmmm). We did speak for about 45mins (my apologies to the people waiting for their appointment after me). He suggested roaccutane t
  2. I've been on epiduo for a couple of years post accutane, and have had fairly clear skin (think a pimple or two at all time, but clear other than that). 5 months ago I took plan b and it WRECKED my skin–worse than I've ever seen it before (even pre-Accutane), cystic acne and whiteheads and blackheads everywhere. After a few months of hoping my body's hormones would adjust, I gave up and went to my dermatologist again, who just prescribed me tazorac. I'm only 4 days in and already experiencing
  3. Okay so I have a theory and I'd like some feedback. About a year and a few months ago my birth control had run out (implanon) and that night I had unprotected sex so I got the plan B pill and took it the next morning. I rushed to get back on my implanon and within a month I had a new bar inserted. Ever since the day I took the plan b I have had severe hormonal acne and I rushed into getting back on my birth control because I thought the reason for the acne was that I had recently come off
  4. Okay so long story short I had to use Plan B in the middle of this past August. I didn't become pregnant as I got my period two weeks later (phew), but a couple of days after taking the pill, I began having massive uncontrollable breakouts. It is now almost the beginning of October and I'm still having a significant amount of facial acne. I'm 20 years old and have never really had a lot of skin issues before, but believe this new bout of acne problems may be due to a hormonal imbalance caused by
  5. NOTE: Follow the story all the way until the end and you'll see that in addition to taking Plan B in September 2013, I also took the fluoroquinolone antibiotic Cipro. Some people have really terrible reactions to fluoroquinolones and I am pretty sure I am one of those people. SO it's possible it wasn't just plan B that caused a horrible reaction but the combination of the plan B and Cipro taken so close together in the same month. My most recent update is from June 2016 and you'll see my skin is
  6. Hey guys, I've been doing a ton of research the past few days, including from my textbooks (I'm in medical school) and I think I've figured out my problem. Last winter, I took Next Choice/Plan B pill (levonorgestrel mega-dose) two times. I was also briefly on Alesse a few months back (same thing in lower doses) and I also had to take an oral steroid for bad poison ivy. I was also under a LOT of stress and had some digestive problems during the same time. A mess, I know, you'd think a med
  7. After having my acne under control for a few months, I have been quite disappointed these past few days. Two days ago I took Plan B, and since then I have gotten many, many new pimples. Not just any normal pimples, no... they are large and inflamed. Could plan b be the cause of this? Also, could this be a sign that my acne is hormonal?
  8. Sooo this is my acne on my jawline and on cheeks, is it hormonal? I have never ever had acne like this, maybe like 3 zits in a month but this is crazy! But i think that this was caused by plan B pill which i took two months ago, i also developed some cysts on my cheeks and i dont really know if it will ever go away, I'm regretting taking the pill tbh
  9. I took plan b in June and I had break out in my chin area. Its most like whiteheads and one cystic acne near my ears. Now my face has a lot of red marks… I have researched that saw palmetto and spearmint works so I took it last from two days ago. It immediately made my skin less oily. But I am concerned about possible side effects. I have read that these two herbs are anti-androgen which inhibits DHT and make testosterone converts into estrogen. This is not good! Also I have read people from in
  10. So I was reading back through some emails I've sent my mom complaining about big bumps on my chin. Almost 2 years ago now this started. I just realized that this started around the time that I had to take Plan B Could this have really screwed up my system that much that its caused me to have hormonal acne for the past two years??
  11. I took plan b in December because of an accident and it took quite a toll on my skin. I've had horrible cystic hormonal acne since that will not die down. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do along with my new birth control (Tri-sprintec) to get rid of this terrible acne?
