From the album: My Acne Scar Healing Process

This was about 2 and a half weeks ago, where I had acne and was on my GP prescription of Duac Gel and an antibiotic. It took very long to start to function and my acne and scarring was blue and purple. It's disgusting. I guess the medication they prescribe in the UK is very mild and hardly ever make a difference, as opposed to the Indian medication which works wonders, however - does dry the skin out. I can smell bleach (Domestos) when I am applying the face wash which makes me very scared

  4. Funny story. 2 months ago, I went to a derma, he made me do a blood test then gave me a 2 month supply of accutane for about $60 if I convert to USD. I came back for more accutane after 40 days, he told me to do ANOTHER blood test and wait another week. Hell nah do I got time for that, I'm too busy. So what I did was go to a local pharmacy, apparently they don't *need* a prescription, he just gave me another month supply for $30. I'm living in Saudi Arabia, they aren't so strict on getting
  5. Right after my period ends my forehead gets super oily right, under the skin bumps appear all over my forehead, and breakouts start appearing on my forehead as well. This lasts for almost a full week and then right after my skin returns to normal, under the skin bumps go away, and the breakouts start to heal and go away. Does anyone know what causes this and how to prevent this from happening? This happens every month and I believe this is what is preventing the skin on my forehead from getti
  6. Hey everyone!!I've had moderate acne for the past 4 years and after endless medications and prescriptions I have built up the courage to go on Accutane! I've read so so many threads and logs and so many people have had great results! For the past 3 months this summer my acne took a turn for the worst after I got bronchitis and had to take a lot of medication (i thought antibiotics would help me??). Anyway, I've been even more depressed than usual and I barely leave the house so I don't pigment m
  7. Hi guys... I have been on accutane for about 2 months now, small dose of 20mg.... Tbh I am not sure how my derm came to pick this dosage because he never weighed me or any of the usual stuff, just prescribed this doze... Anyway, it's been OK... tolerable. Only problem I am really finding is dealing with the skin picking and pimple popping. I fixated on it a lot prior to starting accutane but now it's so much worse and I have no idea how to stop. I don't even need to be looking at my skin in the
  8. I'm 21 years old and I had taken Minocycline for a while and heard if u take it too long u get grey spots and stuff so my skin was clear and I decided to come off it but then I got some pimples around my chin and didn't like it so I went to the derm and asked if I could try doxycycline (cause my brother takes it) and I took it for about 2 weeks and it broke me out so bad I was so upset! I had deep pimples that I couldn't cover up. I called my derm and said it didn't work for me and did the oppos
  9. I'm 20 and I never really had a problem with acne growing up. But since the fall started I've been getting more pimples than usual and I have these tiny red dots on above my lip/under my nose and around my mouth. It won't go away!!! It's not pimples though. Also how can I help hormonal acne cause I get whiteheads during pms and it's so frustrating. In the summer I had flawless skin cause the sun helps me. Idk if this is weather or hormone related.
  10. I've had cystic acne since I was about 12. I'm 21 now and I rarely break out in cyst. Just one or two a month or so. I mainly just have to deal with redness or dark marks that they leave. I recently stopped using over the counter acne washes and using only the cetaphil antibacterial bar. My skin has cleared almost entirely of these little colorless bumps I had and excess oil (no more shiny face) I even stopped wearing foundation, just powder and cover up to diminish the look of redness/scars. Th
  11. Hi all im new here, I started taking accutane last year on September for 6 months course 40mg, after that my face was all clear and no more acne growing. My acne was just mild but it was persistent. After 1 year since i started accutane, mild pimples are growing on my face. I started using cetaphil gentle skin cleanser and mosturizer morning and night for a week but it seems to be in no effect. Im thinking of prescribing of doxycycline to my local GP. Any suggestions would be g

  13. Hello, I just came across acne.org today. I really hate my skin and I’m willing to try anything that works. My skin has been getting worse over the last 2years and I really want to deal with it now. I don’t want to purchase the products before I know it is legit. Can anyone help me? kind regards x
  14. I was around 18 when I started taking biotin & I did not have one pimple my face was clear & as soft as a newborn baby. Fast foward to a year I started breaking out horribly! I didn't know what was causing it so I decided to stop taking biotin since that was causing all my problems. Almost two years later I am still breaking out badly, I stopped bad eating habits, drinking water only and still no progression now I don't know whether or not is the biotin still in my system or maybe someth
  15. Hey everyone, I've been getting these 'breakouts quite frequently. They just come up over night. Growing up I never had bad skin- now i do. I'm not on birth control, I haven't made an drastic changes to my diet. I cleanse, I exfoliate, I exercise.... Initially, it started on my chin a few months ago- maybe a year. Now I have these bumps on and off (more frequently now) on my chin, near my eyes. They're like under the skin, some come to the surface, others don't. Some of them don't
  16. Hi, I'm new here & I just wanted some help with my acne situation. I am a 16 year-old boy, I get pimples quite frequently, 2 to 3 pimples are always on my face. There's never a day where I have no pimples. But that's not the worst part. Everytime the pimples heal there's a red mark left behind. I don't even pop them so I don't understand why I get these marks. And this occurs only on my cheeks. I've recently been prescribed tretinoin by my dermatologist for the marks, and benzaclin for activ
  17. Has anyone successfully quit Proactiv or another product that contains benzoyl peroxide WITHOUT breaking out badly? I'm 24 and I've been using Proactiv since I was 14. I feel my skin is no longer as acne prone as it was when I was a teen, but my skin seems to be addicted to it, specifically the benzoyl peroxide. I tried to quit Proactiv when I was 17. I was warned that many users suffer major breakouts when they first quit, so I stopped using it. Well, I broke out...HORRIBLY. For months. It
  18. Hello friends! Im 26 and new to this site. A few days ago I had a sudden breakout of probably ten whiteheads overnight. Today I have over 40, and my face is very bumpy (washing it feels crazy). It's starting to itch and sting a bit, but I try my best not to touch my face. My acne is all over my cheeks, around the mouth and some down on my neck. My forehead and temple are flawless. Before breaking out, I had switched my cleanser from Neutrogena stress free cream to Alba deep pore gel (becau
  19. Hi Everyone. This is my first post on the forums. The question is concerned with my wife who is 27 years old. There is no history of pregnancy. She and her family never had any history of acne problems but about 3-4 months back she had a sudden breakout of acne on her cheeks. And since then it has not stopped. She has consulted 2 doctors till now and below is what the doctors suggested:1) She hits the gym everyday so the first guess was that may be a supplement like protein/multivitamin/BCAA(All GNC p
  20. Hello to everyone seeing this, I need some help. I was prescribed tretinoin cream about 1.5 years ago by my doctor, have been using it since 8th grade. I was never really consistent with it until about 3 months ago, when I really decided that I needed to use it strictly, and ever since then, I haven't missed any days. The reason I got prescribed it was for whiteheads, that's it. But since then, my scars keep getting worse. I have never experienced cystic acne, but my acne just won't go away. The
  21. So I don't think I have a major problem with acne. I have some acne scars but they don't bother me. What bothers me are these patch of bumps on my forehead which never seems to go away with any topical medication I use. My acne got better but the rash looks worse and has spread since winter started. It's very dry and the bumps are raised SO makeup cannot cover it. A few months ago the patch bumps were there but they were flatter and less visible. I don't understand why it's not going away but it
  22. I really need some help here guys, ok so I recently had a bad break out and one of the spots on my jaw I had picked at quite badly (bad idea, I know!) so the spot has scabbed over but the scab was slightly flaky and I couldn't resist just pulling it off but it was still very tightly attached to the middle of the spot ( not the edges) and when I pulled it off the middle bled, sorry for the graphic description, anyway the spot was pink skin now and the middle bled a little then stopped but it won'
  23. Anyone know the cause of forehead acne? I literally have never gotten a single pimple on my cheeks, but my forehead has a bunch of bumps and and few pimples. Primarily the bigger ones are located right in between my eyebrows. Other areas are right next to my nose, in between nose and mouth, and chin. Other information: every year for the past five years I have had perfectly clear skin in the summer, but in the fall (mainly November) my skin is the worst and I have the most breakouts.
