  1. Okay so I had a little bit of what I think is an IB. What happened was I got a bunch of little pimples all around my mouth area. And then I still had some of the bigger ones I had before taking Accutane. So all in all I probably had a total of 15 pimples all along my chin/jawline and like I said most of them were little but anyways my chin mouth looks like a minefield on my face so of course I had to mess with them. :/ Yes, I tried popping them ALL. they look red now and some of them didn't even
  2. So the lemons have been making my face look and feel better but recently where i have my acne scars they have been getting red around it and im sure its from the lemons. I was trying to put on moisturizer but it burned really bad, (it did not make my whole face red, only around my scars) I have stopped using lemons for a while, and i will try again soon. Also, this may only be for me im not sure if other people have experienced this problem
  3. Hello everybody! This is a new blog I will be starting which will consist of my life with acne and how I got through high school, community college, college, and now grad. A little background information about me. I have had acne since my senior year of high school and throughout my college career. I have taken multiple acne prescriptions throughout my life. Here is a list of some of the prescriptions: Benzoyl Peroxide Tretinoin Doxycycline Hyclate Clindamycin Phosphate Epiduo Bactri
  4. So this is my first entry, and I think I should start with who I am. Maybe this will help you relate and maybe stuff that helps me will help you! So I'm a 21 year old girl with not too severe acne but enough acne to lower my self-esteem. My journey so far: I had baby skin throughout puberty. Like. My skin was epic. Beautiful. Made from the gods. Okay, maybe not that good but you get the picture. And then it slowly said "F you UnspoiledDude, F you!" and changed into this mess of a skin.
  5. About my 5 month mark on Thursday, and Just had some very bad sunburn for the past 4 days, with blisters and everything !!! I love the sun but don't plan on messsing with he sun anymore until I'm off this medicine. I'm currently on 40 mg a day and have only been on that for 1 month. Next month will be my second month of 40 mg and will be on the medicine at least 8 months maybe longer. Since I had some problems with white blood cell counts in the beginning. But still never thought I'd come this f
  6. Hi everyone. Just joined this website earlier and this is my first blog/conversation. I am 21 years old and have had acne since the age of about 14. At the start of February I was prescribed Accutane and I first started taking the drug on February 6th 2016, so that will be 16 weeks on the drug tomorrow (about 4 months). Bottom line.. MY SKIN IS STILL BAD AND IM STILL BREAKING OUT, my derm is calling then 'pustuals'. Now don't get me wrong my skin is getting better in certain areas (forehead and
  7. Hi there guys I was just wondering if someone could tell me what severity of acne I have. I have had acne since I was about 12-13 much worse than it is now. Currently I use epiduo every night with aveeno moisturiser afterwards and I use a black pore mask once a week. However despite this I continue to suffer with large red pimples under the skin that are painful and take a long time to go away. Does anyone have any tips to help get rid of these because they make me extremely unhappy and make me
  8. Hello everyone and anyone reading this. So this is a 5 year update since getting on accutane. I dont breakout at all now. The only time I get pimples is when I eat dairy and when I drink orange juice or eat oranges. I think I finally found out why I used to break out so much in my teens. I used to eat a lot of dairy food and drink acidic stuff like orange juice a lot. Ive read a lot on this and a lot of other people broke out because of dairy and when they stopped eating it they stopped breaking

    forehead acne

i'm 14 and i've had acne for at least 7 months now, at first it was a mixture of pimples on my cheeks, chin, forehead etc but it was very light acne - more of teenage breakouts but for the past 7 or so months i've had acne specifically on my forehead, which i think is cystic acne? i've tried so many things and read up about it so much - i've tried different skin care like tea tree and so forth but unfortunately it just dried my skin out so much to the point it was crispy which was really gros

I finished my second week of Accutane yesterday and the side effects have been rolling in this week haha! I had a bit of a crazy week this week, I've been trying to plan my sisters hen party which we celebrated on Friday/Saturday, lets just say I'm bloody happy it's over! As i said before, I've been enjoying a wide range of side effects this week, the worst being the whole of my mouth peeling. Literally, when I wake up I can swipe a towel around the inside of my mouth and it comes out

    Day 9

So, I don't know if it is my initial breakout or if it is because I haven't been on my antibiotic for a couple of weeks now, but my skin is crazy broken out! Everyday I have sooo many whiteheads all over my chin and above my upper lip! Crazy! (and quite stressful) BUT I guess this is what happens before things get better. Only time will tell! How's everyone else out there doing on there Accutane journey?!
  12. My derm has put me on Acnaya, and I go back to see her in a few more work to discuss my progress with it. My skin has really approved with the acanya, but I'm still getting spots ): I really don't want to stop using the Acnaya because it does help prevent new spots and it heals spots really fast! I may see even better results in the next few weeks, but I think I'm going to talk to my doctor about putting me on a 2nd medication to work with the Acanaya gel. Does anybody have any suggestions?
  13. Hey! My dark spots are beginning to fade. They are still very noticeable, but I do see the improvement. I have two new pimples on my right cheek. A couple that are beginning to go away on my forehead and no active ones on my left cheek. I still have the same side effects, in addition to some new ones. My face and lips are still dry and my scalp is still itchy and flakey (although I got Selsun blue for flakey scalp, so hopefully that helps.) One of my new side effects is that I have a

    Update

Hey everyone, It's been a long time since I updated my blog. It's not like my skin is perfectly cleared but it's manageable. I mean, lately, I have been picking my whiteheads. I know I shouldn't but I have this really bad habit of wanting to squeeze it out every time they appear on my face. Trust me, they are pretty much all scattered around my cheek and chin area. BIG MISTAKE! Two or three of them actually inflamed and they became three red inflamed pimples on my face. I've been applying
  15. Hey, lovely people! My name is Alex and I decided that to keep up my spirits/track my progress/meet other people with acne I should start a blog! So ... here I go! For the past four years I have been following Accutane blogs on this site and trying to deal with my persistent moderate/severe acne by going on countless topicals/prespcription meds/antibiotics etc. Needless to say, they haven't worked and so when my skin began scarring I switched dermatologists. My new derm has prescribed me 40mg
  16. I'm currently Day 14 following The Regimen I've seen minor improvements on my face, no new acne popping up in my face and the older ones are gone by now or at least very dry. However, I can still se acne scars here and there due to the old acne. My only concern is that my face is now darker than the usual color also when being compared to my neck. The skin also tends to get very dry after I wash my face with a gentle cleanser, should I scrub off the dry skin on my face or just leave it as it
  17. Now, it is week 11 of my treatment (and technically week 7 of using adapalene and clindamycin). There hasn't been any major changes. The large pimples I mentioned last time have mostly gone down. There's only one large pimple now and my right cheek has become a bit smoother. Other than that, there's nothing interesting. Also, I forgot to mentioned in the last entry, but I am Asian with medium skin tone that can tan fairly easy. I don't each much junk food as I use to (a bag of chips every
  18. Day 10 First 5 days: Hey everyone so today is day 10 of being on 40mg everyday. The first 5 days I didn't notice any significant changes, however I did get a cluster of 4 big whiteheads around my chin/jawline. I was unsure if this was because of the Accutane or because I was about to start my period in a few days? I am going to assume the acne was a result of both the Accutane and my hormones because I usually never get such bad acne on my jawline. Day 6-10: On day 6 is when I started to not
  19. Hi , this is my 3 month update. I've been on accutane for 90 days now. I was on 20 mg per day for first 2 months and past month I was on 30 mg per month. The improvement my skin has made sometimes blows me away. But I'm so paranoid about my skin. And I don't think that will ever stop. I can't remember a day where I didn't wake up with a big huge painful red pimple on my cheek. Until recent days , and it's never felt so good. I can't wait to have more and more results. Anyone on there first or se
  20. I took Accutane 4 years ago. After two years, my acne returned in full force. I was getting cystic acne just like before. I fell back into the cycle of taking antibiotics (minocycline, doxycycline, etc) but I knew that wasn't a permanent solution. I was even considering a second round of Accutane. After seeing how clear my skin could be with the first round of Accutane, I just wanted to have clear skin again! It had been such a blessing not having to think about the blemishes on my face. When yo
  21. Once upon a time there was a normal happy studious girl with large spectacles yup me!!. When I was doing my ninth grade, there was a friend of mine who seriously had lot of pimples. At that time, I didnt even know what acne meant. Even now I remember that day clearly, me: whoa, you seriously have many boils in your face.. friend: even you have some small things on your forehead.. me: (feeling proud)haa! not as bad as yours... these dont even qualify as boils.... friend : (sad face).. Tha
  22. I just wanted to write a brief history of my experience with acne before going into writing accutane blogs. I have had acne since I was nine years old. When I was younger it was only a few pimples but it got worse throughout middle school. It seemed to calm down in high school and college but I still never had clear skin. Now after graduating college it has all flared up again. When I was in middle school I used Retin-A and differin topical creams that were prescribed to me by my primary c

My dermatologist appointment is tomorrow! I'm so excited but really apprehensive too! There was a point last week when i considered cancelling the appointment - my skin was looking quite clear, but thank god I didn't because today it's looking pretty bad! It's probably a good thing that it looks bad because then there's more chance of him putting me on Roaccutane again. I also bought a bottle of Accutane pills online last week (save the preaching!) because I was just in despair about what to

I tend to write a weekly blog but think I should start to do them more regularly because my skin literally changes on a daily basis. I was raving last week about how clear my skin was looking but literally over night I've gotten more pimples ugh. It's frustrating because I would have thought that in week 5 my skin would be looking really clear but I've still got active acne and a load of hyper pigmentation.. boooooo. On a different note, I started my first day of training to be an eyelash te
  25. I want to share some of the EFT tapping that I used to help heal zits and breakouts. For those new to EFT, you learn it from this short pdf guide, and you'll be able to follow along with the tapping rounds I have below. I promise it will make sense once you've read it. Tap Away Acne Quick-Start Guide.pdf I would usually tap one or two rounds on acne in general, and then focus in on the individual aspects of my acne that were bothering me. Targeting specific this about it gave the b
