    Day 1

Day 1 Hello readers! I hope that by keeping a daily blog on my progress that I can motivate myself through this challenge and help combat my utter lack of self control. Today has been a stay at home day so I’ve not worn makeup which is nice. I picked and squeezed the hell out of my face these last few days so right now my face is a red, scarred, blotchy, scabby dry mess. I tend to pick when I look in the mirror. I always find myself looking for imperfections as I suffer from low confiden

    Day 23

Day 23 - picked at one spot. I was plucking my eyebrows and it ended up in me scouting out for things on my face T_T It was a small pick so not too damaging, but as of now I know have two dark scabs on my face from the picks before. The cyst on my brow has definitely decreased and I hope it stays that way. Hoping its not the calm before the storm type of deal! Man, I really wanna try prescription duac and not the expired samples my derm gives me.

    Oxymoron: Swollen Crater?

How can it be both swollen and a crater? It started out as a painful hormonal cyst below my lip near the corner of my mouth. I popped it, the skin broke, and now it's beet red and very raised on the edges with a crater in the middle. It's gotten more swollen since I popped it last night. How do you heal something like this? If it were just a crater, I'd use Neosporin and/or Biafine. If it were just a swollen lump, I'd use hydrocortisone. But it's both. Not to mention that jawline and

    Introduction

Let me begin by saying that I have tried many many many different ways to cure my acne. From all different types of home remedies (applying tea tree oil every night does not work for our skin, guys) to prescription medications.Things I've tried (to name a few):apple cider vinegarhoney maskstea tree oil (my boyfriend really didn't appreciate the smell)antibactitial soaphomeopathic oral dropsremoving dairy from diet (torture)increase water intakewitch hazel acne pills from another county (DO NOT A

    Holiday High

So I'm back from holiday BOOOOOO! but on the plus side I'm experiencing post-holiday skin which means I'm feeling pretty good...when I was on holiday I got 2 painful ones with a pore which is usually how my skin purges in the sun, but luckily when I picked them (in the least damaging way) they went down without a scab woo! I also picked 2 minor blackheads on my chin that kind of dried up and didn't scab then 2 small whiteheads on my forehead that left a tiny dot of blood...It may sound like I fa

    Day 9

I can't believe I only have one more pill in my 1st pack of 10! AHH, so exciting. I am slightly noticing the drying a bit more. My cheeks have been breaking out the worst but also seem like the most dry areas so far. My lips are slightly chapped as well, but I've been very proactive about chapstick. I'm ready for these annoying blackheads to start pushing themselves out already! They seem darker and they're just so tempting...I just want to squeeze them. I had a nasty whitehead I was doing such

    Day 22

Day 22 - didn't pick today. the cysts are definitely shrinking and so are the pimples. although I think the one on my right cheek might have been a bug bite and not a pimple;; haha

A Journey Begins With A Single Step

Today has been quite exhausting. I got very little sleep last night and woke early to face the consequences of last nights picking. It was not a pretty sight. I was so ashamed and disgusted at myself. My face had been healing and then suddenly, BOOM! I'd pick, and pick, and pick until my bloody was bloody and marred. Then I decided that was that! And I began to construct my path. First, I popped an elastic band on my wrist, a form of negative reinforcement. If I pick then I snap the elastic b

    Day 12

Day 12 - didn't really pick at anything... cant report much today cept that I switched around my routine a tablet of zinc after lunch, another one after dinner, then my antibiotic at midnight... since I figured that's when my stomach would be most empty? haha

    No More Justification

Ok so I've been faced with a dilemna since the benzoyl peroxide I ordered arrived early...on the one hand I know that it works well, but on the other hand I know that it never makes me 100% clear and I don't think my skin warrants using it again. I'm going to persevere and try and go on holiday and forget about it...although taking apple cider vinegar in a 100ml bottle in my hand luggage is sure to raise a few eyebrows - taking a bottle of urine onto the plane eh! lol On a positive note I ha

Not As Bad As It Could Be.

I am so tired of acne. Last night I was so depressed about things that had happened that day that I kind of took it out on my skin. AKA i picked it to DEATH. BUT...supprisingly it doesnt look like it?!?!?!?!!? Like there's redness but no little bubbly white heads or huge swelling on the ones that wouldn't pop. I have no idea why that happened, but I am sooo thankful! Needless to say. I am still trying to do the no picking thing. Its so hard to do it with the ones that hurt tho! And that I

    I'm DONE PICKING (again)

OK. As i am writing this it is the morning after a big pick, after I was on a pretty good roll with nice skin. Yep, I played myself again. It started how it always does, went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. Was going to remove one tiny flake off of a healed spot, very meticulously and controlled..... and BAM !!!!! 30 mins later my whole face has been extracted and is beet red. My favorite cream has mitigated some of the damages, its not the worst its ever been by any means but like c

    For Pickers

Also, i forgot to mention a new cream i just got that in 2 days has healed picking wounds like nothing ive ever tried! (ive said his before about Derma E Psorzema cream, and maybe the Dermatouch retinol day cream) but this one is FOR REAL, better than everything else!!!! IS Clinical sHEALd Balm. OMG. You guys. 15. Hey all, For just under a month after visiting a doctor, I've been told to use Differin Gel (adapeline 0.1%) once a day, applied before going to bed (washed off in the morning), and Cetaphil oily skin cleanser morning and night. I've done everything I've been told to do, but my skin is always feeling extremely tight, and my whole face is red, my acne is worse, my skin is peeling around my mouth, nose and eyes (my eyes???) and til yesterday I thought it was caused by the Differin, even though
  16. I am making this because I NEED to stop picking at my face. It is so bad, and I have probably created permanent scars on my face because of this. Now I plan to post pictures of progress, of when I started to when I end this 30 day challenge. Please please please do not say anything negative about this, as I tend to pick at my skin because of stress. I hope posting this along with the pictures will really motivate me to stop picking. The pictures will be taken in bright light, revealing how bad t
  17. Ok so I have never met anyone that has the same problem as I do but I'm hoping for advice. I am a picking addict. I do not know why but if I have a blemish I have to pick at it. This probably sounds weird but it's something I can not stop. It's a very very bad habit that is very very hard to break. I get told constantly how bad picking is for my skin and trust me I know. I have tried to stop multiple times but it only ends in failure and frustration. I don't know if it's a stress reliever or w

    Day One

I've finally stumbled back onto this site today, and decided to join. After suffering and trying different things; banana peels (recently found out about this and it worked for a week), proactive (used it for almost a year, it got to be expensive and after I stopped using it, my acne was worse than before I started), home remedies, and even prescribed medication from the doctor, none of it seemed to work. Everything I have used seemed like a temporary fix. I'm 28 and have two amazing kids.

    Angry Angry

Well I had a lovely weekend and stayed relatively clear...however I got really angry on saturday night with my boyfriend and because he was drunk and feel asleep I had so much anger that didn't have an outlet which led to me taking it out on my skin. I was lucky that I was tired because I only have one disaster zone but jheez is it sore! There was a cluster of about 4 small clogged pores just above my eyebrow near my hairline and I really went to town on them, 2 came out no problem but the other
  20. Hey guys does anyone else have anxiety related spot picking!? So when I get really bad anxiety I pick my skin, mostly my face but my arms and my chest too. It's so annoying because I know it's bad for my skin, but yet I still can't help but do it! - today I was super stressed and had bad anxiety and I've really picked my skin which I'm so annoyed at myself about because I was doing so well and now I've made my skin look so much worse! I can't help it, it's like a stress coping mechanism which

    Dec 23rd Report

Okie dokie well here i am, the day after my December 22nd challenge.. and i must say im pretty happy with where my skins at right now. It was *decent enough* for my hair appt yesterday, and i found something while shopping yesterday that i think will hit it home. Its a retinol cream i found at winners, i used it last night and already could see an improvement this morning. Will keep using! My picking has been pretty under control since theres not much to pick at right now. However, I did have an
  22. I pick A LOT. At least once a day. I know its the worst thing I could do for my skin, but I feel like nice skin is a hopless cause anyway that I might as well pick the puss off my face, right? I have mild/moderate acne with crater scars and lots of redness. Has anyone been able to clear their face by exercise, drinking water, and leaving their face alone? That's the method I'm trying this time.
  23. Hi All, I'm new here but definitely not new to the wonderful, joyous world of pimples. Now mine is quite mild but it still causes me a lot of strife. I'm very insecure about pimples and the like and because of that have a really bad problem with popping my pimples. Right now I'm not doing that because I had an epiphany and have resolved not to but to give you some history: Previously I would pop anything. And I mean anything. Ever whitehead, blackhead, pore. Tiny bumps on my forehead that

    Dusting Off

Hey everyone! It is *counts on fingers* day 11 of my journey and despite my little hiccup things have started off again well. Day 9 was VERY difficult, as my picking had all but reversed my small, but crucial progress. Starting again was much more difficult but necessary! My face is healing well, though I leaned heavily on my family with the appearance of a very deep, very large, and very painful zit on my upper cheekbone. Perhaps one of the largest I have ever had, it swelled rapidly and sat

First a little background information · Girl, currently 19 years old · Started getting acne around 14 years old · Dry, sensitive skin + large pores (the most ironic combination) · Few big ones on my forehead or near my mouth / chin, never my cheek, often pretty deep with no head + ooze for a really long time · Doctor prescribed me clindoxyl(Benzoylperoxid/Clindamycin), did not do much but irritate my skin · Dermatologist who put me on lymeceline pills (two years ago), helped with the infl
