  1. I'm hoping that I'm putting this in the right thread here but I need some help with healing a couple of open sores that I have ATM. Pretty much I've come to accept the fact that I have a problem with picking/popping things on my face and I tend to do it more when I'm under stress. I've been under more stress as of late so long story short I was stupid and picked a couple sores on my face lol. To avoid me picking at these more for the next couple of days (having these come to gross, crusty sca

    Peeled Acne Scab

Hey guys. So a couple months ago I had a small whitehead. I took a towel and I tried to rub the whitehead off. Unfortunately, I caused a burn on my skin by rubbing to hard. Anyways, a scab began to form and I peeled the scab off because I am an idiot. Anyways its been 2 months and the skin is still sort of red and pink. Should I try to start exfoliating this skin to fade these marks?
  3. Okay so I'm 15 and I've had acne since I was like 10... it really sucks. It has left me with no self confidence at all. I've gotten bullied for it and I literally can hardly look in the mirror without wanting to cry its gotten so bad. I need some kind of help... nothing works for me. I've tried natural remedies like the caveman regimen, african black soap, tons of homeade masks, and the OCM. I've tried some lush products, proactiv, and all the drugstore brands. A nurse told me to try just plain

The Night Is Darkest Before The Dawn

Today is day two, and I have to say that despite being in an absolutely foul mood; I'm proud of myself. I was able to go the whole day without picking. However, due to the fact that I am in a bad mood I am going to keep things very brief. - Didn't pick today in the shower, which is one of the main places that I pick. - my GP is a useless, unprofessional twat. (I don't really want to get into details but he basically treated me like an idiot and was rude the entire time.) - Got home from wo

    Day 28

Day 28 - Same as yesterday, I had to wear full coverage make up so I ended up using my dr. jart bb cream. After I took it off, I had 8 more new clogged pores which I picked out. Got out 7 clean and easy and clear, but one of them I broke skin. Its gonna scab. Ugh. dr jart silver label u are horrible. It doesn't last that long either. it looks good for the first 2 hrs. and then it starts cracking. not flaking, but little tiny cracks everywhere, like a dry desert floor. I think my skin oil dissolv

    Day 17

Day 17 - picked at two spots today. damn, and I was doing so well... but I needed some sort of relief. Life has been a bitch this week. I've also been only getting 4 hrs of sleep the past 5 days... which is why I think I got that pimple I mentioned in my last two blogs. Its most likely a cyst :'( I see the white head, but its too deep for me to get! ahhhh the horror of cysts. It hurts. Ive been drowning it in duac every morning and night, although I doubt that'll be much help since its expired d

    Update 5/7/13

Updates! My skin has been doing great and I've been picking less! I think I picked two times within the week.. and it was the same spot haha, didn't do much damage I've really kicked the habit of gluing myself to the mirror and killing my skin. I just got a renewal on my minocycline prescription but my derm said that they ran out of duac samples! D: so I might be getting the BP and the clindamycin separately within the next week..... I cant wait for that! As for pimples, I got one on my rig
  8. Hello I just wanted to start a thread on no picking. I've tried for a couple years now and I feel that I am finally determined to do it after seeing all my scars. I only break out in big pimples on my forehead. That's the only spot I pick. I do occasionally get breakouts around my nose but not really. My big goal is 23 days. IDK why but if I make it that far I feel that I won't turn back! Right now, pretty bad breakout on forehead with a couple tiny red ones on my cheek. Picked like CRAZY to

    Temptation

So I picked the near-corner-of-mouth spot...it was hurting quite a lot and needed to relieve some of the pressure, I then looked at the rest of my skin and avoided picking the ominous bump above my eyebrow but apparently couldn't resist a little comedone that was jutting out of my forehead. 2 spots...I can deal with that - not great but not a disaster. Also luckily I think the comedone was ready because the dot left behind is so tiny that I haven't even bothered with concealer. However after

    Forehead Redness

Hi, I am 14 years old and have struggled with light-moderate pimples and acne since I was 12. I was on the Regimen from October 5th, 2014 until mid-January of 2015, which is when I ran out of the Regimen cleanser and the moisturizer. I continued with the Regimen BP, and just purchased my second bottle of it. It did do wonders for my skin, but I still have little clogged pores and blackheads all over my forehead, nose, and chin. I wash my face with Cetaphil Oily Face Wash twice a day, apply BP tw
  12. Hi guys. Ever since starting the regimen two months ago, I have been trying and mostly succeeding with my horrible skin picking which has caused a lot of hyper pigmentation on one side of my face. Last night I picked badly for the first time in awhile. So badly there were and are indents in my skin where i ripped scabs off, one tear the size of a dime. They bled a lot. It happened within probably 2 minutes and the whole time my brain was telling me to "stop!!!! immediately!" but I just kept th
  13. After struggling my entire life with acne - (which became horribly worse in my early 40's), I am clear and so much happier. I didn't realize how much time and emotion I invested in treatments, picking, make-up and insecurity. I am very happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for taking a peek. It will get better, I promise you. Photo one, was my average daily skin appearance. Photo two, no make up, just face cream. Photo three, make up. I used 60 mg.'s Accutane, Aquaphor on face and

    Day 20

Day 20 - Entry's gonna be long. Topic 1: minocycline side effects Topic 2: what I picked on my face Topic 3: pimple updates Topic 4: vitamin c horrors Skip around haha ----------- I started off today feeling super tired and very crappy. I was a bit depressed, especially about my skin. It felt hopeless... I didn't know why but then I realized its probably my antibiotics every since I switched from solodyn brand to the generic minocycline, I started feeling super tired... more than I

    Onwards And...onwards

I am happy to report that since my last post I have had no MAJOR picking sessions...I am still breaking out all on my forehead and have been compelled to do some damage control but overall I've not felt the need to lock myself in the house for the next week whilst it settles down...huh in fairness I did go to town on a spot on the side of my head and it's very red, very scabby and hard to cover, which makes me realise that I'm more affected by my acne depending on where it is on my face...if the
  16. Hello there, So I broke the number one rule this morning. I jumped in the shower and As I was cleansing my face I could feel little white heads all over my cheeks, chin and along my jawline. I made it through the shower but when I was spreading Dan's BP...I hit my breaking point. I popped one then two... Before I knew it I had popped at least 30 white heads. I already have a grip of ice pick scars, brown spots and on my nose I have red vines on the sides of my nostrils. Ugh I'm a mess I can'
  17. Ok so I have read on here that using/ rubbing ice cubes over your pores, helps shrink them? IS this true and has anyone here used this method???

    I need help(pics included)

I need to stop picking. Does anyone have any tips for pickers? I don't know how to stop. I have been diagnosed with OCD so I struggle with the compulsion to pick anytime I have a pimple. I rarely get whiteheads(I get nodules and cysts), so I don't even know why I attempt to pop my blemishes. I have done this to myself too many times to remember, but I never learn.

    Bumpy Ride

So I haven't posted since Thursday and the main reason is because I've been feeling awful about my skin I was doing so well and then Friday morning I woke up with a painful cyst right above my eyebrow...which is making me realise that I'm getting better at not picking but as soon as I get a bigger spot it's like I go into overdrive and start panicking. I tried to wait until I got into work before messing with it but instead I poked it with a pin A LOT before I even left the house. I'm so di
  20. hi! i have a lot of questions and need some quick advice but i'm going to give some background info / my personal experience first (just skip down to the questions if you would like!) BACKGROUND INFO- okay so i've had mild to moderate acne on and off since i was about 12 (in 15 now). i used to get pimples only on my forehead and they were never big at all. usually skin colored so they never really bothered me. i would also get blackheads around my nose but they were not noticeable. 22. 2012-07-12: I hereby pledge to stop picking at my face, back, and neck. In the past 3 months, my acne has improved a lot due to oral doxycycline. However, as fresh new pimples become more rare, the old scabs become more noticeable. I need to stop reopening these wounds, I need to let them heal. I have tried to swear off picking before, but this time is different, because I am going to be accountable to all of you. I am going to post once each day reporting my success or failure. If I stop

    Day 13

Day 13- Didn't pick today. Now that im seeing good results, ive started to care less and obsess less about picking at my skin. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner! Im hoping I don't cave in I shoulda went to the derm years ago! I was always scared of the initial break out so I put it off till now, but I didn't get any initial break outs... and apparently you're not suppose to with antibiotics which does make sense since its suppose to kill the bacteria, not purge it out. harharhar

    Aversion Therapy

I am happy to report that since my last post there have been no major picking incidents. Admittedly I have picked a small whitehead and 2 comedones but I'd class these as pretty insignificant. Which leads me to believe that snapping an elastic band on my wrist actually works! Hurrah! The first time I tried this it was with a hair band and I only pinged it when I wanted to pick and it wasn't very effective. This time around I am using an elastic band (which hurts A LOT more than a hair band!) and
