  1. Hi I was wondering if anyone has experienced lots of tiny lil pimples all over cheeks and forhead 3rd week on accutane and how long did it take for those to go it didn't happen 2nd week it was clearer then. I have mild to moderate acne.
  2. I've been taking DIM (Estroblock) for a couple months now. My acne is getting better though I still break out worst before my period and I'm certainly not clear. But I had really bad cystic acne and it is significantly better such that I can occasionally go without makeup and not feel too self conscious. My issue is that my periods have gone from clockwork to early or late and it's driving me crazy. I could always depend on it and mark the day of it's arrival but now it's just a guessing game. M
  3. Right after my period ends my forehead gets super oily right, under the skin bumps appear all over my forehead, and breakouts start appearing on my forehead as well. This lasts for almost a full week and then right after my skin returns to normal, under the skin bumps go away, and the breakouts start to heal and go away. Does anyone know what causes this and how to prevent this from happening? This happens every month and I believe this is what is preventing the skin on my forehead from getti
  4. I never had acne growing up. Maybe the usual one or two pimples during that time of month but thats it. However, for the past 3 years I've been dealing with acne. I started breaking out suddenly at age 18 then started birth control a couple months right after the breakouts started. I've been on birth control up until 6 months ago. I was on the BC pill Lutera which made my skin horrible. I would have 15-20 active pimples all over my forehead ALL the time. When one would go away another one would
  5. Hello, i am new and need some advice/guidance. I am currently 23 female with cystic acne. I have had acne since I was 10-11 started puberty at 9. It wasn't too bad looking back on it it was normal zits that went away. 2 years around I started getting hard lumps on my face that would come to a head. I think I was over drying my skin with over the counter products when I already have dry skin to begin with. Now I am stuck.. I have tried so many options from over the counter to holistic and fitness
  6. Hi there Well I started Roaccutane 3/4 months ago, first two on 20mg last 3 to be 40mg. I haven't had my period since starting the treatment, and I also opted out of the pregnancy protection programme meaning I don't take birth control (due to my young age, I'm only 14 and my mum advised me not to, also I'm not sexually active either). I was reading online and came across a forum where at least 300 people were infertile and all had taken accutane. My derm didn't warn me of this and it is not
  7. I was wondering what you all consider "normal" when it comes to monthly periods. I'm not just talking about getting your period every month, but also in terms of blood flow (sorry for the TMI btw). These past few months, I have been under a lot of stress, but for some miraculous reason I still got my period every month (28-32 day cycles), and my mid-cycle breakouts at approximately the same time each month. The blood flow, however, was different. I would get brown spotting for a few days - somet
  8. Hello folks! I've been a member of acne.org since November 07, when my adult acne started! I was 20 at the time and now I am 24. My skin is starting to break out again...and I've realized some interesting things... and am wondering if anyone can relate! I wrote a blog about my acne, the first one was back in the Fall of 2007 when it started and then after several months, my skin cleared... then two years later in the Fall 2009 it came back again, and I wrote another blog about it... and then
  9. UGH, I hate hormones. I was almost completely clear using Dans Regimen, then my cycle came along and BAM! massive eruption on my chin. Although, they are quite smaller than usual it's still annoying Any ideas as to how this could be cured? I think alot of it has to do with my diet. I crave alot of salty/sweet things when on my period. HELP HELP HELP. Please.....I'm starting to get desperate. By the way, I've been on the regimen for a little over a month.
  10. Hello out there everyone! I'm just gonna jump right in. I'm 23 years old and I swear I thought I'd outgrow this acne. I started having issues with my skin when I was about 13, but back then I was able to get rid of it just by changing my diet (IE, no more sodas like 13 year olds tend to go after, and more water). Everything was calm up until my junior year of high school and my face blew up with a vengeance: painful cystic acne around my chin (it hurt to smile =/) and forehead, redness, w
  11. I'm on my period this week, it's almost over though, but I still got a couple of small new pimples today. Could it be due to my period? Because I only read about people breaking out the week before their period (I do to), but I'm almost on my last day of my period now and I still got some new ones..is this normal? I didn't eat different or something. My skin was completely clear before my period, now it's still decent but I'm worried about this new ones, because I don't know if my period caus
  12. So, when my dermatologist agreed to prescribe me Accutane she didn't say anything about me having to be on my period, even though it says you have to in the ipledge booklet. She even set a date for me to come in and take the second pregnancy test, and she didn't ask me at all about my menstrual cycle. If I was to take it on that date, it would be two weeks before I was to start my period (I'm on birth control). I'm so confused!
  13. Did anyone have their period acne cured by Accutane? I'll be fairly good for most of that month them BAM like 7 cysts in one day on my period. It's horrible and emotionally wrecking. It also takes MONTHS for the cysts to heal ;( I am thinking about a low dose ??
  14. I was prescribed OTC for my mild to moderate acne and severe period cramps as well as irregular period cycles. My acne before i started the pill was concentrated in the TZone area as well as a bit of bumps on my chin. I had tons if black and white heads and zits here and there. I just finished my second month of OTC. I saw no change or anything in the first month. However, while on the sugar pills of my second pack, i started to break out severely. I currently have the worst skin I have had i
  15. Please someone give me some advice because nothing is working for my skin anymore All of a sudden about a month ago I started getting bad acne again all throughout the month EXCEPT a week before my period until the last day of my period. I was using Dan's regimen for probably a year before and all was fine. I would get breakouts around my period but that's normal. Since this started, I started using natural, organic skin care. I'm taking vitamins, specifically zinc, vitamin E and antioxidan
  16. Hello all, I started to use 30mg accutane 16 days ago. I have pcos and my periods got shorter (2-2,5 days) for the last one year. but this month, after using accutane 15 days, it become extremely light. i phoned my dermatologist and he said accutane sometimes may effect periods. should i concern about pcos or early menapouse? i made menapouse test 5 months ago but it came normal. is there anyone who experience period problems while on accutane? Love to all.
  17. Hello! So, I just registered and I hope this works. So, I started taking accutane on the 1st of January 2013. I'm taking 20 mg 5 days a week (Sunday-Thursday). So far, I've taken 5 pills and I'm noticing... side-effects, I guess. Yesterday, I felt pain in my joints. Today, I got chest pain... I know all these are side-effects, I read the informative leaflet. Those are not really what I'm worried out. What I'm stressing over is that my period is due on the 12th... and I usually get PMS sym
  18. I've just turned 33, had annoying constant mild acne since teens. What I've noticed, (but I can't be sure this has always been this way), is my acne completely clears up the day I start my period. Literally, the spots on my face will dramatically reduce and disappear very quickly. My skin will also become much softer, and I suppose 'normal' - this is, I think, how my skin should be if I was healthy:( This will last about a week or two after the end of my period, then sadly back to constant acne.
  19. A little background about me: I have had acne since 3rd or 4th grade, in high school I found out I was celiac, and that helped a lot. After high school I got my wisdom teeth out and and had to take an antibiotic which exploded my skin. I took medication for my acne, which was great, but it gave me period cramps so bad that I would throw up every month. DID NOT WANT TO LIVE LIKE THAT, so I stopped taking it. I was on a mostly vegan with some fish diet with lots of plant-based vitamin A, which wo
  20. okay, so i have been on accutane for 2 and a half monthsa and have been on my period for 2/3 weeks which is really weird cosidering they last 7-9 days (not normal ik but i have PCOS). i've also been getting like 2/3 nose bleeds per day, and have constantly felt tired and i don't want to get off the meds because they've really helped with my acne which i had for 7 years so i dont know whether of not i should go to the doctors to reduce my dosage or if its normal
  21. Hey there everyone I really need some good advice..so, i am a 15 year old girl and i have been on accutane for 4 months this winter, plus the contraceptive pill. Now i'm off it all from 2 months and my T-zone is starting to get fool of little pimples.. i'm just finishing my period and it might be that but i'm still quite scared.. Should have accutane not stopped this happening? Is it normal? I need some advice
  22. I've been taking DIM (Estroblock) for two months. My skin is getting better although still breakout before my period. The annoying this is that my period used to be like clockwork. It was very dependable. Now it's early or late. Kinda making me crazy. Especially when it's late. My tubes are tied so I don't expect pregnancy but I think any woman wonders when she's late. Has anyone else had this side effect? I'm trying to figure out if it's the DIM or just something my body is going through. Thank
  23. Hey girls, I've been googling and googling for days! I've gotten some relief from reading other girls posts on this site. But, I figured I'd post my own experience and hope to get some answers cleared up. So, I started Accutane June 23rd, 2013. (20mg) My first period on Accutane was July 6th-11th. Everything was normal, it ended and that was it. I didn't think anything of it because it wasn't different from any other period. Ten days later I started getting cramps, initially I just blamed it on
  24. I always get these large pimples on my cheek or on chin around my period. They are hard, huge and last weeks. Also they are not like your normal pimples, you cannot pop these guys, you just have to wait it out. Does anyone else get them and how do you get rid of them?
  25. I've had acne flare-ups since I was 10 or so, severe acne when I was 12 and 13. I went on birth control when I was 13 and it cleared up. A little zit or two here and there, otherwise I was clear. I went off birth control in November of 2011, 8 months ago. Within 1 month, I had broken out all over my back, chest, jawline, cheeks, forehead, chin. EVERYWHERE. And it was stubborn as all hell. Nothing fixed it. I had read that it could take up to a year to normalize, but it seemed to only be getting
