  1. Hey guys, I just joined this forum so firstly, hello! Up until a few months ago I've suffered with red raw acne on my cheeks and jawline. I'm no longer a teenager (by a long shot!) so did some research and yes, I'm pretty sure I was a sufferer of adult acne. Luckily I have a wonderful friend in the states who recommended Paula's Choice to me, as she's been using their products for a long while to treat blackheads and the occasional breakout. At first I was a bit cynical about it all
  2. I posted here about two months ago in a desperate attempt to diagnose what the problem with my skin is. Shortly after that I dumbed it down to just having clusters of whiteheads on my cheeks and it must be due to over-drying/over-moisturizing and my skin being confused with the products I use. Ever since I've started using two different products, my skin has changed DRASTICALLY in the most positive way. I started using Paula's Choice BHA Exfoliant 1% in samples in mid-February. I've been u
  3. So I just received my Paula's Choice 2% Skin Perfecting BHA Liquid in the mail and noticed for the first time Salicylic Acid underneath the name. I had rushed to buy it online after hearing glowing reviews for getting rid of those tiny noninflammed bumps, which i have on edge of my face, chin, and forehead ( closed comedones? ..still new at this). So after reading Salicylic Acid I grabbed my Clearasil pads (which don't do anything to combat bumps. Right on the back it lables the active ingr
  4. Ultimately I don't believe that Salicylic Acid nor Benzoyl Peroxide is my skin's cup of tea. My face was not having it, and so last night I washed my face with the Paula's Choice Pore Normalizing Cleanser... which I literally just read has Triclosan in it (antibacterial - but can ultimately lead to super germs). Umm, definitely swapping out that cleanser.. Continuing on, I used some pure witch hazel and some of this toner that I concocted (manuka honey, green tea, tea tree oil, and lemon)
  5. Happy Monday! So, its officially been a month since I started using PC Products. I finally have found a regimen that is working for me and I REALLY beleive in it! I hope it continues to help clear up my skin! I am currently using: PC Clear Normalizing Cleanser morning and night PC Extra Strength 2% BHA Toner morning Cerave Facial Moisutrizer PM (Morning and night) PC 5% AHA Daily Smoothing Treatment PM (before moisturizer) Thats it! So far so good! I had a prety gnarly pur
  6. Hi ya'll! So Friday will be my 1 month mark with PC Clear System/PC products. Last week I left a pitty party entry about how depressed I was becuase of my skin and because I was purging, etc. Well, things have gotten a lot better, not only skin wise, but outlook wise! I realized last week how much my "skin" or more like the emotional side effects of it can control my moods and happiness. I felt ridiculous and was totally freaking out/overreacting and I knew it! However, no matter h
  7. I've been using Epiduo for a few weeks, and was wondering if I could use an AHA/BHA to help control the peeling or if it would be too irritating? I use Epiduo at night and would use the exfoliant in the morning. I also don't really know which one would be best to use and was wondering if anyone had recommendations from the Paula's Choice skin care line? I really don't want something irritating/drying. It just has to control the peeling. I was also thinking about getting an exfoliant for my ba
  8. Hello there. I'm using some acne.org's products which is 16 oz. Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide – 2.5%), Cleanser and Moisturizer. since July. Recently, I'm considering to use retinol which is CLINICAL 1% Retinol Treatment produced by PAULA'S CHOICE. However, I couldn't find any inform about these combination to use. So please someone advise me that it will work or won't work. and something like that. Thank you for reading this. There is product links. CLINICAL 1% Retinol Treatment http://www
  9. So I am deep into the stages of clearing on my Spiro treatment and the biggest problem I have now are closed comedones that are barely visible under the skin but can inflame at any time and come to a head. Most are just sitting there and really is the last things keeping my skin from being smooth and clear. After reading many blogs and reviews, I decided to order Paula's choice 2% gel. I need advice as to how and where to use it in my cleansing routine. should I start one time a day, eve
  10. Hey Guys, Veteran member here. Ive been battling acne since I was a teen, cant remember how young now. I've had 2 courses of accutane and tried numerous topicals. Around 26-27 yrs of age, my acne became very mild and manageable. I've just had my first child, and my skin has steadily gone downhill since giving birth. I am 11 months post-partum and my skin looks the worst it ever has. Over the last 6 months i have tried proactiv, PC BHA 2%, PC BHA 4%, (no BP as this is too damaging to my
  11. Greetings from Bangkok, Thailand. I will try to make this as short as possible. I'm 34 years old, male. I had been on Accutane for 3-4 courses. The first 2 courses I used Roaccutane by Roche. The first course was only 6 months and I was taking 20 mg every 2 days. I do not want to count this as a course because only 45 days after the derm put me off it, acne returned. The 2nd time was good. I was acne free for 2.5 years. The 3rd time I switched to a Chinese brand. Acne f
  12. I am a 32 year old wife and mother of two. I work in healthcare administration. And I HATE that I am still plagued by acne. After years of stalking this website during my battle with acne, I finally decided to join. Here's a little bit about me and my struggle... I started getting mild acne around age 12...very typical of the age and I was convinced that I would grow out of it...my mother swore that I would. I used every remedy that was available at the local CVS to a pre-teen with nothi
  13. Hi everyone, I need your expert advice! I have moderate acne and I have been using Acne.org Regimen for 15 weeks now. I know I have made a mistake in the first week of the regimen, I started too fast with the BP. On the 8th week of the regimen I also started to use AHA at night and it did me a lot of harm than good. I have passed the purging phase and clearing up and breaking out again and clearing up again and so on until now. I seldom wear make up (3 times max a month) and I currently
  14. So...I have been using the Paula's choice clear system for ALMOST 2 weeks now and WOW can i see huge changes in my skin Definitely for the better! So...I decided the 5% BP is way too strong for my skin...I don't know why but every time I used it I would be bright red and burning so I decided to ask for the 2.5% sample instead. BTW her customer service is oustanding...for NO cost they quickly sent me the regular strength CLEAR kit in the mail...well the 2 week sample size but still! So
  15. So I'm into my 4th month of using my regimen and I'll be 30 in a week. It's almost here! This is the last week of my 20's. And while I have a lot of feelings about it, at least one of them is an okay feeling. And that's about my skin. By no means do I have the poreless, scarless, even-toned skin of my dreams. But I think I've come a long way from my teens where I was applying every harsh painful chemical to my face my mother could find. And my 20's where I was jumping from one magic cure to t
  16. Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone else out there has had similar experiences to mine while using Paula’s Choice BHA Products? I’ve been using the Clear Extra Strength 2% BHA liquid for over a month and a half- and all I can say is it absolutely doesn’t do anything for the closed comedones/blackheads I’ve had for a while- and to make matters worse, gives me those red pimples that don’t usually pop. I don’t have inflamed acne at all- I just use bha to help with the blackheads/clogged pores an
  17. Hi there, I'm thinking of switching from Clean & Clear continuous control and blackhead eraser to Paula's choice BHA and BP because I just realised there are irritants in the C&C. The Paula's choice products are both leave on rather than washes so my question is can I apply one on top of the other? And could I then moisturise after that? Thanks, I hope you all clear up soon (also is there a best time of day to apply these products?)
  18. Hello friends, So I finished an Accutane treatment on Christmas day of 2014. I started to gradually get more clogged pores. I have only had one real pimple. My skin texture is just not smooth. I have just been using a mild cleanser and moisturizer. I recently started Differin .1 gel. I am applying it every other night. I have used this in the past, along with Retin A(it made my face so dry and irritated). Do you think I will have an initial breakout? How long do you think it will take to rem
  19. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! With a side of UGH! That is how I have felt this week. I seem to be experiencing a "purging" period with these products. I attribute this not only to using new products but constantly switching and adding things! Part of its my fault and then also your skin also has to adjust to new products so...yeah. But...My skin totally purged like crazy earlier this week. I got like 5 new zits all at once, one being an annoying cyst on my jawline which i can't stand! I hat
  20. So...a little history of Ashley's skin trials and errors: Began getting mild acne age 13-16 very mild but bothersome and constant. Never really followed any regimen. Age 17...moderate acne...began using pro active and hated it. Skin continues to worsen, i take my first trip to the derm and get prescribed doxycycline which clears up my skin in 2 months...until i decide to stop taking the medicine and my acne returns! 18-20 moderate acne...sometimes clearer than others, but constan
  21. So in my last entry, I had stopped using the Paula's Choice BHA weightless body lotion because I went away for a week and didn't bring it with me. I broke out all over my back and had to start using PanOxyl 10% benzoyl peroxide bar soap on my back. I alternated days between using that and using a pyrithione zinc bar soap I bought on Amazon. So one day I'd use the BPO bar, then the next day the zinc bar, and so on. This worked REALLY well on my back. My back stayed super clear. My chest stil
  22. 7 weeks ago I began using the Paula's Choice Extra Strength Acne Kit as a recommendation from one of my fave youtube beauty people. She called it her holy grail and claimed it really helped out her acne. Decided to order it and was super excited to try it out. It consists of the "Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser", an "Extra Strength Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution with 2% Salicylic Acid", and the "Extra Strength Daily Skin Clearing Treatment with 5% BP". I've been using the cleanser 2x a day, b
  23. I was pretty upset yesterday.. my skin was ultra irritated and washing my face at the end of the night was something from a horror film. Everywhere I put any sort of product was red and spotty. Then this morning I came to accept that it was ultimately getting better.. the weird breakouts (I'm sure it's the purging stage) around my mouth are mostly clear and everything looks calmer. It takes a while to see results, I keep telling myself. I think I will stick with this kit until the end
  24. I have been sleeping SO much.. oh my god. I don't even know what's wrong with me! But because of that I think my skin has some extra time to heal at night. And so far last night and this morning I applied all of the wonderful products of Paula's Choice Regular Strength Clear Kit (plus the BHA 9 last night and plan on doing this every other night - applied only to my nose). My skin isn't any different, but that is to be expected. I don't like how they don't really include a moisturi
  25. So i have heard a lot about Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid/gel/lotion. For some it's been an absolute miracle product that finally cleared their skin, and others feel like it's either been not effective or even break them out more. And that's scary to me. Which is why I've come here for help! I have mostly just clogged pores that result in a loooot of closed comedones (skin colored bumps) all over my cheeks, forehead, and chin. Recently some of them have turned into angry red pimples (which i ta
