  1. Hello All, I just recently started Megadosing vitamin B-5 (using 1000mg timed release divided into 4 doses a day for a total of 10g) and am taking a multivitamin (the one a day kind) as well as vitamin c (2 500 mg chewable tablets), both in the morning. Do you guys think the MV and the vitamin C will reduce the effects of the B-5?
  2. i want to know if b5 actually works. anyone tried and had success? let me know! :]
  3. i hate the vitaminshoppe. i ordered a bottle of b5 300 caps and they didnt even mention to tell me that the stuff was on back order and would take like a month to reach my house. i dont have time to wait! i need another bottle PRONTO. does anyone know any good places where i can get some online? thanks much <3
  4. Hello everyone! Let's get back again theory that B5 coenzyme-A reduce oilness skin. Coenzyme-A is made of ATP (energy), cysteine, and pantothenic acid. Of these 3, pantothenic acid is the only one which is a vitamin and must be supplied through the diet. The other 2 are produced by the body. So if you supplement with pantothenic acid you create more Coenzyme-A in your body and your fats get metabolized. A lack of Coenzyme-A in the body means that fats don't get broken down. Instead, they get dep
  5. i personally think it is crazy to take 10 grams of something to try and rid acne. I don't think its crazy to try and rid acne (cause i would do anything to get rid of it), but taking such high doses doesn't seem very smart. After reading about pantethine (the active form of B-5), i'm wondering why people aren't trying it instead of b5? From what ive read, you get a better effect with a lot less to no side effects. Because you only have to take around 900 mg or so of pantethine, there wi
  6. So I'm going to start taking Pantothenic Acid (B5). I'm not going to megadose, I'll start off with 2 pills per day, and I'll work my way up from there. I've heard that it's important to take other B-vitamins as well because it can throw stuff in your system out of whack if you're only taking one B-vitamin and not others. My question is this -- should I just take a B-vitamin complex pill along with my B5 pills? I mean yes, I'll still be receiving way more B5 than I'm receiving any other B vi
  7. Hi there, I am tired of trying to find acne products that work. I have mild acne and every day hate waking up to see how bad it is. I don't eat unhealthily and drink plenty of water and after many attempts of using various facial washes and wipes, cleansers and treatments I have pretty much given up trying to find something that works. For my last attempt (i'll more than likely try something else, always happens) I am trying various Vitamins with Nutrabio too. Here is what I have orde
  8. Hey, New to the site. Well, sort of: I've been reading posts here for a while but I didn't actually get an account until recently. I've found a lot of stories on here similar to mine: people with sensitive skin struggling to gain control of acne problems. Lots of trial and error. Basically, I'm almost 22, and I've had acne problems pretty much since I hit puberty in 4th grade. I actually got some relief from it for a couple years when I hit 17, but the pimples resurfaced when i turned 21. I th
  9. So I am currently taking 1.5 g of b5 daily however I am trying to make sure I am not consuming too much calcium as to deplete my magnesium levels. So by the label it says per 1.5 g of Pantothenic Acid (B5) from Calcium Pantothenate includes 135 mg of Calcium as Calcium Pantothenate so how do I know how much Calcium I am consuming to match an even ration to Magnesium? anyone know? any feedback would be appreciated thanks ------------

  13. Hi all! I have decided to start this log for a few reasons. 1. I want to log my progress on my somewhat newly started "vitamin therapy" particularly Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid. 2. I want to be able to go back and see how much Pantothenic Acid has helped my skin. 3. I'm completely obsessed with my skin and want nothing more than for it to be clear and feel like pouring out all the information I have and my feelings about this will help. Wish me luck! First of all, this log will be in no
  14. I have been on Pantothenic acid for a little over 1 month now. With only a dose of no more than 500mg I was doing great and nearly clear. But recently my skin flared up again. And I don't know what's the cause. I have been eating as usual, exercising as usual and used the same makeup as always. 1. It should be around the time of the month now, so that could explain it. Although it is more than I usually have during menstrual flare up. Is there anything for this? 2. I thought it would be the h
  15. There is a lot of frequent discussion about pantethine and pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) on this, and other, forums and how it might help acne and reduce oiliness etc. The theory is that taking pantothenic acid or pantethine which then gets converted into coenzyme A. Basically: pantothenic acid --> Pantethine --> Coenzyme A. Seeing that supplements exist for pure coenzyme A - why are people not simply taking a coenzyme A supplement instead? Surely that would eliminate the conversion pr
  16. Hi All, here is a quick background on me! I am a 23 year old caucasian male and I have been on Dan's regimen for 3 years now. It has reduced my acne, however it has by no means made me clear. I suffer from mild-medium acne and always seem to have 1 or 2 active pimples (whiteheads) on my face. I tend to pop them so it leaves an ugly red mark which heals within a few days. The regimen is a big pain for me because I am so paranoid about missing an application of BP that it prevents me from enjo
  17. So I have severe acne. Severe to the point where I hate everything. My skin is just horrible and it's been like this for months. Now. My cheeks always hurt and I get whiteheads throughout the day. Here's my question. I recently bought 500 mg of pantothenic acid I also got l-carnitine and a vitamin b complex As a topical cleanser I have proactiv just because it's worked for me in the past Here's the story Yesterday I took 10g of vitamin b-5 and 500mg of l-carnitine and took 1 pill of bi
  18. Hi. I am currently taking the following: Pantothenic Acid (B5) Vitamin C Acetyl-L-carnitine (when this bottle runs out I'll be switching to L-cysteine) L-Methionine The first two are water soluble. None of them say to take with food on their bottles. I've taken them all with and without food, and there are no surface side effects either way... ie: no upset stomach if I take them on an empty stomach. I want to take them all together, except C, that doesn't have to be with the others but
  19. I'm having pretty good results so far. I plan to keep updating every day so be sure to track my progress and feel free to join the experiment if you wish. This is basically a low-dose B5 experiment. In the beginning, my skin was so inflamed and broken out that I could hardly go out in public. Now it's actually not that bad. I did have a severe cystic breakout on the right side of my face when I started, but since most of my acne is centered around my mouth and chin I decided to take each dail
  20. My fellow acne sufferers... I just wanted to point out a few things that perhaps b5 experimenters failed to understand when they decided to add b5 towards their cure for acne. For those of you who didn't see results and gave up-- let me just say a few things and raise some simple questions: 1. From my own personal experience with b5, and from what research I've done- b5 works in 2 different ways- all depending on the person. For some, b5 becomes their quick fix. Meaning, the person tak
  21. A month has passed since I first started taking the B5 regimen for my acne. I started with 6mg per day dosage and for 3 weeks, I noticed that my skin is less oily, though my acne are not completely cleared. Then I went up to 10mg on the 3rd week, hoping I can decrease it after 2-3 months for my maintenance dose. Unfortunately, on the second day of taking 10mg dose, I started having rashes or heat rash on my inner elbow, and 3 days has passed, it again showed on my lower back. There are very itch
  22. I've been reading and it said pantothenic acid is really healthy and good for hormonal acne, which I'm suffering from. It also protects your adrenals. I was taking it for my hormonal acne but stopped after seeing recent reports of bad side effects of this supplement. Note that all these reports were people mega dosing on Pantothenic acid and taking 5-10g. Which is like 5 500 mg pills for 5g. These guys were taking 5-10g for up to 2 years and are going through some really bad permanent side effec
  23. This may be a silly question, but would pantothenic acid or pantethine cause photosensitivity like accutane or other acne treatments?
  24. http://www.nakedjuice.com/main.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naked_Juice My work just started selling these. I picked up one of everyflavor minus the protein because I hear it is chalky. Anyway they are DELICIOUS. What I want to hear is if you guys think it would be benificial to the skin. There are different flavors and each have its own blend of Fruits as well as Vitamins. This one for example is the BLUE MACHINE and it has 0 percent A 2 percent Ca 100 percent niacin 100 percent Fo
  25. I have a question for the girl pantothenic acid users out there in message board land: Does taking 10g of pantothenic acid make your period late? So far I am about 2 weeks late. I started b5 right around my last period one month ago and it hasn't come yet. I do have a boyfriend so sex does happen, but I am on birth control. Has this happened to anyone else or am I the only one?
