  1. Hi everyone, I have been on Accutane for about 9 days now and have been experiencing very bad joint and muscle pain, I only do light exercise so I am sure it is not working out that is causing this. Of course was well aware of all the side effects before I started the medication but having come across this forum just after starting I am now extremely worried and wonder if I should stop the medication. It seems sad as I have been pushing for 4 years to be approved for the drug (on the NHS) an
  2. Hey this is my first log which i will probably update every once in a while So im 16 years old at the moment, had acne since i was probably 12 and it has recently (this year) gotten pretty bad and irritating, with the cystic type popping up. I have tried many antibiotics which didnt really solve the problem but maybe kept it at bay for a while. Heres my cheek from a few weeks ago for reference. http://i.imgur.com/nkQMVHo.jpg I have been on doxy for about a month now but i decided it was
  3. It's been a long four months since I decided to start this regiment, but I feel like I've come a substantial way. I started my own log to document any progress and setbacks I was experiencing during the regiment, as well as to test out any new products I was using. The log comprises the notes from my first five weeks, and then a follow up of where I am today. The most drastic changes occured in the first 5 weeks, and so I didn't feel the need to keep writing past that time. Products you will fi

    Unsure How To Treat

Hello, I have had this outbreak for over a month now, it was smaller before, went away and now has come back in the last month. I am unsure if it is acne as I have had past problems with it, but never this bad. It is quite painful to touch, very irritable and itchy and is unresponsive to any treatment I've tried. I have tried what my dermatologist recommended for past acne outbreaks, Aczone + Atralin, but that is not working. I have been using peroxide to try to sterilize and dry it out, a
  5. My acne brought me to the point of near suicide. I was at my wits end. I felt hideous. Gross. Disgusting. Unwanted. Hopeless. Miserable. It caused me to have panic attacks and anxiety now, finally I have gotten all of this under control and am living my life like a normal human being for the most part. Is my skin perfect? No. Is my emotional state 100% stable all the time? Definitely not. But I am coping and I want to help others know that they're not alone so I've started to d
  6. After putting treatment and moisturizer, I felt pain on my entire part of my facial skin. This pain last longer than I expect to be. It last more than 3 hours. I have not had this kind of pain before. I never had any pain using other brand of moisturizer. Therefore, someone pls help me.

    Hormones? What Is It?

Someone please help! I am so desperate… Ill give you a brief history of my acne story. I started getting one or two pimples in 6th grade and its progressed as I got older. At the time they were small and easy to cover up with powder. Towards the end of 8th grade I woke up one day with a patch of pimples down my cheek.. I thought it was a rash.. So that basically began the struggle I have till this day a Senior in high school. My acne is different from lots of pimples because a lot of ti

  12. I am on my 1st week of the regimen, I just got my package on Monday. A lot of people say that the BP usually stings a little for them. But when I started using the BP, it did not sting or burn for me at all. In fact, the moisturizer stung a little and tingled my lips, but nothing that bad. It didn't make my face red and it makes my skin soft. I am just concerned if the BP is working for me at all?
  13. HI! My questions to those who are finally " cured" from the acne now, or feel better and have it under control. If you could send a message to yourself back then when you were suffering from acne and feeling very horrible, what would it be? Please share.
  14. I’ve started taking Myorisan (accutane) on 40mg a day. I get pretty brutal cramps during my period and although I really try not to, I tend to have to take something in order to function (Advil/Tylenol/Aleve). I’m getting pretty bad cramps now but I’m too afraid of taking something to relieve them... won’t this put too much stress on my liver? What is the safest way to find relief? Pls help lol

    Painful Reddening

I've been on the regimen for 8 days now. I saw some quick results the first couple of days. However just as I increased the BP dosage to twice a day to start off week #2, I started feeling severe burning in the sensitive parts of my face (about an inch under my eyes right by both sides of my nose). This pain lasts for about 2 to 3 hours after my evening routine and isn't nearly as severe as when I apply BP in the morning. What's the reason for this? Has this happened to anyone else? I don't mi
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9qX4ao4yjU Hey everyone my name is Connor. I took Accutane for 5 months, 80 mg a day when I was 17 years old. I am now 19 and in the past few months have taken my recovery seriously and have made some great progress. I am feeling better now. I would like to share some experiences and what is working for. The main points I a want to get across are: You can recover. It is entirely possible. Depending on the how hard you work will determine how fast you improve.

    Back Pain!

Last time I wrote about the obnoxious pimples that were surfacing out of nowhere, and luckily they went away quite quickly except for the monster on my forehead that I kept picking at...my fault, I know. So during my Absorica journey, I've been following other peoples blogs, Instagrams etc. and I kept reading about how people have had horrible back pain but never understood what they meant because I never had it. I chalked it up to me only being on it for 2 months and figured the worst had y

  21. I had a really small painful bump on my back for the past few weeks. As it is blocked from my view, i thought it would be a normal acne. But after it had been sitting on my back for a while and hurt me when i hit something against it, i started to look over it in the mirror. There was a bump and nothing showed up on the skin to indicate anything. And it felt like there is something inside as i rubbed my fingers against it. Now it is not like the normal white head that we squeeze out of the acne.
  22. Hi, about a month ago my doctor prescribed the combination of Epiduo and Eryacne. My morning routine is simply to cleanse with a non-comedogenic cleanser, and then moisturise; at night I'm to cleanse, put on epiduo, eryacne, and then moisturise again. My doctor warned me that i wouldn't see any changes within the first 4 weeks or so and that it may cause mild irritation but miraculously the majority of my acne cleared up within the first week and I didn't experience any irritation, I had to stop
  23. Hey everyone! So I'm new here and this is my first post. I just started my accutane course yesterday, and I am taking 40mg of Claravis once a day. Last night I noticed I had some muscle pain about an hour after I took my first pill, is this normal? I looked at the list of side effects and it had muscle pain under the severe category so I'm a little worried now. If anyone with experience could give their input that would be great!

    Help With Cystic Acne

Hi, First of all, I need to apologize for my English. English is not my native language, so I’m prone to make some mistakes. I’m 28 years old and never really had much problems with acne. When I was 18-19 I had a few cysts, but they disappeared after two visits with a dermatologist. He gave me benzoyl peroxide and an antibiotic cure (minocycline). The acne wasn’t that bad to start with but the cysts hurt and obviously I didn’t like them. When the acne didn’t come back, I didn’t go back to
  25. So I don't have acne on my face but I have backne. The doctor prescribed me with benozyl peroxide 2.5%. I had a spot yesterday on my face so I thought what the hell let's put some of this on the area. I applied a generous amount. This morning I woke up to my skin being extremely dry. It then started to peel off leaving redness and it's incredibly sore. I noticed that it's taken the first layer of skin off too. I'm so worried that I've damaged my skin now. Help!!! What do I do?
