  1. This morning I awoke to the realisation that last night I had missed a "dose" of my differin 0.1% cream, I was very worried that my skin would look awful because of this, but to my surprise it looks a lot better than it did yesterday? Is this something that can happen? And what do I do today since I missed a dose? Some other information: I've been using the differin cream alongside Oxytetracycline (2 morning, 2 night) for 2 months now and have never missed a dose of either.
  2. Hi all, This is my first ever post on acne.org. Today I have been prescribed oxytetracycline which I believe is an antibiotic which must be taken orally. Along with this my GP has told me to use 'acnecide' which is basically a brand of benzoyl peroxide 5%. Has anyone who has taken either of these medications (or both) had any success, and if you so how long did it take to see improvement? Thanks
  3. Around 8 months ago at the age of 35 I started getting really bad acne including cysts around my jaw, chin and on my neck. I went to the doctor who put me on Oxytetracycline which made no difference. I had started increasing my milk intake from around a spash in a cup of tea or coffee to drinking around 1-2 pints a day as my personal trainer said I needed to get more calcium in my diet. When the antibiotics failed to work I googled milk / Adult acne and found lots of forums about it c
  4. Just wondering whether this is generally seen as a "strong" treatment for acne or a moderate one. All responses welcome
  5. Hey, so I've had oily skin and acne for about a year now, but only recently went to a GP in the UK. He prescribed me Oxytetracycline 2 x 250mg tablets twice per day and Duac Once Daily Gel to apply at night. However, as positive as I'm trying to be I want to know if these tablets will work even if I have really oily skin, like literally my face will look sweaty 45 minutes after washing, ew. Thank you for any feedback.
  6. So, just popped along to the doctors to discuss my cystic acne on my jaw line/chin area. Previously I was prescribed the oral antibiotic Oxytetracycline which worked a treat but this time she has recommended that I try Zineryt which is an Erythromycin-Zinc solution that you apply to the skin. Has anyone had any experience with this ointment? And what were your thoughts and results?
  7. Hi Everyone, Just joined up and thought I would share my experiences so far ... I've suffered from acne on and off since about the age of 15, and I'm now almost 25. I've tried many things, but it always seems like a constant battle. When I was 15, I used topical erythromycyin which worked really well. After a while of using it, my acne didn't come back until I was 18, and I started taking the pill. This had good results, however completely messed up my menstrual cycle, so I stopped t
  8. Hello, I've never posted on an acne forum but I really need some advice. Back in 2009 I started taking tetralysal for my acne and in a few months it cleared up. I stopped taking it after about 8 months because I felt I no longer needed it and my doctor said I could just stop taking it. Plus it was upsetting my stomach and I was worried what the antibiotic was doing to it. I still used the cream they gave me though. I had a great 6 or so months with no acne and then it returned. I started ta
  9. Hi all - I am new to the forum. After suffering for years with mild-severe acne I have been diagnosed with rosacea (at 18 years old). My derm is one of the top in the UK and has put me on 1500 mg oxytetracycline per day for 4 weeks, stepping down 250mg (1 pill) every 4 weeks for a total of 12 weeks, all in one dose at night. He has also given me a topical. I have been doing this for 11 days. I have never been on this particular tetracycline but have tried lymecycline and doxycycline for a

This is the second week after switching from Duac once daily to oxytetracycline and differin. It's been a terrible week for my face since the initial breakout stage for differin is happening. Also, due to stress for my coming exams i'm having extreme breakouts.

Start of new medication oxytetracycline with differin cream 0.1%. I would say, not much has changed however, i have stopped breaking out as much and so i'm guessing the meds are working.
