  1. Hi everyone, This is my first time writing on this website and I just wanted to get some feed back from the users. I'll start off by saying that I have struggled with acne for almost 10 years. I have used almost every over the counter medication, been to numerous dermatologists, spent weeks hiding in my room after acne peels, and as a last ditch effort to cure my acne started a cycle of Accutane. My acne is now at bay but I still get occasional breakouts around 'that time of the month' and al
  2. Can anybody recommend a sunscreen that wont break you out?!? I have reallly oily skin, plus Im taking medication that makes my skin super sensitive to the sun. Please Help!!!
  3. Hello , I have a question . Stridex or oxy pads ? As of right now I cleanse with Cetaphil normal to oily skin cleanser , use a Stridex maximum pad , then use Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisterizer . Ive used this for about 2 months and seen pretty good results , but wonder if oxy is the better product . The only reason I use Stridex right now is becuase it is 100 % alcohol free . ( oh yes I am a 14 year old male who exercises regularly and does not consume dairy , if it helps ) . Please reply
  4. I don't have the worst acne in the world, i just have a lot of pimples (like 15-17). i have been using clean and clear 10% benzoil peroxide for a long time but didnt see much improvement. i went to the doctor a little over 2 weeks ago and he gave me .01% (yes i realize that is the lowest dosage) and an antibiotic called ERY-tab 500 mg (to my knowledge this is the highest dosage). is it ok to keep using the clean and clear wash? i feel like it helps a ton because my face gets super oily and greas
  5. I’ve started using Differin again after not using it for around 6 months (I’ve currently used it for around a week). I’ve noticed that yes, my acne has decreased, but now my face has is starting to peel, it’s red in the areas I moisturize and apply the Differin to, and I heel scratchy and hot around my jaw line. This didn’t happen before, so should I stop or switch to a new lotion and wash?

Hopefully, I'll be able to post a better looking picture in a couple of months
  8. I literally have tried every possible solution. I have had acne for over 20 years now and I know first hand the emotional damage that alters your personality and causes terrible depression. Often I have just wanted to die or live alone forever. I have tried every single product on the planet and nothing worked. I was having some other health issues that led me to take a product called plexus. It partly involved a pro biotic and a bio cleanse pill that I took every day. That stared help
  9. I've posted previously about not being able to find a moisturizer that works for my combo and very acne-prone skin after Spectro got discontinued. Many people have suggested Cetaphil and Cerave. I'm a little bit skeptical about this as there are a lot of mixed reviews online. Also, some of their products' ingredients are listed 3-5 on the comedogenic scale. Please help

    Need advice.

I just need some advice. What are some good home remedies or over the counter medications that can fade dark acne scars. I have a bit of them on my forehead but they show signs of fading. Any recommendations?
  11. I've just finished my last refill of Epiduo. It's the only thing that has work on my breakouts so I'm sad to see it go. My acne isn't bad enough to go back to the dermatologist so I need a new, over-the-counter acne cream that works as well as Epiduo. Anyone have any suggestions?!

    Almost 30, Still Need Help

Hi, If anything I ask has been answered already, which I'm sure it has, would someone mind linking the previous post, so I don't waste your time in having you answer it again? I'm almost 30, and still pop pimples nearly everyday. My skin isn't awful and for the most part is under control, but I still don't have the greatest skin for a lot of people my age, especially when looked at real closely. Throughout the years I've tried prescribed topical stuff, and for the last six years I've
  13. I keep hearing everyone talk about how acne.org talks about substitute products. Now I don't know if it's because I'm in Canada... but I don't see this information ANYWHERE! All I want to know is a good and comparable substitute for the acne.or cleanser and moisturizer. So if anyone can answer that for me or link me to that information that would be SUPER! I love the benz and I will keep on that but shipping is around 30$.... so it's really not ideal to be getting orders very often with that pri
  14. (16, female) I've been suffering with acne for over a year now, but it feels like a lifetime, I honestly don't remember what it feels like to have clear skin, though I don't have acne any where near as worse as a lot of people, it's still there and it still knocks my confidence, though I try to forget about it. My acne is mainly on my cheeks, which, because there's no bone, hyperpigmentation is left behind after every. single. spot. And stays for such a long time, it looks horrendous. I've tried

  18. Does anyone have experience with the Clearogen brand and/or the soniclear brush?
  19. Does anyone have experience with The Body Shop face products? Ive heard great things about the tea tree mask and the tea tree gel to spot treat but was not sure if anyone has had experience with their other facial products ? (ie the tea tree perfecting serum, tea tree daily facial cleanser, the vit e hydrating toner, the vit e overnight moisture cream, the vit c daily moisturizer, the stay matte tea tree daily moisturizer) Any help would be appreciated!!
  20. Ok so I have moderate to severe acne and I have a lot of whiteheads that I can never get rid of due to an old face wash that I've used , I recently bought the NEUTROGENA oil free stress control toner & ive been using it for about 1 week and I've been breaking out like crazy ! Idk if it's purging because there is 2% salicylic acid in it or if I'm just breaking out because it's not working ! I thought maybe my little whiteheads are turning to pimples and will soon disappear ? Idk I need answer
  21. Long story short, after a TON of trial and error I have found out it's my sunscreen that has been irritating my skin. I am looking to start fresh with a CHEMICAL-free, that is a Physical sunscreen, that is good for us acne prone people. Ideally it would absorb well, not leave a white residue, and of course, not cause breakouts. There are so many brands out there I really need some fresh ideas or personal experiences. Thanks
  22. Hey there! I just stumbled across a blog that talks about a "vitamin cocktail" that helped clear her acne. Consists of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Zinc and Borage Seed Oil Here is the link: *Moderator edit, URL removed – please read the board rules* Basically, she went to a holistic dermatologist who then put her on these supplements and she claims her skin cleared up! So, I'm very interested in trying this "cocktail" daily and seeing what my results are. I think it's an excellent change
  23. What is the suggested dosage for over the counter L-lysine to help keep acne under control ? What is the suggested dosage for Vitamin E taken orally to help control acne ? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks !
  24. How I got rid of my arm acne, already posted on a discussion but it's old so don't think many will see . DISCLAIMER: This worked for me but might not neccesarily work for everyone, as everyones skin is different! But you’re welcome to try, and if this helps even one other person it will put a smile on my face. I live in the UK, so the products and prices listed are from the UK. For anyone not lucky enough to be stuck on a rainy island lol, ive tried to make the descriptions of the products c
