  1. Hi guys, This is my first post here because I have no idea what to do about my face anymore. I had picture perfect skin just 2.5 months ago, now my skin is dripping oil, constantly breaking out. I made an apt for bc but I don't know which one to go on, or if I even truly need it. I have a fee breakouts constantly now, but 11 days before my period (every month now) I get tons of breakouts, especially around my eyebrows and my cheeks, and lots of small pimples on my chin and jawline. I use a
  2. Hello! So today marks the day my package from drugstore.com arrived and I can't wait to start my new skincare routine. So, a little background info. I've been struggling with breakouts since I was a pre-teen. Got really bad around age 16-18 and then after taking an antibiotic for a short period of time it cleared up. I am now 19 and it is back (not nearly as bad, but still, back). I have been wanting to go on accutane the past few years but my insurance does not cover it and it's been h
  3. Hi! I just created this log to see how my acne behaves and maybe help other people who have the same doubts about this type of birth control pill. I have moderate acne and I've tried to control it with natural things. I started taking them on April 10, they are called Gynorelle but are almost the same as Belara* and they have 2mg Chlormadidone acetate + 0.02mg Ethynilestradiol. The Chlormadidone Acetate is the antiandrogenic component and there's 24 active pills and 4 placebos. I'll post u
  4. So many people have said that green tea is excellent for the skin. I have suffered from acne that can range from being mild, moderate and moderately severe. Currently my skin has completely cleared up and I'm doing my best to keep it this way. I have come across this pill called "Tegreen 97" by pharmanex. You may want to read this for how green tea impacts acne.. http://www.stopacne.com/herbal-remedies/green-tea-acne-treatment.htm And I am a believer of the statement that green tea defin
  5. Hey I thought i'd share a post from my blog, I cannot link you to my blog (acne.org rules) but i'm sure that if you look me up on Google you will find my blog! "Come down to the surgery and I will sort your skin out with some tablets"-- Dr. Barnsley said as he pulled my toenail off. I knew little at the time about acne and the treatments-- I was a "newby". I trusted any drug that the doctor would ever prescribe me at that and age not even consider the down sides, I just did wha
  6. Hey guys, I've been on tetralysal 300mg for 8 weeks now, and haven't noticed any improvement. I have also been using a combination of Akne-mycin in the evening (0.25% tretinoin, 4% eromycin) and 5% benzoyl peroxide in the morning for 3 weeks. My skin is flaking a bit so I am using the cetaphil high tolerance moisturiser, which my GP recommended. The thing is, it contains almond oil and feels extremely thick and very, very oily. I honestly don't know if it's breaking me out, because I seem to
  7. Hey there! I just stumbled across a blog that talks about a "vitamin cocktail" that helped clear her acne. Consists of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Zinc and Borage Seed Oil Here is the link: *Moderator edit, URL removed – please read the board rules* Basically, she went to a holistic dermatologist who then put her on these supplements and she claims her skin cleared up! So, I'm very interested in trying this "cocktail" daily and seeing what my results are. I think it's an excellent change
  8. Hi all. On the product reviews page, there are some very high reviews for Vitamin E, but these are mainly for topical application. Some people have had breakouts with topical vitamin E due to possibly clogging pores, which I think has scared some people away from trying oral Vitamin E despite some very good reviews within the topical reviews. There has been a lot of speculation that Vitamin E orally could increase all-risk mortality. I've had a good look into it and it appears that these fin
  9. Let me preface my post by saying that I had been suffering through near-continuous acne for a pretty long period of time before I was prescribed Ceftin by my dermatologist (probably since the last few years of junior high school), and in fact, this antibiotic was the first one prescribed by the dermatologist because I dropped my last one after years of almost zero results thanks to his prescriptions and advice. When I say "advice," I'm being generous... it was more like "talk for two minutes abo
