  1. Always checking up on this forum as I've been suffering with acne/blemishes on and off since I was around 15 (am now 23!), but this is my first post.. Just interested to know what experiences you guys have had with certain oils? For instance, I'm pretty sure it was from this website that I first started looking at using oils as a cleanser/moisturiser a few years ago, and I started off using Jojoba after the glowing reviews it had. For the first few days my skin and hair felt absolutely unbelie
  2. A place for little good to know things. Because I just came across a good one: Sniff Test to tell if Oil is Rancid Check all commercial products made with oil for toxicity before you eat them by doing the “oil sniff test.” If the oil is rancid, it’ll smell similar to oil paint, which is actually oxidized linseed oil. If you get a hint of this odor in anything that has fat content, whether it’s nuts, whole-wheat flour or oils themselves, don’t eat it. Rule of thumb about Antioxidants in
  3. Hi guys! i just made an account and just now found out about acne.org and really wanted to try out the three step regimen. The problem is i wear foundation every single day due to the acne scars i have and acne but, i didn't see anything about removing makeup. I know acne.org stress es not to irritate skin when using the regimen but i don't think i can go out without makeup but i also want to see results! I remove my makeup with cotton pads and the garnier miscellar water but even that makes m
  4. so i've always had an oily face but in the past year it's gotten worse. like literally makes me look like i'm sweating and it's disgusting. i use blotting papers, i wash my face, i do wear make up all the time but even when i'm not wearing make up i still get super oily. idk i just need help with controlling it. especially now since it's summer. what are some things you guys have found that works for you??
  5. I haven't typed in my blog in a while and felt it deserved a wee update. I have stopped using Azelaic acid, I stopped it about a month ago now actually, to be totally honest Im not really sure what it did for me. It did decrease the redness of my acne a little bit and made some of my spots smaller. Now looking back on it though and looking at some pictures of my skin, I notice that the Azelaic Acid actually made me purge. It purged my skin out a hell of alot actually. Weirdly enough it doesn'
  6. hi guys i used the regimen for a few days .. but i need to exfoliate my face to make it smooth when i will do my makeup so how do i do that without irritation ?? especially my nose seems nasty with oils and its peels please help
  7. Hey guys, I have recently found a natural way to clear up my skin and I thought I would share it and my research that led me to my discovery. I have probably been struggling with acne since I was 18 or 19 and I am now 26. It's been a bumpy road (no pun intended) but I think i finally found a routine that will help me keep my skin clear. I have tried every acne product out there and the only things that has ever kept my skin clear was birth control and retin a. The only problem with that is th
  8. Hi guys, I'm struggling really hard to find a cleanser in the UK. I've looked at alot and they have alot of pore clogging stuff! (i do the dkr regimine , using panoxyl and cetaphil cream) just cant get a cleanser! I used to use acne.org cleanser, but since customs in UK lowered the Custom value fee to anything over £15 gets a charge, anything i order now will come with a huge customs fee of £22 it's terrible. I can't get hold of cetaphil anymore either the product has come so hard to
  9. Hi everybody! I'm new here and need help. I've recently decided I want to use only oils in my skincare routine. I've already ordered argan oil to help with acne, dry skin and anti aging. I've used it before and I find it heavy, so I'm going to use it at night. I need help with picking another oil for the morning that will work great under makeup. I would like another oil that addresses the same three concerns mentioned before, but that is light, absorbs quickly and works well under makeup. I'm 3
  10. The reason people often swear off using oils on their skin is because they're choosing the wrong ones. The chemical composition of the oil they use is especially important- every skin type requires a different ratio of linoleic:oleic acid, and it's your job to find out which one works best for you. As many who are familiar with this topic know, oleic acid is your omega-9 fatty acid, whereas linoleic acid is your omega-6 fatty acid. According to research, "Acne patients have... been shown to ha
  11. Hello there! This is my first post. I regularly look through the forums for guidance, so I finally decided to join since I spend so much time here. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with cleansers that aren't foaming, such as cleansing balms, cleansing waters, or oils? I've always used a foaming cleanser, but I always feel like my skin is being stripped.. especially lately, as I've been using Tazorac 0.05% and it dries my skin out. Since I'm so used to using foamy ones (I u
  12. Hey guys! I really need your help! I've been reading about argan oil and I really want to try, but some people say it could be comedogenic, while some say it doesn't block your pores at all. I intend to use it as a moisturizer. I have inflamed, and quite severe, acne, but I'm trying to get better via the natural route! (I really don't want to take accutane) So what are your experiences with argan oil? Or what have you heard about it? Does it block pores and cause more breakouts? Or does it reall
