    Oil Moisturizer (Ocm)

Back again with another attempt to clear my skin. Over the year I've tried no fap, increased water intake, caveman water wash regimen , supplements, excercise, diet and still break out. However, I continue to commit to those methods because they benefit my life in different ways. I don't wash my face with soap or cleanser, I've been on water caveman regimen for roughly 3 months. However recently started moisturizing my skins with sweet almond oil, hemp oil, coconut oil, a little Shea butter af
  2. Does anyone use the Oil Cleansing Method w/ Dan's BP? If so how? Do you still use a cleanser? Which oils do you use? Has anyone tried tea tree oil for acne? Results?
  3. Ive heard some very good things about oil cleansing, and some very bad things. Some people seem to say that after a while,(few weeks, months) they get clogged pores/breakouts/dry skin I was wondering if it's because oil cleansing is more like exfoliating,(removing deep oils in skin/massaging dead skin), and exfoliating often or everyday will dehydrate your skin. or do oils, specifically olive oil, clog pores?

Many people use oils (ideally cold pressed organic 100% pure) as a replacement of skincare, or as a step in it. Yes, such words as organic, all natural, full of vitamins and minerals sound really good and people leading organic lifestyle propagate the usage of those. You know, there are oils that can clog your pores. They do so by increasing follicular hyperkeratosis—an increased production of keratin in hair follicles. Over time, this leads to clogged follicles and comedones. Thus, oils
  5. Hi, I've been doing the oil cleanse method for 3 weeks now and I've noticed the acne on my forehead is getting worse and worse. I don't know if my skin is purging or if it is breaking out so I'm not sure whether to try something else or stick with it? But this is definitely the worst my acne has been. The acne on my cheeks does seem to be a little better though but my forehead is like 5X worse. I'm thinking of trying African Black Soap. Any advice? Should I carry on? Is this purging or are my po
  6. Hello, As most of you guys here I have been suffering from acne since 6yrs now and I have used every products out there. Oral medication, retin-a, obagi nu derm, PCA, PC, clean&clear etc. Obagi did clear my skin but i started getting peels done to get the perfect skin I wanted. In the end I ended up with the worst skin I have ever had. My skin is super dehydrated but there's alot of over production of oil from using all sorts of drying products. Long story short I stopped using all chemi
  7. Like many of you, I've been battling acne since puberty (I'm 18 now). A brief history: I have oily, acne-prone, somewhat sensitive skin. I used the Clean&Clear acne line for years, mostly the 10% BP one in the purple bottle and sometimes the exfoliating one in the green bottle. I followed with witch hazel sometimes, Clindamycin gel, and Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture (now I realize it wasn't that good of a moisturizer). It kept my acne mild-moderate but I've never been without whiteheads on my
  8. Been a longtime stalker of this site, you've all provided me with endless advice with my acne. Just could do with some help right now 2/3 months ago I had pretty good skin, by that I mean a spot once every 1.5 weeks. I have a picking compulsion oops, (that's a different matter) but my routine handled it. Cleanse and Polish (Liz Earle), and a clay+salicylic wash (clean and clear). I can't even recall any other products I used, I honestly can't. Around 5 weeks ago, a few days before my exams

  10. Day 46- Retin A oh the struggle. I have been using my retin a everyday for over two weeks and damn is my skin peeling. I am the human snake. It is not particularly red or irritated looking but I wake up with flakes, scrub them all off, moisturize, put on light make up. By mid afternoon my skin looks alittle dry and my make up looks alittle uneven and by nighttime you can tell the entire top layer of my skin is flaking off and shedding. My skin is cycling unbelievably fast, I cannot understand ho
  11. 12 Week update: A couple of weeks ago I started using Cerave moisturizing cream (the one in the big tub). My skin was so dry I was putting on two thick layers before going to bed at night and one more in the morning. I stopped using aloe and any of the oils because honestly I just felt like they were making my breakouts worse. In terms of dryness and peeling the Cerave cream saved my face. It moisturized in a way nothing else I have tried has, better than coconut oil, aveeno, or the regular Cera
  12. So here's my deal, I use to have moderately bad hormonal acne (inflamed) to the point where I couldn't take it anymore. So I started experimenting (as well as starting birth control pills). I've come up with a regimen that keeps my inflamed acne in check, however I'm still struggling with the non-inflamed stuff, mostly blackheads on my nose. Here's what I do: Morning: Witch Hazel astringent Olay SPF 15 Daily Moisturizer for normal skin Night: OCM with Sweet Almond Oil and Castor Oil
  13. I discovered this blog here on OCM and all the negative experiences these women had that exactly matched my own. - Read all the comments - http://beautyeditor....e-on-your-skin/ Around April of 2012 my boss told me about OCM and finally convinced me to try it so I bought castor oil in the drug aisle and mixed it with my extra virgin olive oil in the kitchen. I used it off and on maybe once every 2 weeks for several months...never noticed a major effect but did start noticing slightly more cl
  14. Ok so alittle over a month in. My skin is less dry flakey all the time but still alittle peely. My biggest problem is the stress of medical school is making my face picking really bad and I am giving myself scars picking at very small or nonexistent clogged pores. The honey really helps heal my face wounds and keep my skin plump and hydrated even with the retin a. This is my second time breaking my skin into retin a and so far nothing has worked as well as a gentle clensor as this raw honey!

    skin history

back story on my skin: start of high school is when i was getting more pimples (started getting them at age 13-14 but they were small and only one would pop up at a time and they'd go away on its own). Throughout high school i would get pimples on my forehead that seemed to group together, though they weren't big cystic ones, they were still red and inflamed and making my life less enjoyable. At this time I got my first job and was finally able to afford those drugstore spot treatments. I star

    New Regimen: Honey!

I had been using the OCM at night and honey in the morning. It wasn't doing much for my skin and I had been breaking out recently do to forgetting my cleansers at my house and having to use something different so I decided to ditch it all and go more simple. The honey I had been using was Aunt Sue's Honey which is the best raw honey you can buy at Krogers. It wasn't making it worse but it wasn't making it better, and I would still break out. So I went to Whole Foods and got the best raw honey I

    Oil Cleansing Method

At the risk of sounding like a nutter who jumps from one crazy scheme to the next I was looking into the oil cleansing method. Firstly I AM NOT suggesting or encouraging anyone to do this I would just like to discuss the possibilities. I would never persuade anyone into doing any regime as so many of these treatments seem to make the problem worse. from all the reviews it seems it either works a miracle, unblocking pores, blackheads like nothing else or totally wrecks people's face. It works

    Not popping spots challenge

I'm Charlie, I have mild to moderate acne on my chin and around my mouth which I assume is due to hormones:(. I have a terrible habit of popping and picking my spots which I know makes them much worse and obviously spreads the bacteria causing more spots. So, I'm going to start the 'no touching acne challenge', I aim to do it for this month and see if it helps and hopefully carry it on after the month is over! My facial routine (in case you were wondering) : .In the morning I just splash my f
  19. I am almost two months in, and I am having an absolute melt down. My skin is so much worse than it has ever been. After a week without too many new breakouts but deep flaking and constantly redness stinging and blotchiness I started doing coconut oil twice a day under my aloe vera and washing with sunflower oil instead of face wash or honey. I will say it helped with the blotchiness and peeling alot, and helped center myskin back to normal in terms of dryness. However, for the past couple of day
  20. So I started OCM two weeks ago with tea tree and castor oil. Everything was working awesome oil production seem to cut down and everything this was testing the waters after acne.org regimen has worked. I tried OCM because I was trying to see if it helped with my oil production and shut my acne down. Then one day I tried using Dr. Bronners tea tree oil soap for some reason and what a TERRIBLE idea that was. The next day seriously i saw acne progressively and aggressively creep back with a vengean
  21. Edit: read the last post if you want to see what has finally worked for me! Link for pictures too. After being in very low spirits about my skin, I researched the Internet for what seems like half the day yesterday. While reading over a post on acne.org, labeled, "The bad list", I realized the natural organic crap I've been using as a face wash, contained 2 comedogenic ingredients, at the top of the ingredients list. smh. What was I thinking?! Instead of sulking, I tried really hard to
  22. I read positive things about the OCM and since I always tend to break up a bit during the summer (looking back this is nothing), I decided to try it last October. 10 days into it (I used jojoba & castor oil) I noticed that I started to break out. I immediately stopped the OCM. 6 weeks later I had horrible cystic acne all over my chin that kept getting worse by the day and started to expand to my cheeks and neck. I have never had acne like this before; never more than maybe 2-3 pimples at a t

    My acne-treatment journey

This is my first time v-blogging on this website! I've read many articles but I never thought about joining you guys!! I'm gonna try to keep it short but make sure to mention everything... I'm 19 years old and I have a semi-sensitive and oily skin. I have suffered from mild to severe acne and whiteheads since 13. During my middle school, I used a lot chemical products to clear my skin and none worked at all. Starting high school I fell in love with natural remedies so I started trying dif
  24. I've been struggling with acne since I was 11 and I am now 15. It's gotten worse and worse over the years. First it was on my nose then my forehead, then it started on my chin, now theres a little on my temples and its all on my cheeks and chin. So I decided to stop being lazy and finally go holistically. I have tried endless different products so obviously if none of them can get it right then I'm probably not going to cure my acne with products. I was using the OCM at night and honey in the mo
  25. If you have chronic acne, you know that walking down the face care aisle can be a nightmare. There are only 12,000 choices when it comes to acne wash and so much conflicting information surrounding acne care and products. It can get really confusing and to be honest, I’m still not sure what’s “right” and “wrong” for my face. In high school, antibiotics did the trick, but I think they destroyed my stomach. In college, apparently lack of routine and living on pasta was working for a wh
