  1. Recently I became curious about the claim that silicone is occlusive and causes acne, so I decided to take a look at some information on it, and share it with you guys. Any thoughts? It'd be nice to see what everyone's opinion on silicones and acne is. According to Cosmetics Cop by Paula Begoun, there's scientific evidence and reasoning that shows that silicones do not suffocate skin or clog pores: "... the molecular structure of commonly used silicones makes it impossible for them to su
  2. Has anyone found a sunscreen or even a moisturizer with SPF that hasn't broken them out or worsened acne? If you could suggest some brands or products that would be great! I've been avoiding sunscreen/ SPF because a lot of people say it does break them out - but I feel like by not using it I'm setting myself up for premature skin ageing or skin issues worse than acne (such as skin cancer). I know I really should be using one, especially because it's always sunny here and I have pale skin.
  3. Hey everybody, I am looking for a very sheer makeup that doesn't break me out. I have sensitive skin and I am currently on the regimen. Basically just looking for something to give me a little more evenness without cakeyness. I just seen a commercial for the brand Covergirl Clean Sensitive Skin and so I hurried and went on to their website and this makeup is fragrance and oil free, noncomedogenic, and nonacnegenic... Sounds perfect! but just need some comments from anybody who has wore this make
  4. Google "comedogenic ingredients" so you can now what to look out for--ethylhexyl palmitate and what-not. Triderma makes an aloe moisturizer that isn't a miracle, but it doesn't break me out--I think it's Triderma Redness Relief. I am unable to wear it under makeup. Eucerin's products for sensitive skin are decent; and Olay Complete SPF moisturizer has never given me trouble, either. Cetaphil has a moisturizer specifically for oily skin, as does Clean and Clear (but it has .5% salicylic ac
  5. Does anyone have recommendations for a rich, heavier moisturizer that I could use for scaly skin/dry patches? I'm using Tazorac for my closed comedones and my skin is very dry. Im currently using Nivea creme on my dry patches but I'm not so sure that it won't clog my pores. I've also used Aquaphor in the past, but have heard of it breaking people out. Finally, I've used Cetaphil lotion in the tub and I'm pretty sure it's caused more comedones to form. I'd like to use something that is very hyd
  6. What other facial cleansers and moisturizers are like the ones in the regimen? After I get clear skin I would like to buy only the treatment and different moisturizer and cleanser just like those ones. And please don't mention Cetaphil, not a big fan of that.
  7. I just don't get it! The only thing I do get is that people with tiny pores, are kind invisible cause nothing can get in them, but I don't get it. Are molecules to big to clog pores, and then jus the right size to clog pores? I mean people say vaseline doesn't clog pores..or castor oil... I mean if you have excessive skin cell production then oil could trap skin cells…and people with normal skin growth won't have excessive skin cell build up I guess How long does a product have to
