  1. From the album: 30 mg Accutane experience

The day before my first pill. This awful nodulocystic acne began around three months ago. I had moderate acne in high school but NOTHING this severe and rarely had a pimple below my eyes. I'm blaming hormones, but maybe I have a gluten sensitivity or something. Keep in mind that I'm also cutting out gluten! Anyway, I'm very eager to see how my accutane treatment goes and I'm happy to have somewhere to record it. So here it goes

    The Initial Breakout

I've had acne since age 12 but it had settled by the time I hit my twenties. I was then only getting the occasional small pimple that was manageable and I had even stopped using benzoyl peroxide washes for the last two years. Now I'm 26 and I've broken out with the worst nodular and cystic inflammatory acne that I've ever had. Saw a dermatologist and he put me on oral erythromycin initially for 4 weeks and now been on epiduo for the last two weeks until I can get my liver cleared by a liv

    Day 70

From the album: 30 mg Accutane experience

Still on 40mg. About to bump up to 60... Making progress. Any thoughts on third month experiences? Also wondering if raising my dose will give me a flare up
  4. INVITING YOU TO MY JOURNEY WITH ACCUTANE...I AM 32 YEARS OLD WITH MODEREATE ACNE STARTED OUT WITH SEVERE ACNE AND THROUGH TACKLING WITH ALL THE CREAMS AND 3 STEP SYSTEMS OUT THERE I JUST CANNOT GET RID OF IT. THROUGH NUMEROUS VISITS WITH MY DERMATOLOGIST SHE HAS FINALLY GAVE IN AND PRESCRIBED THE ACCUTANRE FOR ME..YAY!! TRUTH IS TO GET TO THE MODERATE STAGE THAT I AM IN NOW I JUST STOPPED WITH ALL THE CREAMS AND ANTIBOITICS. I WENT STRICTLY CLEANSING MY FACE WITH CETEPHIL DAILY CLEANSER AND MOIS
  5. Hey all, I've been a very long time lurker and just now am fed up enough with my severe acne to finally start a thread here. I have tried nearly everything imaginable since I began getting acne at the age of 12. I was put on an unbelievable variety and amount of antibiotics and topical treatments till I was about 17 when I finally caved for accutane. I used to be well versed in isotretinoin dosages but all I remember was I was put on about 20 mg more than I should've and for about a month and
  6. Let me begin with a little background on my skin. I had moderate acne on my forehead & chin in high school. I tried every type of prescription topical and that usually took care of it. Recently though, My face broke out into a very severe case of nodulocystic acne! I have never experienced acne like this. I would love to know if anyone has had a similar sudden experience like this! The way it came on so suddenly is really frightening, it seems like something went terribly wrong in my body! I
  7. I never, ever thought I would be making a thread such as this! I thought I was doomed to have this horrible curse on me for the whole of my life, or until I got old and my sebum levels changed. THE REASON THIS POST IS LONG IS BECAUSE I TRULY BELIEVE DIFFERENT THINGS CAN CONTRIBUTE TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE'S ACNE AND I WANT YOU TO JUDGE ON YOUR OWN IF YOU THINK MY STORY COULD HELP YOU. ALSO, you might think "This guy's acne was horrendous - mine is not that bad.. His post wont apply to me." just plea
