    How Do I Fix This?

Hey guys, I'm new here, but I've used this website to do some research on the Regimen and just acne in general. I need help classifying what my type of acne is, moderate or severe or maybe in between.. and with that, I want to know the best way to tackle this. I guess I'm sort of lucky, as I've only had acne for about ~6 months. I'm 17. I have a picture back in November where I barely have any acne, just a few pimples! And also a few photos I took this morning, for a comparison. And boy is
  2. I am a gay 22 year old male. I've had nodular acne for about 10 years now. Its come to a point in my life now that it has become a hindrance for alot of things in my life. As a young gay male, you want to go out be seen and have fun...not as in being scandalous. I can't wear certain clothing out because it'll show what's covering my body. I have them on my chest, back, hips, and minimal on my neck and glutes. I can't help it but envy alot of the other gay guys :/ being able to be comfortable wit
  3. The plunge has been taken, the Accutane on deck. My story so far. Acne hasn't been a lingering issue for me for most of my short life, until 7 months ago when I broke out heavily on my chin. They were just normal pimples that eventually came to a head, nothing too serious... yet. It got worse, with my chin starting to resemble the Himalayas. I sought out help, my first step was Sebaceous Gland Ablation (SGA) which aimed to eliminate problem glands. 3 treatments later, it had not worked. Mon
  4. Hey guys, this is my first acne.org post so I’m hoping for some responses. Anyways, I’m 19 years old and am about to turn 20 in a about a month and half. I have been dealing with moderate to severe acne for the past two and half years. My acne was really bad when I was about 17 and half. I had a lot of cystic and nodular acne then but over the years it gradually got better. Last fall, my skin had been the best it had been in years. But since the new year, my skin has taken a left turn and gone
  5. Long story short... I think its a nodule pimple ? Accidentally scratched what felt like a small scab off in my sleep a few days ago and I had a small scab for the last few days. Just cleaned my face and felt liquid under the scab and felt allot of pressure so I got a clean needle and make a small opening next to the scab and with tissues squeezed some runny but sticky gunk out and a bit of runny blood. It looked like just an open hole at the end... No puss or oozing so I've put some clearasil
  6. Weekly Log Summary (big picture stuff): isotretinon-week-1(on low fat diet few days and high fat diet on other days): no dry skin, no dry/chapped lips, joint soreness, itchy scalp, no initial breakout, on and off mid headaches(seems to go down when i stopped coffee), fatigue and slower healing times(get tired easily, plenty of rest helps) isotretinon-week-2:(on a low fat diet, and no caffeine): drier skin(not too dry, just rier than usual), super chapped and dry lips, my lips cannot be any wors

    Day 70

Still on 40mg. About to bump up to 60... Making progress. Any thoughts on third month experiences? Also wondering if raising my dose will give me a flare up

    Day 20

From the album: 30 mg Accutane experience

Still drying drying drying and more drying. Basically no AHA moment yet, but i'm seeing so much progress it's wonderful. Seeing a few new cysts on my chin and forehead here and there but besides that, no awful breakouts
  9. So I am back at Acne.Org. I was here ten years ago as Arpazia and then, well, life happened. Got married. Created some wonderful new people. Underwent ablative laser treatment. Went away for a weekend with a bunch of local snobs and their daughters - - sunlight and stress brought upon new, wonderous, cysts and swelling and every day is a wonder of dried puss and ickiness. Ever try to explain your medical history to doctors and have them completely blow you off? Well, today, he (the doctor
  10. please help, since the young age of 12 I've been suffering from nodular/cystic acne on my chin. These pimples get huge and always form a head. I've changed my diet, only drink water, no dairy, sugar or gluten, I recently started taking omega 3, turmeric, zinc, and vitex! I've taken vitex before and it cleared my acne for 8 weeks and then it came back(I wasn't eating healthy back hen! I've taken birth control and that cleared all my acne except I still got a huge cyst before my period. Lately I'v

    Week 1

So here it goes... About me: I am a 26 year old female from the UK. I developed cystic acne at the age of 21 which as you can imagine I was over the moon about after getting through my teenage years spot free! I started tetracycline 4 years ago which worked for about 3 years but I am guessing my body became immune to the antibiotics after been on them for so long. After a huge breakout on a trip to Iceland in November, I decided enough was enough and visited a private dermatologist at Ha
  12. UGHHH where do I start. So I'm 20 years old and I've had acne since I was 12 years old. Ive never had severe acne but I've always gotten these huge cyst/nodules on my chin, I use to get them on my nose as well but now just my chin. I've never seen anyone else who gets these types of pimples, mine are massive. They've taken a tole on me mentally. I've tried birth control, which cleared my cheek and forehead acne but not my chin acne. I don't want to do anything that isn't a holistic approach. I'm
  13. Hey guys, So I am now on day 11 into week 2 and feeling GREAT! My skin is clear and I have hardly any side effects. If I didn't know I was taking Accutane, I would never notice any side effects. My lips are slightly chapped and my skin is a little drier and redder than usual. My skin was very oily for the first week but this has now subsided (which I am loving). I also had my time of the month this week and I ALWAYS get a huge spot around my chin/mouth/cheeks area but this month I had NONE!
  14. hello, haven't messaged for quite some time, which im sorry for. spent a long time trying to sort my issue out. so where to start.......im now 35, had very bad acne in my teens and went on Accutane which worked. I was clear for years and years till I was about 27. this was when I noticed my skin getting oiler and also my hair started to thin(don't know if theres any relation). so basically since then my acne/spots have come back, now I will stress that its not as bad as when I was a teen
  15. Hello all! My name is Liz, and this forum will be home to my Accutane journey! A little bit of history about me: I have had acne since I was 12. It gradually got worse as I got older. I don't remember the last time I actually left the house without full concealer/foundation and other forms of making my skin "neutral". It's so bad it affects every personal relationship I have and has always been a detriment to my life. I am sure you all know. A little bit about my acne/skin: I have incredibl

    Day 107

From the album: 30 mg Accutane experience

I'm taking 40mg for this coming month because of a doctor-pharmacy error that can't be reversed. A little annoyed, but back to 60mg soon. Feeling better everyday! Healing has arrived

  18. Hi, I'm a 19 yo male who's been suffering from cystic acne for several years from senior highschool years up until now. My skin used to be perfect without ANY pimples, freckles, wrinkles(lol), etc etc, but for some reason (possibly due to my genetics, according to my dermatologist), I began to develop mild/moderate form of acnes around my cheeks which later have developed into hideous cysts (you know.. those red, inflamed and painful ones ). So I'm now on accutane (which I should've start
  19. I am considering a cortisone injection to treat my nodular acne as I do not want to be left with scars and want it treated. I have researched the injection and found that it can sometimes result in an indent in the the skin or atrophy to use the correct term, after the injection. My question is, how likely is this side effect, is it rare or common, some facts and figures and statistics would be great and also sources would be appreciated.

    Day 4 - Peeling Face

Hi everyone, I'm brand new to this website and these message boards. I have nodular acne and I started accutane four days ago. I was very nervous, and I only comitted after talking to two friends of mine that have gone on it, as well as word of mouth from about 3 other people I know. I am now much less worried, I have always been really healthy and my first blood test results were very impressive according to my dermatologist, who has been on accutane himself. I also have had acne about 5 yea

    The Cortisone Shot

So I'm thinking about getting the cortisone shot tomorrow because I have this huge pimple on the side of my chin! Anyway, this would be my first shot. I need it to be gone by Saturday night and I was wondering if it would at least be gone or go down by then? This is my first weekend of college and there are so many fun things going on, I want to be able to go out and enjoy it and not stay in because of this huge zit on my face. I'm also going to get it done by one of the Health Center doctors at
  22. I have decided I want to try vitamins as a way to improve my nodular acne, I have been researching vitamins and so far I have read that the vitamins which supposedly help are Vitamins A, E and C, Selenium, Zinc and MSM. Is it okay for me to take all of these vitamins everyday? How much of each should I take each day? And can anyone suggest a routine for me to take the vitamins for example take certain vitamins in the morning and take the others at night? Thanks
  23. Hi All, I've been lurking on the forum since July last year and thought I would share my thoughts and experiences on my journey and how I've come to a decision to begin roaccutane (UK). I know many people do not agree with this drug but I am completely aware of it's side affects and have read the booklet and the ipledge programme information already. People often bash others that take roaccutane for mild acne, but just like the rest of you, we suffer too. I can't remember the last time I look
