  1. Hey I'm 16 Female. I've been having pimple/acne since I was 12. I have pretty oily skin. Never dry. I have been using drugstore facial cleanser, toner and moisturizer when I start getting pimples. Awhile ago, I came across the caveman regimen or the water only regimen. I started last month and my skin is getting worst at that month. About 20+ days, my face started getting itchy. I couldnt bear with the itchiness, so I used a facial cleanser to wash my face. WORST MISTAKE. My face is al

    Clogged Pores/Caveman Regimen

Hi guys. Starting this thread more for myself than anything else to STICK to caveman regiment once and for all. Background: 21 years old and never washed my face in my life except for like maybe once randomly a couple times a year just because my friends used to do it, but I would stop after like one time. Never washed my face with water except for sometimes randomly in the morning to wake myself up or just in the shower when it got wet on days I washed my hair. I've had clear skin all my li
  3. Hello all. Feel free to skip all this and just read my log, but I thought I would start with a bit about me and my acne story, as I have often found other peoples stories helpful on this site! My Story I have been keeping a log of my experiences with my skin on my computer, but as a long time lurker on this website I have decided to make my story public in the hopes of getting some understanding, and maybe even helping someone in a similar situation. I am a 23 year old female who has
  4. Hello all! This is my first forum post so I'm going to start with a little bit about my acne. If you want to get right to the caveman regimen just skip ahead! I am a 23 year old female, I have suffered with acne since my teens and have tried everything short of Accutane to clear my skin. Antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, Dan's Regimen, Retinol, over the counter treatments, apple cider vinegar, manuka honey, you name it. I spend a lot of time googling acne and treatments and I have never reach
  5. Hey guys! So this is my first post but I've been a lurker on this sight for almost 10 years! I am a 23 year old female and I started getting acne when I was around 13. Through the years I've had periods of clear skin due to being on birth control and spironolactone. However these medications always made me extremely emotional and gave me some negative side effects so I always hoped I would be able to clear my skin naturally without any medications. About six months ago I quit birth control and s

    Caveman regimen (my log)

So I’ve decided to do the caveman regimen. This is a last resort for me. I’m a 21 yr old female, I’ve had acne since I was 13. I’ve been to the dermatologist about 5 times. I’ve been put on different creams and have taken different pills. I’ve also tried facials and changed my diet to a healthier one about three years ago. I feel as though I’ve tried about everything, except accutane. My acne isn’t that bad. It’s not cystic, it’s never been cystic. I get small Whitehead’s all over my face though
  7. I started the no wash regimen 7 days ago, after I found a blog about in on Acne.org, I read a lot of blogs on acne because my skin has been horrible for the past 4 years. It wasn’t as bad four years ago, but it’s been getting worse and worse and now it’s the worst it’s ever been. Over the four years, I’ve been doing everything to try to get it better. Antibiotics, creams, diet changes, Dan’s (stupid) regimen, natural remedies (manuka honey, tea tree oil, aloe vera, apple cider vingar etc.). Ever
  8. Starting tonight I will not wash my face with anything. Soap, cleansers, even water. And use no moisturizer, toner, nothing. I have damaged my skin from soaps, retinoids, acids, lotions, and I need to let it heal. I have many clogged pores and overall pretty dehydrated skin showing fine lines and wrinkles, as well as red marks, and blackheads. I will also try to eat healthy, fruits, vegetables, water, very little meat/dairy/breads. I also will not jerk off, or take any drugs. I will exerci
  9. The one thing I've kept consistent over 12 years (yikes) of acne is washing my face RELIGIOUSLY, WITHOUT FAIL, morning and night... So after coming across thelovevitamin.com and reading about the caveman/no wash method... I thought, well, maybe that's been my mistake. But I'm a skeptic. I've had acne since about the age of 12. Since then, not a single day has gone by that I haven't had at least a few zits on my face. Like every chronic acne sufferer, the severity comes and goes, but right now

  11. Hi. I'm an 18 year old with skin that has been abused by products. My ignorant attitude has damaged my skin and I fear it is beyond repair. The tight, red and oily skin I have been left with is much more devastating for me personally than the mild acne I had before the products. Having identified my skin as dehydrated whilst also lacking the money to buy a wide range of products I was wondering whether the caveman regime would help repair my skin. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Day 8

So the tiny white bumps from yesterday are still there. Three of them got inflamed and got bigger - I'm thinking this is from me washing my face yesterday. They just want to be left alone! The cyst on my temple is pretty red and raised, which could mean any number of things. I did pretty well with my diet yesterday! (Dairy/gluten/sugar/caffeine/hard-liquor free) The only place I slipped up a bit was a co-worker offered me a 100 calorie pack of pretzels. I figured since it was such a small
  13. Hello, I have been trying the water only method for 3-4 weeks now. I have breaking out pretty badly in red spots and white heads but no cystic acne. I tried going caveman for 5 days and doing nothing but I broke in even more whiteheads. I used a washcloth yesterday to exfoliate which I think irritated my face more. So today I just went back to letting the water wash over it in the shower. My question is this, is there a light at the end of the tunnel? Will I ever stop getting red spots an

    Caveman Regimen Log

Hi all, I am new to the forums here, just to give you background on myself, I'm a 16 year old male, with mild acne and normal skin. I am very fit, and eat healthy. No junk food, lots of fruit and veggies, organic meats and cheeses, etc. About 4-5 months ago, I had perfect skin, it was all great, almost no major pimples/blackheads/discoloring or whatnot, but I would get a pimple every now and then, and thought, heck, is there stuff that can prevent it? I started with a salacylic 1% wa

    Stopped Washing My Face

Hello All, I am 29 and have struggled with mild to severe acne since I was 9 years old. I am currently using the caveman regimen (slightly modified)... My acne history: When I was 27 I went on isotretinoin (20 mg/day for 6 months) to treat a severe and persistent acne outbreak that covered my face, neck, chest, upper arms and back in pustules, whiteheads and huge painful cysts. After the treatment, my skin cleared to the point where I didn't even have a clogged pore! At 28, I began to de
  16. I just wanted to share my success story with the Caveman Regimen so far. About me: 21 year old male, started getting acne when I was probably 13 or 14, tried basically every acne cleanser possible including proactiv. These worked for a while, but as I got out of my teen years I started to realize the only acne I still had might be because I do too much to my skin. Every morning and night I would wash with salicylic acid wash, followed by toner and salicylic acid moisturizer, and this just g
  17. I've been on the Caveman Regimen for 9 day and I'm so tempted to quit! I have huge whiteheads covering my cheeks that are drying up and going this weird greenish colour and it's disgusting, even though they are healing quicker. I have dead skin build (which I know is normal). I just want to quit and go to using just water because I hate going to school like this! Please help!
  18. Need some advice from people who have done caveman regimen so I'm very interested in starting the no wash the no nothing idea however I work as plumber and workout every night so lots of sweat and dirty. have people done this regimen with a similar lifestyle if so how did they approach it? i just can't see it working with all that sweat and dirt...
  19. I have experimented with the caveman regimen in the past with great success. I now stick to a modified caveman regimen, ("washing" my skin twice a week with a diluted apple cider vinegar toner, and applying Burts Bees Sensitive Skin Moisturiser) but I barely ever wash my face. My boyfriend has never used a moisturiser on his skin, and his skin is not dry in the slightest. I was wondering if anybody has any information on whether the use of moisturiser creates a dependancy over time? I know t
