  1. Hey all! I recently found that I most probably have fungal folliculitis on my face. I think it came when I first tried the OCM method which did not work for me at all. I guess my pores got clogged? Anyway I started treating it with Nizoral and Head and Shoulders Classic clean, alternating every 2 days or so. I have been doing it properly since friday (before that I wasn't absorbing everything so doing it wrong for 2 days). Things seem to be improving but not as fast as I had hoped. I have JR P
  2. I've been wondering for a long time if my acne wasn't at least partially something else. Info clear up if I'm religious with BP, then I'll slack off a bit and it comes back. But even when I'm clear I still have some bumps. I've been trying Nizoral under the assumption maybe I have acne AND fungal folliculitus and I think it's helping. In any case my dermatologist said Nizoral can help acne too (though he didn't elaborate how). I guess it can't hurt? Any experiences to share?
  3. Hello! My first post here, as I am now seeking opinions and past experiences!! I've been to the derm a few times, and I feel nothing really works.... especially anything with bp. So, I'm now 18, and this was when I really started breaking out when I thought all those teenager gimmicks were over. I pretty much break out on my cheeks, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE. THEY COME IN THESE GANGS of skin coloured bumps...then they slowly become hard.... I can't pop them but I CAN flick it and some h
  4. Hi everybody, This is my first post here, though I have used this website as an information resource as well as purchased products several times. I recently started using topical Nizoral and have seen unprecedented and rapid success in treating my persistent and severe acne, so I thought I would share my history of treatment and describe some preliminary results. I began breaking out when I was around 12. At first, it was small red bumps on my back and pustules on my face. As I entered hig
  5. I started taking Nizoral shampoo (active ingredient ketoconazole) a couple of weeks ago. I think around the 22nd of October. So it's been a couple of weeks now. I think it's an anti-fungal and anti-dandruff shampoo and i have been using it on my face and scalp after a shower. I remember seeing it being mentioned as somehow working for acne as well, i think it is supposed to be a DHT inhibitor, or something like that, it can reduce sebum production maybe. I have never bothered with it in the
  6. Hi, as per title: If you have taken Nizoral shampoo [ketoconazole] how long did it take to work before you started to notice an improvement with your acne? Did you have an initial breakout? Do you think an initial breakout would be possible from Nizoral considering what ever the mechanisms are that help with acne etc. Cheers.
  7. Hi all, I am writing this post in hopes that someone can figure out what is going on with my face. For years, I have used Neutrogena because it has helped my skin. Back in June, small bumps began to appear on my forehead and I thought it was just bad acne. I drank tons of water and used my Neutrogena but the bumps were not going away! They were not itchy and looked terrible in the light. I did research and thought that it was pityrosporum folliculitis. Doing more research, I saw that Nizoral
  8. I have tried using BP constantly, several times a day at 2% even 10%. It helped, but ever got me clear, particularly on my forehead. I also had folliculitis on my chest (red bumps) where BP had no affect. After a lot of on-line research, I started to believe I had fungal folliculitis or "candidiasis". From what I read, if you drink a lot of alcohol like me, or have taken antibiotics (I'd had some for an STD), you kill off the good bacteria and the yeast takes over. This made sense, because B
  9. Hi guys, So My acne used to be super super Bad and i went on accutane and everything and it was alright for a while but then came back with a vengenance. So my acne right now is mild and I've been doing the caveman regime to some degree as well. However, I've ALWAYS had these skin colored bumps that make my skin feel disgusting, since there are so many of them. I am going to start using nizoral shampoo as a face wash, but I'm not hopeful.. since I've seen that most people who have success wi
  10. So I have these flesh colored bumps on my face (mainly my forehead and sides of face) for as long as I can remember. You can't really see them unless you are up close or in sunlight. It gives my skin this rough texture and for years I thought it was just acne. I came across a video saying tiny bumps on forehead might not be acne but a fungal overgrowth that can be cured with Nizoral, an anti-dandruff shampoo. Symptoms include a slight itch, and I do scratch my face sometimes... i barely notice

  12. Any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated.... I have never had great skin, but have never seen my skin like this and it is getting increasingly worse. I have been using Paula's Choice 2% gel for 2-3 weeks nightly without improvement. Then, I thought this may be some kind of pityrosporum folliculitis so I have used Nizoral the last two days. (leave on for 3 mins in shower) It seems as though my skin gets worse throughout the day and the most clogged pores show up at night. They are c
  13. So I have these tiny bumps all over my forehead. A little pit of a back story. I have had clear skin for most my life. I am 19 years old I started working out about 3 months ago. I was on weigh protein. The protein (from what I think) made zits appear on my jaw line. I started applying face washes and srubs to clear the acne. After about 2 month I sort have got it under control. About 2 weeks ago, I developed these tiny bumps all over my head. I don’t know if it’s from the gym, because that’s wh
  14. I have battled with less than perfect skin for years and never really knew what was wrong with it until I quite recently diagnosed myself with malassezia folliculitis and sought to treat it following some thorough advice on the internet. It has been responding to my current regime of a Nizoral shampoo face mask that's left on for 10 mins prior to washing off, Avene tolerant moisturiser then Lamisil and Ketoconazole cream on top. It has been two weeks and although marginally improved I feel
  15. Hi! i've had this question in my mind for quite some time. let's say u've done the saliva test but it's come out negative. i'm told by a worthy fellow blogger here that one can still have topical fungal issues. one question on that, # does such fungal bumps itch for sometime?suddenly? so,now am going to focus on fungal folliculitis and it's solution. well, we all know what it is..antidandruff/anti-fungal shampoo like nizoral, scalpe, head & shoulders etc. but my point li
