  1. Hey Everyone! Long story short, I’m an incredibly pale 23 year old female who has been experiencing consistent and persistent acne for the last 4 years. I would classify my acne as moderate to severe and since I’m so pale it looks a lot worse. Every spot leaves pigmentation and scarring which makes my skin look so much worse. Anyway, I had recently seen a dermatologist who suggested I go on accutane. Maximum I would be taking Accutane for a year on a low dosage. My concerns ar

    Scar Treatment Worries

Hey everyone- I still have a while to go before I can even start treating my scars, as I am currently on my final month of accutane. It is just really disappointing to suddenly have a face full of scars after perfect skin my whole life. Most of my scars are rolling and create huge dents in my skin. It is super discouraging. I'm actually seeing a psychiatrist. I have researched SOOOO much, and seen actual results from real studies and real people. But still, it just seems impossible that I
  3. So I have been using the regimen for almost a year now and my skin has finally cleared up. I have recently decided to start birth control as a form of protection, however, I am really worried that my skin will go back to how it was. I was prescribed Tri-sprintec. If anyone of you have tried that brand and have advice that would be great or any birth control and have advice and opinions I’d love to hear it!
  4. I'm starting Accutane at the end of this month and I feel super excited/hopeful but nervous/scared. I'm really excited to get started on the road to (hopefully) permanently clear skin, but I'm really nervous about the side effects and it almost makes me want to not take it/push it off but i guess there's no "good time" to be on Accutane. I know that the side effects may or may not happen or it might not be as severe as the horror stories you read online. But I can't stop thinking about how dif
  5. Hello, I'm new here. So today, my dermatologist offered me Accutane (of course one of the generic brands). He started me on a low dose (30mg), once daily since he said I'm really not that "bad". It's been almost 10 years and three different dermatologists later, these prescription acne lotions and creams cocktail and even antibiotics---I still get painful deep acne cysts in my jawline and chin areas. My cheeks and forehead are clear though so no problem. Plus, I get cortisone shots every tim
  6. Day 0 Alright, so, after using Tazorac for 7 weeks I have seen some results (at least I think I do) and other people do too, but not my dermatologist, so two days ago, I signed the iPledge booklet all over, and my mom bought me my first box of Claravis today. I am starting on 40mg a day. I am pretty nervous about this... I know what to expect, and I just read the whole Medical Information packet that came in the box, I hope I do not die or have seizures... I am a cheerleader too, so I am n

    Girls

Hi everybody, I just really needed to get this off my mind. Going about my everyday life I had been fine up until now. I wasn't thinking about girls or my acne that much but recently I'm thinking about both all the time! So for some reason I keep thinking about my future and meeting a beautiful girl and all that fantasy stuff. I think about the situation where I will meet that girl in the future and what she is doing right now... The problem is that it I am thinking about it too much and now it

    Uk Accutane

Hi Everyone, Im male, 22 and from the UK and am unfortunate to suffer from acne. However it's not as bad as some cases therefore I would say its mild. It has lasted 3 years and currently I'm on Lymecycline tablets which still gives the spread of spots and redness around the cheeks. I use BP in the night as well. I went to a private dermatologist today and he suggested Accutane confidently and to be honest I'm really scared of what will happen. In two weeks I will be starting my new job a
  9. Okay. So, I have had bad acne from when I was 13 to now when I'm 18. I thought to myself (like probably many during the summer), that I will get rid of my acne before college. See, I have/had a problem with wearing makeup CONSTANTLY and mean ALL. THE. TIME. I wore it around my parents, my friends, and even battled not allowing anyone to see my face without it during a 2 week trip abroad my senior year. It was stressful, but I managed to have fun despite these insecurities. However, I've
  10. Hello acne.org community I just started taking accutane and I'm barely on my second day and I seem to be experiencing a lot of anxiety! I wanted to know how to combat this! So if you have any advice please share also for hair loss because before taking accutane my hair just out of nowhere started thinning idk if it's stress or hormonal changes but I'm losing hair like crazy and I can't afford for accutane to make it worse! I'm a 20 year old female!. I'm on 40 mg twice a day. Right now I don't fe
