  1. Hey everyone, i made a blog but i thought just making a question in a forum would be easier. Here my blog (From start to week 2) WEEK 3 (21 Days) I am still getting new spots more or less everyday or every second day so i guess im still going through the initial breakout, hopefully this will stop at week 5 or sooner because it is my birthday (woo) then and it would be great if it did. At the start i was drinking a lot of milk and other dairy products to try and get the "high fat"
  2. So it's week 14 and I'm still not clear. On top of that, it only got worse. My skin improved the first month I used the regimen. I stopped having huge pimples. Around week 12, I started picking on my skin thinking that removing those dry flakes on top of the acne will help it clear soon. Well, it didn't help at all. I now have acne scabs and they are swollen right now. It's like there are bumps on my face and I hate it. What can I do to heal it faster? Should I still do the regimen then dab neos

    Bumpy Ride

So I haven't posted since Thursday and the main reason is because I've been feeling awful about my skin I was doing so well and then Friday morning I woke up with a painful cyst right above my eyebrow...which is making me realise that I'm getting better at not picking but as soon as I get a bigger spot it's like I go into overdrive and start panicking. I tried to wait until I got into work before messing with it but instead I poked it with a pin A LOT before I even left the house. I'm so di

    Epic Fail

So cold turkey didn't work out well for me...long story short I felt a massive cyst coming up right in the middle of my forehead yesterday and got so frustrated (but also knew picking it would end up in a huge mess) that I ended up picking the rest of my forehead to shreds. BAD TIMES It felt like the universe was trying to screw me over the minute I decided I wasn't going to pick, I think the universe is a fan of irony. Ok so I know it was terrible to pick 5 other small unnoticeable spots,
  6. Warning: Long as Hell I'm going to include many things I've experienced in the past with my skin (not just the current issue) so that anyone reading this can hopefully take something away from it. And so that the history of my skin is not an unknown variable in what happened to me. Today: My entire face is wrecked right now. And I don't know what to do, I'm pacing around my house, losing sleep, sobb
  7. I have had horrible cysts at many times on my face. had surgery as a teen to remove one then one time I had one the size of a golf ball on my forehead...I drove 300 miles to an Isolaz laser with the suction and laser blast, and it went away now I have acne at 40 including some cysts - I used retin-a and Accutane but now - Clearasil Ultra benzoil cream is killing it! Worth the 10 buck a tube. also Neosporin cream or rite aid brand is awesome for reducing redness, healing, making a z
  8. So I've been applying Neosporin on my popped pimples after I get them. It literally heals them in under an hour, but it's still red and has that like scab thing that goes over it kind of as a protection device that happens with every pimple. Should I continue to apply Neosporin once it begins its healing process? Will it continue to help it heal faster? Thanks
  9. If you develop pimples inside of your nose or primarily have acne around your mouth and cheeks, the acne-causing bacteria may be living in your nostrils. If you get ear pimples or primarily have back and jawline acne, your acne-causing bacteria may reside in your ears. Triple Antibiotic Ointment http://www.drugs.com/pro/triple-antibiotic-ointment.html is a safe and effective topical ointment for the treatment of nasal microbes implicated in disease. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2337752
  10. Topical application of Neosporin, also known as Triple Antibiotic Ointment (TAO), http://www.drugs.com/pro/triple-antibiotic-ointment.html has been shown to effectively treat a number of common skin infections. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1824665/pdf/canmedaj00742-0047.pdf I have put TAO on forming cystic acne and it reduces the severity of the bump and accelerates healing. Please read the publication for more information.

    Angry Angry

Well I had a lovely weekend and stayed relatively clear...however I got really angry on saturday night with my boyfriend and because he was drunk and feel asleep I had so much anger that didn't have an outlet which led to me taking it out on my skin. I was lucky that I was tired because I only have one disaster zone but jheez is it sore! There was a cluster of about 4 small clogged pores just above my eyebrow near my hairline and I really went to town on them, 2 came out no problem but the other
  12. Hi there! This is my first post and it's a pretty important one. So, I had acne when I was little. I still get it today, but not to that great of a degree. I use Neutrogena acne foaming scrub before I go to bed, as well as clindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide gel (1.2%/5%), which was prescribed to me, not to mention I put on Neosporin on some scabs. So, with all that said, my face has been looking pretty clear. A few days ago, I could feel a pimple coming, right in the smack dab middle o
  13. I have removed Staphylococcus aureus from my nose using Triple Antibiotic Ointment and that has eliminated my nose sores and cured me of what I thought was acne but really was folliculitis. I am a microbiology graduate student and the lab I teach has a Mannitol Salt Agar experiment where we differentiate S. aureus from Staphylococcus epidermidis. S. aureus can ferment the mannitol sugar and that causes a yellowing of the plate. I have known for years that I am a heavy nasal S. aureus carr
  14. Hey everyone -- Does anyone on accutane have any recommendations for spot treatment? I'm on Claravis 20 mg and so far I've been using aczone *LIGHTLY* only on problem spots to avoid drying out my skin too much. Also, would you recommend Aquaphor or Neosporin on popped pimples? Which one heals them quicker? I know that aquaphor is more moisturizing, but neosporin kills the bacteria. Any advice would be great
