  1. Hi everyone, I’m looking at getting advice on how to finally clear my acne that I’ve had from age 16 to now 19. Here’s my backstory. (Male from the UK). I had cystic moderate acne on my face for about a month aged 16 before I finally went to the doctors. I was prescribed lymecycline capsules (antibiotic) and benzoyl peroxide cream. It worked and did clear the cystic acne to some extent. About a year in I swapped benzoyl peroxide for adapalene because the BP was too drying on my skin. At 18 I
  2. From the album: Accutane (Zenatane) Journey

Picture for reference. Going into my 3rd month and have been off of the meds for 6 days now due to pharmacy issues. Neck has calmed down since the last time y'all saw it. It's not so much cystic heads as it is red or white pustular heads. Isn't too painful unless I pick at it. They're all pretty poppable but come back really fast.
  3. Hi Everyone, So I typed up a long message, but the site refreshed and deleted everything... In summary: 24 year old asian male acne since teen years (used ProActiv and worked but trying to go holistic route) tried many things: vitamins, Probiotics, cleanses strict diet: no dairy, no sugar, low-carb, lots of veges, fruits, omega 3s acne in face (jawline, chin, upper lip), chest, neck (cystic type), back (though recently has started to disappear but check acne still t
  4. Hi guys, I started using the Acne.org 11 days ago. For the first week I applied the treatment on my neck , where in I don't get acne on my neck. And now my neck is all red and black very irritated and it burns a lot. I stopped using the treatment on my neck , the burning has not yet gone. Please suggest me something.
  5. I used this initially for my heart (it helps with palpitations etc) and noticed how much dryer my face became. It was so dry i could actually moisturize with emu oil which i did not mind at all. It took 1-2 weeks to kick in, taking 1 gram in 600ml of water every morning, from a bpa free cup. I did not change my diet, but i did also drink more water (because i was drinking this in the first hour of being awake) I stopped taking Alcar recently due to bad time management and have noticed how oily m
  6. Hello! About 2-2.5 weeks ago, I started drinking 3-5 cups/day of green tea, as well as mixing it in with my daily moisterizer (Aveeno Clear Complection), which I apply 3-5 times per day. Over the course of 1 week, I noticed this made a huge improvement, but it was not clearing up everything. Then, I began taking Zinc (25mg/day), Vitamin B6 (100% DV), Vitamin B12 (100% DV), Vitamin C(>100%), and Brewer's Yeast (6 tablets a day w/food) in addition to Vitamin A (100% DV), which I had already be
  7. I have this theory, just about two weeks ago I had my Pilonidal abscess ( yes it was infected) of three years, removed. I had it excised and it was left as an open wound to heal as recommended by my surgeon. From this past summer to about January, my cyst was fine and wasn't a hassle at all. Around the same time I got one lower wisdom teeth extracted my Pilonidal cyst got infected, I think it was because I would slump on a plastic chair I have at home for prolong amount of time. My skin was cl
  8. Does this look like folliculitis to you? I can't find anything through searches that looks like it. All of the pictures show red inflamed bumps all over and I mostly have flesh colored bumps with a few red ones/white head looking spots. It first appeared after working out and switching to a SA facewash along with using BP topically and the more I tried to treat it the worse it got. Cortisone seems to help a bit but its only a quick fix and as soon as I sweat or shower it gets aggravated.
  9. Benzoyl peroxide keeps my face all-but free of acne. However, I don't use it on my neck/throat area as I believe it's too drying and my skin is sensitive. BUT I get the occasional cyst on my throat area. They are red, inflamed, and take weeks to subside. I also get a mild shaving rash too (see picture - it looks worse than this sometimes). Any suggestions on what I can use to prevent this?
  10. I started the acne.org regimen about 3 weeks ago and it has done a decent job for the most part at keeping my cheeks and the rest of my face clear, with red marks still fading, but it does not seem like the bp is helping me with my jawline and even less with upper neck acne.. iv had quite a few breakout on my neck before and after starting the regimen and they have not stopped.- i get usually 1 or 2 new zits on my neck every day and it is very frustrating because im following the regimen like im
  11. I´m 32 yo, I had cystic acne as a teenager.. required two cycles of Accutane at ages 21 and 23. After that I has had problems in my scalp and also face. I think that I have a mild-severe acne in beard area persistent papules occasionaly pustules, not a real problem. The real problem is in my scalp, in the posterior part of my neck always have almost a dozen of lesiones, papules, pustules, they itch a lot, sometimes are painful. I have tried almost everything: 1. Topical antibiotics: Clindamyci
  12. Greetings, I have tiny bumps that look very similar to acne although it's not based on my visuals and attempting to popping them. To recap how this occurred, it occurred back when I had a bad cough that Promethazine w/ Codine and Amoxicillin won't eliminate the cough at all. So my PCP prescribed Methyprednisolone 4MG Dose pack. It significantly reduces my cough and I asked for a second pack. After the second pack my left side of the neck started to grow acne then it turned dark and it grew rapi
  13. Why Do People Get Acne Mostly on the Face and Upper Body?

Some areas of the skin are more prone to acne than the skin on the rest of the body. These include: Face Neck Upper back Chest Upper arms There are a few biological reasons that these parts of the body are more prone to acne:1-16 More and larger sebaceous glands (skin oil glands): Increased production of skin oil usually means more acne, and acne-prone parts of the body are abundant in sebaceous glands.1-5 Hormones: Higher amounts of androgen hormones (male hormones that are...
  14. My doctor put me on birth control (ortho-tricyclen) after my first period in middle school. Fast forward - clear skin for almost my entire life until I turn 19 and decide I don't need to be on synthetic hormones. Three months later, cystic acne all over my cheeks, jawline, and neck. Sound familiar? Straight away I go to the derm. Get put back on ortho-tri. I stayed on the ortho tri only to experience mediocre results, then moved onto yaz for three months which caused a literal facial explosion
  15. Neck Acne

Acne on the back of the neck is more similar to body acne than it is to facial acne and presents unique challenges. Neck acne lesions can be painful and can have an abrupt onset and long lifespan. This is not to be confused with the skin of the front of the neck, which is extremely sensitive and should be treated in the same way as facial skin. Much like the body, the skin on the back...
  16. Hi all! New user here I recently turned 26 and started to break out along my jaw line and my upper neck. I never have broken out like this before and I am looking for any advice to treat it. Also, does this warrant a trip to a dermatologist? Or should I be able to control it over the counter? Thanks!
  17. I am a 34 year old male As a teenager I had problems wit acne on my chest While I did also suffer from Rosacea I didn't get many spots on my face. The chest acne cleared up in my early and mid 20's In the years afterward I had far from perfect skin but breakouts were mild and I was able to treat redness with sudocream However in the last two years I have had major out breaks including cyst spots and my skin in worse than its ever been The majority of the spots are on my forehead and ne
  18. I am new to this website and I’ve never commented on anyone’s posts before. I’m only a reader, but I felt I needed to recieve some insight on this because I’ve been suffering from (what I believe to be) PF for 11 months now after taking a round of Doxycycline prescribed by my Derm for an acne breakout. Nothing and I mean NOTHING has cured this terrible stuff. I lost hope since going on a strict anti-candida diet for 2 months and nothing cleared up. So, I’ve just been living with it and covering
  19. Okay I've been breaking out on my chest. It does not itch, it does not hurt. Some of these bumps are just red and never form a head. The other are filled with a clear fluid when I try to pop them. Then they scab over. Not all of them though like I said before. I was washing with the St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub and that seemed to help for about a month but now it's just worse. My dermatologist prescribed Clindmycin, but that just made it worse. The pictures are a few hours after I used
  20. Hi, I've signed up here just to get a bit of advice. I am a 22 year old male and have been getting acne on my neck in the exact same place for months now without getting it anywhere else. I have got this before and it has eventually went away but comes back around the end of the summer and doesn't go away for the entire winter. It's not shaving as it appears even when I don't shave. I have tried washing my face twice a day and focusing specifially on my neck, I've tried acne cream called quino
  21. Hi all, I'm currently half way through my 4th month of Accutane, and all has been going well so far! Acne is mostly cleared up, and the only side-effects I've experienced up until the start of this week were chapped lips and nose-bleeds. However, I have suffered two side-effects recently which have not gone away: Two weeks ago I developed a strain in my neck, if I turn it say 90 degrees it is very painful, and I cannot turn it any further than that. The problem has persisted and shows no si
  22. I have dealt with mild acne for most of my life. It started with the usual high school acne which was completely hormonal. For about two years it was pretty bad (my parents both had acne in high school and said they have pretty bad skin in their teens). But it finally started to clear when I was going to college. I got to college and my skin was great! The occasional breakout here and there but I kept my skin really clean and I thought everything was past me. Nope. It started around Oct
  23. Hi everyone, I started the regimen about 18 months ago, and after trying for so long with so many different products I decided to give up as it wasn't doing much for me, and currently I am using nothing for my acne as I discussing products with my GP. I have always had an extremely oily face, back and chest (even though I don't get acne on my chest or back) but for the past year my neck which was fairly normal has become painfully dry, to the point where it hurts to move my head. This may
  24. Hello, I normally don't break out on my neck and somehow three months ago I started to. I thought it was just a one time thing. I put benzoyl peroxide on it and I guess it made it worse. My neck was an angry red color. I started to break out even more. Where my adams apple is at, the sides of it. It leaves dark marks as well. Currently I'm using taxorac at night and clindamycin phosphate in the morning. Do you guys have any suggestions as to why its happening? My derm said its folliculitis b
