  1. I am a 15 y/o male. About a year ago, my face started becoming a bit tight after my showers. I put a light Cetaphil moisturizer on, and it was fine for the rest of the day. Today, a year later, I cannot even splash my face with water without it feeling like a desert. The tightness in my face is nothing short of unbearable. This tightness is lessened if I moisturize, but it does not fully go away until hours later. Johns Hopkins Derm Dept could not diagnose a few months ago, but nothing has gotte
  2. Hi everyone. I am new to the regimen and I am dead set on following it until I see results. I am just so frustrated with my acne and everything I have done so far seems to have done absolutely nothing. I am REALLY hoping this will work! My question is how does chlorine affect your skin? I am a competitive swimmer so I spend a good 2-3 hours in the pool every day. I am assuming this isn't doing wonders for my skin, but I am curious to know the extent of the damage it may be doing. If it is d
  3. Hi! I'm 24 with oily, acne prone skin. Last year I was on retin a 0.1% but stopped bc I felt I didn't need it anymore. I was left with discoloration and began using fading creams. Well big mistake because I broke out again. Whiteheads, all in my tzone. I didn't want to go back on retin a bc of the IB so I've been using baking soda and water. Also aspirin, honey, isop alcohol, and witch hazel. Now the whiteheads are inflamed and scarred. I've also used an otc 10% benzoyl peroxide which I threw o
  4. Google "comedogenic ingredients" so you can now what to look out for--ethylhexyl palmitate and what-not. Triderma makes an aloe moisturizer that isn't a miracle, but it doesn't break me out--I think it's Triderma Redness Relief. I am unable to wear it under makeup. Eucerin's products for sensitive skin are decent; and Olay Complete SPF moisturizer has never given me trouble, either. Cetaphil has a moisturizer specifically for oily skin, as does Clean and Clear (but it has .5% salicylic ac
  5. I have recently come to the conclusion that otc cleansers and toners and moisturizers, dont do well with my skin , i have tried quite a few , neutrogena, clean and clear , even cetaphil . After a trip to the derm , she had me using revison skin care cleanser, toner and moisturizer ,thy worked like no other but the prices were killing me -cleanser-20 dollars, toner-22, moisturizer-45.00.... so i decided it was too much money and it was putting the biggest dent in my purse, after a few months off
  6. Would just like to say just because it says 'Oil free' on the moisturizer doesn't mean its right for you, I've unfortunately did experience this, was using an oil free aloe moisturizer for several months which caused several blackheads and felt greasy, I didn't think it could be the moisturizer as it stated it was oil free and was organic..however it had ingredients which causes blackheads and generally wasn't suitable for my sensitive oily skin. Anyway now i'm using a normal lotion which is
  7. Hey guys! This is kind of lengthy, but I would appreciate it if you could help me out! I am currently on week 11 of the regimen, and things are going really good! I have cleared about 99%! I am still getting about 1 small pimple every other day, and to be honest, if I could get rid of all the scarring that is leftover, I could deal with that, but I do hope and pray that I can get completely clear and just have to deal with occasional pimple here and there! Anyway, I am rambling... The moisturize
  8. Does anyone know of a really good, thick healing moisturizer for really dry skin? None of the light noncomedogenic ones I've found - the ones that don't break me out - actually keep my skin from drying out painfully. About my skin: The dry skin is pretty new, underneath my jaw, and I don't know why - I haven't done anything new. My routine has been 1) neutrogena ultra gentle cleanser, 2) aloe vera, 3) moisturizer, 4) tea tree oil for a spot treatment, when needed. It was working - my cysts
  9. Well, it's been about 2 weeks or so since my last update on the Daniel Kern Regimen aka, "Acne.org Regimen". My skin's really taken a whole new turn since that last post, wow. I am ecstatic to say that my skin continues to heal, albeit slowly. The cystic acne was pretty damaging, and so I not only had to be extra patient but also be careful in order to reduce actual textual scarring. What you see in the pics below is all hyper-pigmentation, aka, post-inflammatory acne marks. Wow, it looks so ba
  10. Hello I am interested in buying bulldogs sensitive moisturizer. I have previously used bulldogs original moisturizer with bad results. While it did help reduce the appearance of red marks it really dried out my skin. I am just looking to see if the sensitive moisturizer is any better.
  11. I have acne prone skin and i am pretty much confused about choosing the perfect moisturizer for myself, my friend recommended me to go with Safflower Oil moisturizer, i am a lot confused after reading its review [link removed] as here its listed that it comes in glass bottle which can break easily, so can anyone provide me with any other alternative to this which comes in plastic bottle?
  12. Three years ago (my senior year in high school) had to be the worst days of my life. Not only did I get acne, but cystic acne out of no where popped up (no pun intended), and after a few trips to the dermatologist every month, I started to think...What was the cause of this? Was it the chips I was having for breakfast every morning? The Ramen Noodles I was eating every other day? The starches (yes rice, bread, and potatoes---limit your intake) that consist of nearly 75% of my diet, whereas sweet
  13. Hey, I have been on this regimen for around a month and 1 week, and I've still been having flaking and dryness problems from the bp, which the moisturizer isn't fixing. I will apply the moisturizer with about 7 drops of jojoba oil, because the jojoba helps it soak into my skin faster, and adds moisture. When it's pretty much absorbed, my skin looks really greasy and it becomes a few shades more orange than usual. It stays greasy for a little while, and then it's fine for maybe 40 minutes to an
  14. I know you're probably tired of these kinds of threads, but I'm about to change my skincare routine, and I thought I'd run some of these products by you to get your opinions. I have mild/moderate acne, but have been quite unkind to (that is, neglectful of) my skin for the past few years, so I don't know if it's sensitive – but it does get oily, so I don't want anything that will exacerbate that. Here's the list I've come to after a lot of review-reading: Cleanser: Olay Gentle Foaming Face Wa
