  1. Hello everyone, I've had moderate acne since I was 12/13 (I believe my acne is mostly hormonal and make up related). I'm turning 27 this month, and my struggle has only worsened through adulthood (until recently). I'm sharing my regiment with the world with hope that it will help some of you. (Also note, I just purchased the basic kit through this site, and I will update once used for 30 days). *Failed attempts include: antibiotics, Spirolactone, topical Retinol, ProActive, endless over the co
  2. Day 1 - I am starting of at a low dosage of 10mg/day as told by my dermatologist. I just took my first pill right after a heavy meal as I heard heavy meals help the pill to absorb better. My routine consists of gentle cleansing, toner, and moisturizer day and night. I will wear a cc cream with SPF 50 if I go out. Day 2 - I have not experienced any side effects, nor has there been any change in my acne. My friends tell me to try rubbing raw potato on my skin, as it can help clear acne fast
  3. Update 5! Hi guys! I’m sorry I haven’t been able to update on a daily basis or post daily pictures over the past few days. I’ve been super busy. That being said, I stayed consistent with my regimen, which is cool. I would say that my face has been looking just a little bit better. Today’s pictures will be labeled “Day 7” which means it’s been just about a week since this new regimen has become a regular thing for me. While I do think the active acne and the scars that were already
  4. Hi there guys I was just wondering if someone could tell me what severity of acne I have. I have had acne since I was about 12-13 much worse than it is now. Currently I use epiduo every night with aveeno moisturiser afterwards and I use a black pore mask once a week. However despite this I continue to suffer with large red pimples under the skin that are painful and take a long time to go away. Does anyone have any tips to help get rid of these because they make me extremely unhappy and make me

    Accutane At 37

Hi! I am a 37 years old and just started taking accutane (actually the generic Myorisan) 7 days ago. I'm pretty nervous, but am hoping this works! Here's a little of my "skin history." I've never had SEVERE acne, but I have had persistent moderate acne for my entire adult life. During jr high and high school I definitely had pimples, but nothing more or less than what other kids had. I didn't LOVE my skin, but I didn't hate it, either. About my mid-twenties I started to get more and more brea
  6. Hi! i've read many logs about accutane and have found them to be extremely helpful, and i figured i'd make one not just for myself but for people to see another perspective on this medicine and how it works. speaking as a teenage girl, acne is just the worst. probably similar to most of you reading this, i've tried everything possible. i've gone through 3 different antibiotic's, many topicals, almost all available store bought products, proactiv, X-out, etc... and needless to say my famil

    Day 21

DAY 21: So this post is coming a little early after the last one so it'll be short, but I want to get back to posting on Sunday evenings. The progress I've seen has continued -- clear and extremely happy. A couple things have changed since last time though, I've noticed that my face is getting a little drier, like if I don't put on enough facial moisturizer I get tiny, unnoticeable dry flakes under my eyes. No big deal. Also, there have been a couple days were the snot in my nose has been
  8. Hi everyone, So I am 10 days into the Regimen. I've experienced a fair amount of dryness, as promised. I haven't tried the jojoba oil because I'm afraid to add oil to my skin, but I have used lots and lots of moisturizer. I've been especially dry on my chin and around my mouth. I've been pretty impressed by Dan's treatment --- it dries clear, is really lightweight, and allows me to put on my make-up after moisturizer without it looking fake or strange. The big cyst on my right cheek is
  9. Hi all, In October 2017, after >15 years of antibiotics, contraceptive pills, topical treatment and a few dietary approaches I stormed into my doctors office and refused to leave before I was prescribed roaccutane. A colleague of mine had just said my shoulder would look like a "moon crater" which gave me the last push. I was breaking out every month around the start of my period, the scar tissue on my face and back worsened considerably over the years and there was no other cure in sight. H
  10. Hello everybody. Before I start acne took over my life and those who have it really know what I'm talking about... It's difficult to post a picture so I'm going to ask you the severity of my face. It's all genetics for me as my dad had very problematic skin during his teenage years. I sometimes don't leave the house due to the redness.. which drugstore products would be really helpful for my type of skin..? - it gets really oily at the end of the day - kind of sensitive - a little bit te

  14. Hey guys! So first of all I have a little confession that I'd like to make. I'm already on day 40 of my Accutane journey so basically I'm going to start off this log with a basic summary about myself and of how the past 40 days have gone and then I will be regularly updating this log every couple of days, starting from today. Now for a little background info of myself. I'm an 18 year old Canadian male that has been suffering from mild/moderate acne since I was around 13-14 years old. But on top
  15. I am a 16 year old female that has battled with all-around acne since 7th grade (blackheads, whiteheads, cysts, etc). I would probably consider my face either oily or combination skin because I get really oily in my T-zone but sometimes I get dry skin around my lower cheeks, chin, and mouth. I'd consider my acne to be mild-moderate because I have quit a few small pimples with no heads on my forehead, a few with heads, probably around one cyst every two months (small cysts), blackheads ALL on my
  16. I finally have some time on my hands to sit down and write this post. I was keeping a blog on here, but I hadn't updated it in a while and I guess it got deleted. My story: I hardly ever got acne when I was in high school. If I did, it was mostly on my forehead and cheeks, but it was very mild. In my early twenties, I started noticing that I had acne pretty much all the time. It was concentrated on the lower half of my face, and sometimes between my eyebrows. I started using a lot of over t
  17. I know I'm going through Puberty. Will dan's regimen still do its job?
  18. Hi guys, for the past half a year or so my acne has grew steadily worse. As it has worsened i have become a much less social person and rarely enjoy going out due to the fear of ridicule of my skin. I've suffered with acne for the majority of my teenage years (19 Y/O now) (It was severe acne from 16-18) and I have tried many treatments including diet change, regular excersising, accutane, benzonyl peroxide, oxytetracyline and ethromycin. The accutane worked a treat but the side effects were seve
  19. Hi guys, recently I've heard of the supposed benefits of green smoothies. I was just wondering what your opinions are and whether they really help or not. Currently my smoothie recipie is: 1 Bannana 1 Apple 2 Handfuls of spinach Few sprigs of parsley Slice of ginger Small cup of water to achieve a more liquid consistency I tend to drink one in the morning and maybe at lunch depending on how I'm feeling, is this good? Any replies are appreciated, thanks in advance : )
  20. Okay so finally after trying nearly every over the counter product I could gets my hands on I went to a assistant physician ( all the dermatologist were booked.)He prescribed me clindamycin 1% for the morning and tretinoin .025% for night. I've been doing this regimen for two days now and its just gotten worse. My cheeks were smooth and now they are bumby again and my forehead is just getting more and more whiteheads. Has anyone else had this regimen? How did it work for you and when am I g
  21. Hey Dan and everybody else on here. I am a Pakistani with moderate acne. It's not severe but still it's not a good sight. As any other girl I have desperately tried everything from proactiv to drugstore skincare brands to clear my acne, but it did not work. And I am one of those unlucky people who breakout 'cause of tea tree oil (I used it once and ended up with more breakouts ) . I found this site. Lucky for me that I did. I read all of the success stories here and I literally had tears in my
  22. im 27 year old girl and my acne is mild to moderate at times - hormonal i think, but I am really tired of having bad skin at my age. My dermatologist has given me a prescription for very low dose of Roaccutane (10mg) to take but i am really reluctant to do this after lots of research , since there seem to be so many side effects some apparently which can stay with you forever. in any case my acne is thankfully not as bad as a lot of people's but it does really get me down at my age to always ha
