    My First Blog Entry

Hello fellow Acne sufferers, this is my first blog on this site. I joined because honestly acne has become a huge stress in my life and I think blogging would help. To those who decide to read this I will introduce myself. My name is sk8(not posting real name) lol. I am a 17 year old male, yes that may sound weird but even teenage boys can talk about their problems. I am a sponsored skateboarder so that is the influence behind my name. I am still in high school, a junior to be exact. I make dece
  2. Hi. I think there is a greater correlation between how we think and acne. With thinking I mean in the sense of how your mind is operating: your mood, stress etc. I have suffered from acne for five years, and it came around and under my mouth after a really stressfull period with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, I have struggled with it ever since. There was only one time when the acne went away for some months, and that was when I was extremely depressed and didn't care about what I ate or if I
  3. I suffered from acne for about 11 years. 8 of those years it actually affected my life for the worst. So much that I wouldnt be where i am today or be the person I am today because of it. That thought of that alone blows my mind away. It still upsets me from time to time because of what I could have done and learned in that time. But as I look at it I would never be able to help anyone like I hope I can. Just a few facts that I learned on my own about acne that no doctor could ever tell
  4. So today I caught myself being dumb. No surprise I guess This whole time I've always been soo self-conscious of my skin- overly aware when people get close to me- in fact so bad that at times I'd switch sides with whoever so only my "good" side was visible. But tonight when I was out with a few friends-- I realized something when a couple of people were introduced to me- both girls. I noticed both of them had acne. But it was such a subliminal realization that I found myself only fully notin
  5. I am taking a cold hard look into my mind, and trying to find out why I have been so uneasy since my acne has ruined my highschool so far. I looked at all the problems that I've had and I found a solution to all of them is acne. I have been overthinking things, and that's very unlike me. I always think twice about what I'm going to say, whether it be a joke or something. I know it's because I don't know if the person I'm talking to is going to accept what I say. Fear of rejection comes from
  6. Hi guys! I'm trying to solve one big acne mystery. I've been suffering from acne almost 10 years now (I am 23 years old now) and I have tried many things but nothing has helped. Over those years I have eliminated foods that are breaking me out like dairy, sugar(chocolate, sodas, sweets etc.), fried foods, potato chips, nuts, citrus fruit and processed meat (ham, salami...). These are foods that definitely worsen my skin condition. I have even tried for some time vegeterian diet as well as glut
  7. Hi I've posted a few times on these forums, I wanted to provide a different type of dietary "restriction" from what I have been doing. I have been vegetarian for almost 8 years. I have restricted dairy for 1 year. By doing that no improvement. It follows somewhat from Ayruvedic practice of 3 doshas (you can take a test online to see what dosha you are, just google it). there is pitta, kapha and vata. Apparently if you have acne you are high in Pitta dosha, which means you can and can
