  1. Life sucks... I have suffered for acne for like 2-3 years, I tried every fucking thing on the market. I don't even leave my house cause of my acne and pigmented marks. I don't go to party's or anything. Or I am hiding my face. I feel as though I have been cursed. I don't deserve such pain. I can't even take accutane because of my liver, no one on this fucking board knows if Milk thistle can be taken with accutane to prevent an elevated liver. Roche doesn't know, not even my doctor. [-o<
  2. Hi everybody! First time poster here, though I have been following the boards for roughly a month. First, the facts: I am not taking accutane yet and will do so later tonight. In fact, it will be my first pill-- what a momentous occassion. My derma has prescribed 60 mg a day (two 20's in the morning, one 20 at night). I currently weigh around 132 lbs and am 5'6". I am asian american (not like it matters). This is one of my last months as a teenager. At late September, I will be
  3. I continue to research and try to get answers just like any of you, I believe that one day we WILL find the answer to our problem. I truely believe that our solution is NATURAL rememdies. I really feel that chemicals will make our problems worse. Just My Opinion.. I went to a few websites today.. I found one such as www.blessedherbs.com ..It is important that we continue our mission. You guys are great, and this site acne.org is truely a blessing. I dont know what I would do without it.. Keep
  4. Hello everyone, this was the worst week ever! Last thursday (7/7/2016) I took milk thistle 270mg/daily for only 3 days. 2 days later I got a big deep cyst every day. I am crying the whole day because I did 6! Vbeam sessions to get rid of old red acne marks and now my face looks terrible again... I googled if there is a connection between milk thistle and acne. I found a post of a woman who had the same problem and suffered over years from the detoxing effect of milk thistle. She still got thes
  5. Hi guys! I’ve been struggling with acne since I was a teenager (I’m 25 now and still struggling lol) but here’s what I wished I’d known in the past. Natural remedies are the best and supplements help a great deal too. For me, I’ve switched to using aloe gel and jojoba oil as my moisturiser and castor oil (anti-bacterial) for my acne. I also use a raw honey, lemon, cinnamon and nutmeg mask once every 2 days. Also, I’ve started taking some supplements because I highly suspect the cause of my acne
  6. This isn't really anything new as there are dozens if not hundreds of people complaining on this board about accutane side effects. If possible, I'd like this thread to be used to discuss mainly hair loss (and, inherently, any other problems that might be addressed through similar treatment). What happened: I'm 24. A couple of years ago I started accutane by doctor's order because of cystic acne on my face (a first, even though I've always had regular acne breakouts every once in a while). 6
  7. I've recently started supplementing with standardized Milk Thistle one time a day and wondering if anyone has any success, experience with helping with fat digestion and liver cleansing which would ultimately help with inflammation and skin? I am taking doxy in conjunction with Spiro and really wanting to treat my liver well and aid it in all it's work. Since taking doxy I also take a good probiotic, but I noticed an increase in bloating and IBS symptoms since on the antibiotic. However,
  8. well, i thought i'd write about it since this is the clearest my face has been in a long time. what i think has helped me is the recent addition of Flaxseed Oil supplements to my daily routine. although i am not entirely sure that these are solely what has helped me, i am nearly certain because it is the only thing different i have been doing and as soon as i started taking them my acne seems to have subsided. i'll try to be concise and spare my life story... i take Nature Made organic flaxse
  9. Hey, I heard White Willow(AKA Salix Alba L) is good for cleaning the blood. Is it good for acne? Are there any side effects? I have tend to have depression, cancer(many people in my family had) and chron disease(my dad had it). May it cause any of these things? I take Citalopram, Milk Thistle and a lot of vitamins. Are there any interactions? If possible, please post a research or a FDA article. Thanks!
  10. Alright, it all began here when I came to this board in tears because my cystic acne was getting worse and worse. I then ran into a thread on here about how psyllium husk and how your digestive system plays a crucial role in keeping your skin clear. Well, I then began my experiments and finally tailored designed a cure for my skin that maybe can work for you. Things that I tried and failed: Accutane x 2 Birth control Murad Complete system Spiranolactone All antibiotics Chemical Peels After
  11. Hey, I have acne ever since I was 11. I'm 17 now and I feel embarased because of my acne. That's very hard to me to talk to girls. And I'm still a virgin because of that. A few months ago I started taking Milk Thistle and that improved my acne a LOT. But it's not 100% there. I notice that when I get nervous, I get some pimples. The quantity of pimples and size depend on the stress level. I can't get any stress if I don't want to get acne. That's impossible, mostly because my testosterone leve
  12. I was reading up on turmeric and black pepper and thought i'd see if it helps me for my acne like it has for others. i bought some today and used very little bit to begin with. Do people break out with it? I just posted another post: "So lately (the past 2 months) I've had these skin coloured bumps on my forehead and around my hairline. the main like 4-5 seemed to stay forever but 2-1 weeks before my period it seemed there would be 100s of them. they were small, some bigger. they arent red o
  13. Recently I started taking saw palmetto, milk thistle, and applying 2.5% BP at night. After two days I am very near clear !!!. However my skin is very dry and I don't know what or if I should stop doing to have my skin's dryness remedied because I don't want my acne to come back. Thanks in advance.
  14. Hi, sorry to make a whole thread for this but I couldn't find anywhere else to post it. This is my supplement routine, I'm just wondering if I'm doing it properly... taking the correct supplements with and without food, and at the right time between meals, etc. Or if some are better taken in the morning vs. night or vice versa. Let me know if there's anything I could change and why. Wake up, take Chromium GTF (with Vanadium) Drink ACV with distilled water -30 minutes- Eat breakfast/snac

  17. I have never posted here, but I've viewed these boards for years. I had to post because I completely resolved my acne by accident. I'm a 29 year old woman. I've struggled with cystic acne since my teens. I used to get it all over my face. I took Accutane in my teens (big mistake, I believe) and it resolved it for a while, but it came back just on my chin and jawline after a few months. Then I went on birth control pills and that helped a bit for a while too, but I still got breakouts around m
  18. Hi, I just wanted to share my experience. I am 45 years old and have suffered from mild to moderate acne my entire life. My skin has always been very oily, and at times super oily. It is so frustrating! I remember having outbreaks of extremeley oily skin when I was pregnant, and recently it has started happening again--perhaps related to perimenopause. I also developed seborrheic dermititis around my nose. I tried a number of different things, including different cleansers and shampoos and some
  19. I have researched and read that milk thistle and probiotics can play a key role in clearing acne. Has anyone tried or experienced these products, and does it really work? Any feedback would be very helpful

  21. OK...this could be quite a long post, but i went from having seriously severe cystic acne to now having moderate/mild acne, which is getting better every day, so i definitely want to share what i've been doing. I have had acne since i was probabally 12, but it was always mild-moderate. Well, i did have cystic acne sometimes but it was cyclical and went away without scarring. I am 20 years old now, and 6 months ago i broke out with EXTREMELY severe acne. It started out on my forhead and moved d
  22. First off, I am not here to spam anything, you won't see me posting multiple topics or across boards. I have been a member of this forum for many years and am simply posting information on a supplement that I found that has cleared up my acne after using for 4 months. My type of acne consisted of oily skin with multiple white heads and a little cystic acne. Waking up in the morning I was almost sure to find anywhere from 3-5 new white heads. I tried lots of antibiotics, mainly the cyclines: mon
  23. I've been thinking about taking milk thistle and a few other herbs/supplements for my acne. But I've been reading around on the web about the affects of milk thistle. Many people have said that milk thistle is only a temporary fix, and the skin usually breaks out again(maybe even worse than before) a couple of weeks later. Is there anyone who hasn't broken out "again" after starting milk thistle? Please give me your take and experience with milk thistle. Please also list all other liver cleansin

    F*ck yeah!

I just joined this board to share my results with you all. I am 31 years old and have had persistent mild to moderate acne since I was a teenager. I suffer from hard, red papules usually around 5mm in diameter. They are usually on my temples, cheeks, and the crevices between the edges of my nose and my cheeks. I occasionally get one right on my nose or between my eyebrows too. I also usually have a smattering of them on my upper back / shoulders. I have tried just about everything over the
  25. so, we all know it, its CHRISTMAS! which for a lot of us means going out on the razzle dazzle! (aka getting drunk) I have heard beer is the worst offender due to the carbs/sugar etc and then a lot of people advocating that vodka is the best thing to drink with cranberry juice or tonic water. well what do i know ? im just not looking forward to the next 3 weeks lol. gotten so far and now im going to screw it with alcohol. and yes i know no one is forcing me to drink. its self inflicted! bu
