  1. Hi, does anyone who has been on accutane or not know if its okay to have vitamins like, obviously not vitamin A, but like Zinc, Selenium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E etc? If its okay to have herbs like Milk Thistle, Artichoke, Olive Leaf, Oat's etc And if its okay to have other supplements like EFA oil's (flax seed oil, borage oil, evening primrose oil, etc)? And other supplements like aloe vera, glutamate? Would appreciate any advice, thanks

    Three things to try

Okay, so on the health board you always read about a lot of weird things that people have tried and they say it clears them up, like eating nothing but cabbage or bathing your face in horse urine. That's fine, it may work for some people, but to me that's not a fun way to live my life. That being said, I've noticed a real difference with just 3 simple things (or it may be a combination of other factors I'm unaware of, who knows): 1) Lately, I've been drinking lots of Rooibos tea. Now, before yo
  3. Hey, I heard White Willow(AKA Salix Alba L) is good for cleaning the blood. Is it good for acne? Are there any side effects? I have tend to have depression, cancer(many people in my family had) and chron disease(my dad had it). May it cause any of these things? I take Citalopram, Milk Thistle and a lot of vitamins. Are there any interactions? If possible, please post a research or a FDA article. Thanks!

  7. When i started Milk Thistle i broke out big time, i recently tried a liver detox tea, exactly the same result as when i started taking the milk thistle. Is this a sign my liver is full of bad stuff? The breakouts are so bad i couldnt carry on the milk thistle or tea after just about 4-5 days. What exactly can i try? I dont want to break out really bad again but i still believe my liver is having problems and it needs to be dealt with.

    Milk Thistle

I have been taking Milk Thistle for about 2 month now and have noticed a tremendous difference in my cystic acne. My complexion has improved alot. I started to take milk thistle just to do some liver cleansing to help with years of taking medications and such. I did not expect it to help my acne. I had acne as a teenager and was put on accutane. I no longer take it. The effects of that lasted for a couple of years but symptoms started to come on again as I entered adulthood. I am so excite
  10. Okay, here it is people. I've created a list (mainly for males) to help combat hairloss whilst on accutane. Now we can debate all day and night about this, but I believe that accutane hairloss does increase the rate of MPB to a certain degree. Why have I come to this ASSUMPTION? Myself and the guys I know who have been on accutane ALL receded in the same way their mothers fathers had (again, based on unproven averages). Now once starting the tane, the hairloss was more rapid, but only in

  12. So I just came back from my derm appt. and apparently my liver enzymes have gone up quite a bit. They're high, albeit not dangerously so, but my derm doesn't want to take any chances. My derm wants me to stop for a month, get retested and we'll see from there. If they have come down, I'll be put on a low dose (10 mg) until I reach my cumulative dose (~120 mg/kg). What can I do to lower my liver enzymes. I've heard milk thistle is beneficial, is there anything else? Does it work well? Will
  13. I started getting acne at 12!!! For me that's young as no one around me had it. Over the years i bought different facewashes, and went on different antibiotics, but nothing workes except when I went on holiday and the sun and sea water dried up my skin. I also had it on my back and chest so the only times i could confidently walk around in vest tops was at the end of my holiday when the sun had faded the marks left by spots. So, now I'm, 21 and I have still have this problem. About 9 months ago
  14. i had not had beer for nearly 2-3 weeks and noticed a reduction in spots and my acne at times was maybe one or 2 pimples, now 2 days in the past week i drank beer, 1 night i had 3 and one night i had 2, i got new spots hours after drinking my first beer, now on both days i did eat tortilla chips (gluten free, low sodium, organic with sea salt) and a slice of cheesecake, but i am pretty sure its the beer, i recently found out when i was a kid i couldn't eat barley soup because it made me red, bar

  16. I've been looking at herbal supplements for my two teenage sons. I noticed a lot of the prepartions have ingredients that my research show should be helpful for acne and yet they also include kelp. Should we avoid these supplements. For example, I didn't realize it till after I bought it and my sons had taken it for a few days. It is Solaray SKIN SP-4. Contains: Burdock, Gotu Kola, Yellowdock, Dandelion, Milk Thistle, Red Clover, Irish Moss, Cayenne, KELP, Sarsaparilla. Many hopefully beneficia

    boswellia

i read in some yahoo group that taking boswellia has significantly decreased this guys oil production. I was wondering if anyone had tried or is trying it. i'm currently taking milk thistle, for about 5 dyas now. but i kind of have a feeling it may be responsible for a decreased libido.

    F*ck yeah!

I just joined this board to share my results with you all. I am 31 years old and have had persistent mild to moderate acne since I was a teenager. I suffer from hard, red papules usually around 5mm in diameter. They are usually on my temples, cheeks, and the crevices between the edges of my nose and my cheeks. I occasionally get one right on my nose or between my eyebrows too. I also usually have a smattering of them on my upper back / shoulders. I have tried just about everything over the

    Post Accutane

Ok, so I finished the tane close to a month ago now, and up until I'd say close to a week ago I was having doubts about the effectiveness of the product due to the poor condition my skin was left in. Nevertheless, I searched this sight, and borrowed some techniques, and created some of my own, and I think I have something that works. I should start off by describing my skin, because everyones is different, and what works for my skintype may not for yours. My skin before accutane was oily in my
  21. Ive been thinking back to when i took antibiotics and if they could have caused damage to my liver over the time i took them, this is why im currently taking milk thistle. I cant remember how long i took the antibiotic for but it does seem like quite along time now. It was called Erythromycin, i know the likes of accutance are known to cause liver problems, but are the weaker antibiotics as well?
  22. Hey, I have acne ever since I was 11. I'm 17 now and I feel embarased because of my acne. That's very hard to me to talk to girls. And I'm still a virgin because of that. A few months ago I started taking Milk Thistle and that improved my acne a LOT. But it's not 100% there. I notice that when I get nervous, I get some pimples. The quantity of pimples and size depend on the stress level. I can't get any stress if I don't want to get acne. That's impossible, mostly because my testosterone leve
  23. I've been thinking about taking milk thistle and a few other herbs/supplements for my acne. But I've been reading around on the web about the affects of milk thistle. Many people have said that milk thistle is only a temporary fix, and the skin usually breaks out again(maybe even worse than before) a couple of weeks later. Is there anyone who hasn't broken out "again" after starting milk thistle? Please give me your take and experience with milk thistle. Please also list all other liver cleansin
  24. I have decided to try a fully natural diet and health based treatment for my acne which I have unsuccessfully treated for the last 8-9 years. 10 days ago I stopped a course of accutane after only 5 weeks due to unusually difficult side effects: joint pain, headaches, dry eyes, photo sensitivity, nausea, vomiting, and raised cholesterol levels. I have decided to try a fully holistic treatment and may have found something in my family medical history that could be contributing to or fully be the

    Liver problem?

Ive suspected a liver problem before but when ive tried herbs like milk thistle ive always just broke out and i gave up on it. After reading some sites it sounds like it could be something to do with my liver; things like dry, flaky and spotty skin were mentioned on other sites and also suffering from blackheads, dry hair and breaking out from masturbating. So if anyone has suffered from these problems before have you tried anything to boost your liver and seen any improvements?
