  1. I've been hearing a lot about this microneedling over the last year and had considered giving it a try. But it wasn't until I heard a coworker raving about it that I thought I should actually go for it. Basically, you're rolling dozens of tiny needles all over your face, causing controlled injury to the layers of skin and forcing the body to increase collagen production. This improves, apparently, fine lines, scarring, hyperpigmentation, and skin firmness. There are different needle length
  2. So I had a big cyst and it left a hole that has been slooooowly healing. I'm about 5 or 6 weeks into healing now. There is still redness and even a little sensitivity at the center (it is closed)...the indentation is gradually rising, but I'm not sure if it's going to make it all the way (?). Staring "atrophy" right in the face. No pun intended... In the case it doesn't and I'm left with some sort of rolling indentation, I've been reading up on my options to treat. I've seen a number of posts
  3. I have come to realize I have a poor healing response. Any pimple, especially in my cheek area will leave a very shallow indent in its place. I always knew that my skin healed slowly, but now I am scared to start trying different treatments, specifically using the derminator and tca peel. Can anyone give me advice in what route I should take, especially those with the same issue. Can using the derminator cause further damage if my skin's healing ability is not the best? thanks so much!
  4. I have a hypertrophic scar on my forehead. Its very dark in pigment. I have already had a few cortisone shots to flatten it. I have done a few peels but none are working to remove the dark color and I barely see any improvement. Retin a and hydroquinone are not helping it to lighten. I went to a few derms and they suggested either Fraxel Dual or Intracel RF microneedling to help improve the scar at this point. The scar has lichened, meaning it has a leathery appearance. Its not smooth. Sho
  5. Hi, I thinking about microneedling radiofrequency for rolling acne scars, however I've red it is used also for hyperhidrosis treatment (by destruction of perspiratory glands). My concern is if this procedure going to destroy perspiratory gland on the face also?
  6. Hi all, I've been using my .5 roller 1-2 times a week for a couple of months. It's really improved a lot of issues caused by barrier damage (my skin routine helped too). My scarring is looking better and my texture is improving. I want to use a 1.5 stamp every six weeks instead of the roller because it seems a lot easier, and I want to go for more textural improvement. I have to say that rolling takes me a long time, and I'm super busy this semester with constant school and a new job. I can'
  7. Well well well, here I am. Back again. Back in the early 00s this community gave me so much support. I thought I would come back and give an update. Back then I was known as "Guardedly Optimistic" now i'm "Guardedly Optimistic 2017" This is the thing, it's a journey. My skin is still very damaged; mostly visible under harsh over head lighting. But...and get this...I ended up pursuing my dream of being an actor and filmmaker! Yes, acne and scars and insecurities and all that crap was not goin

    Three month update

    From the album: Microneedling Journey

I definitely think I see a difference on this side after three months, though. And overall hypermigmentation is much better.
  9. From the album: Microneedling Journey

So it's been just about a month since I've started with microneedling. I don't feel like I've seen a lot of physical progress, but my skin feels soft as cream.
  10. Hi all, what needle length should I use for a shallow pock mark scar on my forehead? Thanks in advance.
  11. Hi, I am interested in purchasing a dermastamp but I hear purchasing a dodgey one could do more bad than good. So could anyone here who's experienced recommend where they purchased their dermastamp? Also has anyone purchased from the site below and can testify? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Derma-Micro-Needle-Stamp-1-5mm-Scars-Acne-Pits-Wrinkles-CIT-/231313658682?pt=US_Skin_Care&hash=item35db5e533a&_uhb=1 Thanks
  12. Hi peeps. I have an appt this week with a surgeon in the Boston MA area for acne scar revision surgery. Specifically, the office offers CIT (microneedling) and mat offer the PRP as well. I think they also do subcision and laser techniques when needed as well. Anyway, my concern is about any potential downtime from the CIT which I will be most likely getting after the initial consult. Is there any and how much? The reason I am asking is because I am starting a new job on 2nd sh
  13. I just found this study online, in which the participants' scars were treated with microneedling and glycolic peels, both performed on the same day. There was significant improvement. I am curious to find out if anyone has ever tried this. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22151943
  14. Hi all! I've been off accutane for 9 months. I had it in my head that you had to leave it 6 months before considering scar treatment, so left it longer just to be on the safe side. Today I had a consultation with a plastic surgeon about my acne scarring. He has suggested 3 treatments using the official derma roller, followed by one chemical peel at the end. I'm happy with this treatment plan. However, during the consultation the surgeon said "you've been off accutane for 12 months yes??
  15. If you've done some reading on the treatments available for scarring, you probably would have come across horror stories; especially from laser. After all, its just nature to overestimate the odds of dreadful but infrequent events. And I'm ultimately, not rewarded for not taking any action. Somewhere in April, I've tried out dermarolling; which I'd seen slow but substantial results from. Strengthened by newer advances in technology, I'm glad that I've finally took the first step to solve my prim
  16. The pictures below are the result of the first dermapen treatment Hi everyone, I have been wondering around this site and on youtube for the past few years trying to find out how to get rid of my rolling and boxcar scars on my cheeks. I was an inch away from having a CO2 laser done but I my mind kept telling me to try the dermaroller first due to how expensive it was I made a pledge to myself that once I find out something that works I will give back that knowledge. After sev
  17. I'm sorry to start a new thread--I know there's a main dermarolling support thread but it wasn't that helpful. 1) I know JGGlobal has been recommended, Owndoc.com, and Dr. Roller. I'm also seeing lots of titanium alloy rollers on Ebay that are not those brands. How do you guys feel about Ebay? Right now I'm not sure that I'm willing to spend more than $20. I have icepick scars, saggy, mottled skin, small cysts, papules, whiteheads, blackheads and broken capillaries--itchy or cystic s
  18. Ugh... ProFractional really screwed up my skin. It's been 7 months since I had it done and I wish I could go back and warn myself to never mess with it. My skin is more sensitive, gets red and blotchy very easily, cannot handle Retin A micro anymore - none of these were issues in the past. My scars are also more obvious. I can't believe I paid to do this to my skin Anyways, be careful if you are considering this. The reviews seem extremely mixed. I am not the only one that has ended up with
  19. 23 female suffered from acne since 2012. Started Accutane on 2016 July. 80mg a day 6 months. No more acne. But left with so many scars. 20. Using Derminator for the first time,I am oily skin,How can I care? When did I start using sunscreen?thank you all
  21. Post three weeks subcision/PRP and my dermatologist in England has recommended Infini which I quickly accepted. During the procedure I noticed that Infini did not have that "oomph" or burning flesh sensation that I experienced with Fractora Firm back in 2014. I remember this laser gave me noticeable results in a month but was VERY expensive for one session compared to Infini RF. Post-session I noticed there were no immediate scabs with Infini compared to Fractora Firm. I spoke with the der
  22. I'm 26, light skinned, have acne scars and polluted skin (trying to combat the latter with peelings to some success). I believe my acne scars are mild, they're definitely not deep, they look like spots. I can post pictures, or if someone would be nice enough I'd send a PM with the worst lightning possible to show my face Anyway, I've heard that in some cases dermapen is used by beautician not a doctor. I'm definitely going to try derma pen but my question is - some suggested a micro needling (d
  23. Is the EDS dermastamp any good for shallow atrophic scars? Is it better than dermaroller or are they both useless? I can get the dermastamp done with a needle length of up to 2mm.
  24. I had two sessions of RF Micro needling treatment with a 40 days Gap in between the two sessions, for 2 days after each treatment my scars looked lift up and i felt good and after that my scars went to where they were before, And also i see a significant amount difference in scars during mornings times when i wake up and the same old depressed scars in the evenings or after i am tired. So is there any chance that my scars will show any improvement and if so how many treatments should i undergo a
  25. Lots of different websites have varying guidelines as to which needle length to use and how long you should wait in between treatments. Some people even seem to either not do their research or ignore advice and just do whatever they feel is right - which can either be way too over the top or too conservative. For argument's sake, here are OwnDoc's guidelines: 0.2 or 0.25 mm long needles can be used every second day on the same skin area 0.5 mm long needles can be used once or
