  1. DAY 16 update. So the combination of YAZ and Spironolactone has resulted in my period being extended to the current 15th day. My menstrual cycle is usually painful, heavy, and lasts around 5 days. (So heavy that I have to go for iron infusions at the hospital.) Presently, my bleeding has ranged between light/medium. The combination of starting the birth control pill again (after a long while) along with spironolactone has resulted in my hormones going slightly unhinged. While my hormones are s
  2. So..for the past month and a half my skin has been going downhill progressively. It's driving me crazy as I have been trying everything I can think of but nothing is helping! All through highschool i would get the odd pimple but nothing crazy. During my final few months of highschool however, I broke out the worst I ever had and I'm pretty sure it was due to stress ( I had also had my mirena IUD for six months) Now a year and a half later, my skin has gone on a roller coaster of okay (never as
  3. Hi there Well I started Roaccutane 3/4 months ago, first two on 20mg last 3 to be 40mg. I haven't had my period since starting the treatment, and I also opted out of the pregnancy protection programme meaning I don't take birth control (due to my young age, I'm only 14 and my mum advised me not to, also I'm not sexually active either). I was reading online and came across a forum where at least 300 people were infertile and all had taken accutane. My derm didn't warn me of this and it is not
  4. Hi there, I'm currently on 40mg of Accutane and I'm 40 days late on my period. I'm just wondering when my cycles will go back to normal? I've heard browsing through some past posts that irregular periods can occur, but it's not listed as a side effect on the medication pamphlet that comes with Accutane. I'm not on any form of contraceptives but I'm not sexually active and I will never be at a risk for engaging in any sexual activity. I got my blood test results back last week which revealed I'
  5. Did anyone have their period acne cured by Accutane? I'll be fairly good for most of that month them BAM like 7 cysts in one day on my period. It's horrible and emotionally wrecking. It also takes MONTHS for the cysts to heal ;( I am thinking about a low dose ??
  6. Hi everyone, I have a question for the girls. It's kind of icky so please bear with me and give me some advice and set my mind at ease. This is my third day on Accutane (30mg/day) and I started taking the drug like the day before I was due for my period. I got my period yesterday and I barely got anything on the first day apart from some brown spotting. This is normal for me and I did not think much of it. But today, I noticed my flow got all of a sudden became very heavy. However
  7. So I was prescribed Sprinolactone two months ago and I have been on generic Yaz birth control for a few years now. My last period was four days late and I am two days into this months and I have only had light cramping. I read it's not as common to have this issue while on birth control but can anyone give me insight before I call my dermatologist? Has anyone else also had this issue? I am sexually active and it has been it has been freaking me out until I finally looked up the side effects of S
  8. In the past 3 months my confidence has been ruined by these breakouts I'm having. Usually my acne isn't that bad only moderate but sometimes I will get huge painful zits. My acne is always present no matter how much it improves. In the last 2 weeks my skin has gone from ok to being some of the worst Ive ever had. I think it could be a hormonal issue because for a long time I didn't have periods due to an eating disorder and only 3 months ago I got it back. Then my self esteem started to crum
  9. Intro/ramble: hi guys so its been a while, im back with another research topic because i'm just curious and want to brainstorm. ok so. the times i break out are two days before ovulation and including ovulation day, and about a day before my period. i always break out in the same spots, too. (spots, ha, get it, nvm). so im currently ovulating and i have a pimple right in between my brows, and my skin feels super sensitive and just really soft, but not in a good way, like m
  10. i think the heading says it all. i will just elaborate saying that i would like you to add your valuable opinion on what dietary changes, lifestyle modifications, habits and safety measures one should take up near that time of the month. i primarily talk about those who are not on any bcp or hormonal treatment but it should be equally good for those who do as well. add notes, anecdotal evidences or anything you feel or know is related to hormonal acne and it's 'other-treatments'. also,
  11. Okay, so I started taking accutane a few months ago, I'm currently on my fourth month, and the doctor is having me take two pills a day, each 40mg, so that's a total of 80mg per day. I'm doing abstinence as my form of birth control, and I have never had any sexual intercourse, so there's no way pregnancy can ever be an option. Anyways, recently, I've noticed that my period has started to get off and it's never been late on me before. It's fairly consistent, occurring within 21 days, lasting 7 da
