  1. 2. Has anyone tried orange corrector/concealer for hyperpigmentation and NOT dark circles? I'd like to know what your experience was, which ORANGE correctors you have tried..? I know it's common to use for dark circles, sun damage and to prevent brown skin tones from looking ashy when wearing foundation, concealer, powder & all these dark products have a very high pore clogging rate. Anyway lol, let me know what worked and didn't. Cheers!
  3. Hi, I've been on 200mg of Spiro daily for 8 months now to treat a lovely combo of: hirsutism, hair loss and cystic acne (go me lol). It's been amazing at improving all that, but these past couple months I've noticed some darkening on my chin and a bit near my temples. I wear proper sunscreen and sunhats to protect myself and haven't tanned this summer (I'm already a light olive complexion anyway). I'm not on birth control, haven't been in over a year and I never had this issue while on bcp.
  4. I've had bad hyperpigmentation since I was 16. It has gotten somewhat better, but they still remain with Icepick scars. I think most of it has to do with my constant time in the sun during he sports, but I'm 20 now. So my dermatologist has been putting me on tretinon and aczone and I have seen slight improvement with 4 months of use. But the main thing that won't go away are the ice pick Scars that make my pores look TERRIBLE under florescent light. I've bought the AHA from the store on th
  5. Here is my regime. Cleanse (w/washcloth): Kojie San Soap approx $5 for 2 bars or Giovanni Dtox cleanser $8 Eyes: Cetaphil moisture Treatment: Maxi Peel Exfoliant #2 (am &pm) approx $8 SPF: Rocky Mountain SPF 30 approx $8 I have not found a evening moisturizng for full face. I cannot use any "cones", waxes, butters, oils or I will break out. I have yet to find a moisturizer without these ingredients for night moisture. I am beyond ecstatic with my results w/ Kojie San Soap &
  6. I have been on many acne medications and the only time they really worked was in early puberty. Accutane twice; aldactone for four years (horrible, made me sallow and hyperkalemic); and now, antibiotics (Doryx/Doxycycline) for a year. I have been off it a month because it messed up my gut flora. (I did a course of Fluconazole for that.) In the last year a doctor finally asked for a right blood taste and noted I have elevated cortisol in my blood, something that never occurred to me. An e
  7. I had acne scar treatment done by local doctor. He claim that his technique was unique. In 1 session, he combined 5 lasers (include CO2, Q-swithch, IPL, long-pulse, Erbium YAG). I had 2 sessions. It been almost 2 months and I notice some that I got discolouration which I never had before. It look like a shadow on my face in every picture every angle and every light. I am worry that this will be something permanent like melasma cause during the downtime after each treatment, the doctor didn't all
  8. Hello, I recently, 17 days ago, had a micro-needling or dermapen session to remove old acne scars and shrink pores but instead my skin looks worse! I researched this procedure for an entire year before I was sure I wanted to do it. I am someone who only does things naturally so this means I have been almost chemical free for many years. I did start using Cerve foam face cleanser a few months ago to help balance my skin's ph. I am very cautious of what I put on my skin. For example, I k
  9. Hi everyone! So after being on the same birth control (Sprintec) for a few years, I started developing melasma about 2 years ago. I went to my OBGYN, who recommended that I try switching pills (to Nortrel). Horrible mistake. The melasma didn't clear up, but after about 4 months, I started developing horrible cystic acne. I was a bit dense, and couldn't figure out what was happening. (And of course the derm I was seeing just threw topical after topical at me, to no avail.) Finally, I realized t
  10. I've had mild to moderate acne for many years, which worsened enough a few years ago that I had to take Accutane. That helped for a few years. However, I recently had my daughter and my acne picked up a bit again. When I stopped nursing about 3 months ago, my skin went nuts. My derm put me on Spironolactone and I've been on it for about 6 weeks. (I also started using Proactiv). My skin is clearing up very slowly (the verdict is out whether it's the spiro or the Proactiv), but now I'm devel
  11. Hi all am new here. Have battled 100's of these pesky bumps all over my face since I've been a teen am now 32 year old female. Have tried accutane, lasers, every script under the sun and most worked well but now I'm covered with melasma all over my face. I'm currently using finacea gel 15% (azelaic acid) but I don't have Rosacea or inflammatory acne. Thus it's not working much for the bumps but seems to be helping the melasma. Any idea if I can mix finacea in the morning and salicylic
  12. Hello, My hormonal issues have left me with melasma (darker patches of skin) under my eyes...it's kind of like hyperpigmentation but it's very difficult to lighten, much less completely remove. So far, I have been semi-successful with aloe peels, lactic acid peels, balancing hormones as much as possible, vitamin C serum, etc. BUT it's still there! I've had it for almost 2 years now, and I can't even fully cover it up with makeup. You can see a photo here (discoloration under my eyes): http
  13. Just ordered a green handheld led light from led man. I wondered if anyone else in here suffering sun damage/melasma has done this treatment? I went with led man for this purchase because the green panels in the right nanometers were too hard to find. After emailing back and forth, he was actually kind enough to link me to a Monday special so I could get ten bucks off. So, he was actually great to deal with. If anybody in here has done green light therapy, I would love to hear their experi
  14. I'm beginning to feel a little hopeless and not sure what to do. I've always had "meh" skin, until I started birth control in college. My acne pretty much disappeared. A few years ago, though, I started noticing some facial pigmentation that the doctor later told me was melasma. It's mostly above my upper lip so, despite having pretty much no hair there, it looks like I have a mustache. It's very embarrassing, to say the least. Two years ago, my doc switched me to a different BC to see if
