  1. Hi readers, I apologize for not updating in awhile, but I hadn't had much change to write about until now. I just entered my 4th month on Zenatane and have noticed a few new things. First off, my skin is about 99% clear right now! Its a wonderful feeling to be able to just walk outside without any makeup on and feel confident. I have noticed some minor scaring and a few very tiny ice pick marks but I am trying not to be too concerned about them because I know isotretenoin can make scars more
  2. I'm still using the medication, and the dial soap I switched to a black soap from Boscia (But still switch them both on and off). Also I am using a good moisturizer. But I have notice big changes after I stopped using my medication amitriptyline maybe I should start taking it again, or is my body detoxing??? I could really use some advice on what to do...wait it out or continue my use of it?

    Hello

Hello Guys, so I have started taking Accutane about 5 weeks ago. As I am very interested in the topic and have been reading a log of logs lately I thought it might be nice to share my experience with you. First, a little bit about myself. I am 16 years old, I am from Germany (so pardon any grammar mistakes) and I have been suffering under acne since I was about ten. I have had all levels of acne. It started out really light and kept getting worse until I was 14. Then it went back and for a fe
  4. It's been almost a month since my last entry. Unfortunately, my skin has gone worse. It has been incredibly frustrating to be in this position and I am seriously starting to get a little bit depressed. not too serious. But serious enough that I would avoid seeing anyone else but my boyfriend. It doesn't help that my family (mum especially) scrutinizes my face every single day. I remember one day we were at the dining table and for a good 20 minutes, we talked about my acne. I am on oral med
  5. Human microbiome is a big eco-system/community with trillions of living microorganisms that reside largely in your gut. Another microbiome as a host to millions of microorganisms/ bacteria is your skin. And in every microbiome ( your gut or skin ) you have good and bad bacteria. But as within any ecosystem - balance is the key. By certain things trying to destroy or introduce we can throw things out of balance. So when the bad bacteri
  6. Hello everyone, hope you are well! I think we can all agree that acne sucks, right? It can cause you to feel self conscious, suffer with anxiety and cause long term self image issues - Along with many other feelings. I decided to make this blog because i have just started medication to try clear up my skin. ***disclaimer*** I understand that different things work for different people/different skin types and not all products with effect an individual in the same way, this is what has
  7. This week I started my 4th pack of Yasmin and it's the first time that it didn't broke me out at all (not complaining about the one teeny tiny spot I got) like it used to do while starting a new pack. My face hasn't been pimple-free since ages. Yasmin has work wonders for me so far. My periods are the most regular they have ever been. It hasn't done a lot to prevent my excessive hair growth, but the doc told me that I'll probably see difference after a couple more months of using the pill.
  8. So finally after 8 months I am acne free! I hope this is the last time I take accutane. This has been my second time. While I have no pimples, I have lots of scaring and little holes from popping pimples before. Hopefully the scars fade and later on I can get something done about these little deeper scars holes. I finished accutane about 5 days ago. I still have a bit of dry lips and my hair still isn't oily. Maybe within a week I'll go back to being oily as usual. I definely feel better now and
  9. So basically after a lot of thinking and a lot of experience of prescribed meds and a lot of research (I'm still not done researching) I have decided to come off Metformin and try a more natural way of controlling my hormonal breakouts of acne that unfortunatly, come with having P.C.O.S I have been on Metformin for over a month now and I'm not really sure how I feel about it. To begin with I'm not really sure exactly why I was prescribed it. I understand it is supposed to regulate periods b
  10. Hi there! So I finally completed my first month on Zenatane woo woo!! My blood work came back looking great so my dermatolgist decided to increase my dosage to 60mg. I'll admit, I was a bit nervous of what side effects way arise when the dosage was upped but within the last 2 weeks I haven't experienced anything drastic or scary. However, my skin has gotten A LOT drier since taking 60mg daily. I've been able to continue wearing foundation but it tends to flake really badly if I move my face a
  11. SO This is the third week into the process... I cant believe its almost a month into it. As like my other two posts I will break down this blog. BEFORE I go into everything I just wanna say that I am still at two pills a day at 30 mg. The accutane medication is called Absorica. SIDE AFFECTS: VERY DRY skin. My skin On my face is very dry and parched. Its flaking ad every time I try to cover something with makeup it makes my skin look worse. The medical moisturizer that they gave me is
  12. Hello everyone, Hope you're all well and happy. As of last Tuesday I have officially started my course of Roaccutane and I wanted to share my experience of why I went on it and the results of my first week. If you have any questions please feel free to message me. Okay! So here is my story: I started my first year of university in September 2015 with pretty average skin. I had been on Ethromycin, tetracycline and Lymacycline periodically since I was fifteen and I'm now nineteen but my s
  13. Hello! So I decided to do a useful post after moaning and sinking deeper into depression about my skin and I've been doing a lot of thinking over the past few weeks and seeing my endocrinologist etc.. For anyone currently on/considering/reconsidering roaccutane a.k.a accutane, here is a list of my pros and cons after two courses. PROS. 1) IT WORKS - for a time Yes roaccutane will clear you up, yes it does work in that respect, but at a price, and only for a limited amount of time in m
