  4. So i'm sitting here with a bunch of moisturizer on my face feeling super sexy because my skin is looking DAMN GOOD. All jokes aside, i'm honestly wondering why I didn't go to a doctor to get anything prescription until now. My acne was never serious, but it was worse than mild. I'd say it was in the moderate/mild range depending on what I was doing to it at the time. I struggled for years with bad skin. I had to wear makeup at all times- NO ONE got to see me without makeup (not my parents, n
  5. Went to the docs today to change my pill because I’ve noticed my acne began when i started taking it (am currently on ovranette) and it settles on my pill free week. Done some research and a forum on here suggested yasmin to be the best for acne due to the anti-androgen progestin and ovranette to be the worst due to its progestin. Asked my doc for yasmin and instead she has given me marvelon which is categorised as one that doesn’t worsen or treat acne. Has anyone used this pill? Don’t know whet

  8. Hey, I have had terrible acne since i was about 13 and i am 17 now. All dermatologists have given me is strong, drying and abrasive cleansers and creams which as a result made my face feel horrible and did not help. Nothing i have tried has helped and now I'm left with scarring and marks in addition to consistent breakouts. The only thing that kind of worked for me is Doxycycline antibiotics however, i came off these to try a natural method as i was not fully satisfied with the results and my
  9. Hi, I'm half way through my second pack of marvelon and my skin is terrible. Before going on it my skin wasn't great, but I would usually only have around 2 spots at a time and the rest just red marks. Now, I have a big breakout on my cheeks and jawline. I read that lots of people get an initial breakout when they start BC, but I thought it would have died down a bit by now, but it's really bad. Can anyone who has tried marvelon tell me if they experienced this too and how long it lasted? I
  10. Hi I am new to acne.org, but thought i would join and post my experience so far and find out others experiences. I first got acne about a year and a half ago when i was 22 after never previously suffering it (not even in my teenage years). After a few months i built up the courage to consult a doctor who told me to use BP and prescribed Lymecycline. I stuck to this for 6 months with no results whatsoever. I went back to the doctor who has now put me on the birth control Marvelon and Retin A,
