  1. Hi everyone, I’m looking at getting advice on how to finally clear my acne that I’ve had from age 16 to now 19. Here’s my backstory. (Male from the UK). I had cystic moderate acne on my face for about a month aged 16 before I finally went to the doctors. I was prescribed lymecycline capsules (antibiotic) and benzoyl peroxide cream. It worked and did clear the cystic acne to some extent. About a year in I swapped benzoyl peroxide for adapalene because the BP was too drying on my skin. At 18 I
  2. I am a 23 year old male who has had mild/moderate acne over the last 3 years. Made it all through high school with the occasional stress pimple and such and started off college great. During my sophmore year things changed. I got acne all over my face. I had never had it before like this and it was very sudden as in a few months it all showed up. It got to the point where I would only go to class and track practice and that was it. I was originally put on minocycline, trentinion cream and ben
  3. Im 14 nearly 15 and I've had acne and oily skin since I was 10 (i know I was young), but suddenly my oily skin has gone and in my t-zone it's normal and the rest of my skin is dry. Does this mean that my acne is going? As it has dulled down a bit lately. I just thought that I'm too young for my acne to go already, even though I wish it would.
  4. Hello, thanks for reading my log. Before I start my journey, here is a little bit about my situation... I am 17 years old with a combination of moderate cystic and inflamed acne. I have dealt with this for quite some time now, and have tried just about every diet alteration/natural remedy in the book. Although I am a health freak, I decided on March 1st, 2016, that I would begin taking Accutane. I am doing this for the betterment of my communication and social skills, as I am going into the po
  5. Yo guys! First of all, happy new year! I hope 2015 was great for you and I hope that this new year of 2016 will be even better! Anyways, I'll try to make this as short as possible. (SKIP TO THE 2ND PARAGRAPH TO GET TO THE POINT IF YOU'RE IN A HURRY! ) I'm a 17 year old male that has mild scarring at worse. I would say that 87% of people with acne scars have slightly worse or way worse scars than me and 13% people with acne scars have less noticeable scars than I do. So in other words,
  6. Hey everyone, recently started searching all about acne since I've had a very bad breakout about 3 months ago so I thought I'd share my story. First off I'm 19 years old and male, have oily skin and huge pores which I inherited from my mom. All throughout high school from grades 8-12 I thought my acne was really bad with around 4-5 zits around my forehead and my temples. In reality it was just me freaking out because everyone around me had perfect skin. I did use benzol peroxide 0.05% or 5% i
  7. Hi, i'm a 30yo male with acne around the jaw, chin, moustache, neck. I never had any acne as a teenager. I've had consistent acne from 23-30. Everything i read says it's due to poor digestion or, however i've tried probiotics at length. My cheeks/nose/forehead are completely clear. I'm completely at a loss. My diet is good. No coffee, very little sugar, dairy etc. Has anyone had the same experience? I'm told it's leaky gut but i'm yet to see a specialist about that. Thanks in advance.
  8. So basically, a few months ago i had a horrible cystic breakout, and for a while i've been left with some prominent hyerpigmentation. Progress has been rather slow, and i have noticed subtle fading with the help of prescribed Azelaic Acid. Yet every time i look in a mirror, i become fearful that when these marks do leave, i will be left with more permanent scarring. If any of you could take a look, and from personal, or secondary experience suggest whether i should worry or not, that would b
  9. Hey everyone, new to the forums and I have some questions about vitamins and my skin. Im 15 and going to be a sophomore this year. Ive had acne since 7th grade and it has gotten worse over the years. In 7th grade it was my chin, 8th grade it was my forehead, and 9th grade it was chin and my cheeks. My cheeks are the only things now that have bad acne on them and its really annoying because of the scars they leave behind. Ive tried everything until i decided to just switch to a mild cleaner and m
  10. Hey all. I'm not sure if this is the best place for this thread, but lets go anyway. Before I start, I want to say I can understand this topic being crindgy, and a bit strange but I think it's a valid topic, and one worth discussing. Most men, and maybe the same can be said for women? But yeah most people masturbate in my opinion, men especially, I'd know, it's normal, just like anything else. I'll admit recently after splitting up with my girlfriend some months ago, I have been addic
  11. So my roaccutane journey begins here. I have hesitated to take this but I though I'll give it a go , sick and tired of myself and trying to treat acne for 4-5 years. So Today 04/12/13 I have gotten my tablets from the pharmacy it's a 2 month dose , If all goes well I will receive another 2 month dose after and my treatment should be done in 4 month since my dose is high "70mg" wasn't so sure about that but I hope I won't get too many side effects and that I can carry on training. Day 1/122 :
  12. Hello everyone. I'm in my mid 20's and have been suffering from Acne. No matter what I try I still have it. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't affecting my life drastically. I'm at the point where instead of trying to cure it I want to hide it. I've been using MURAD Acne Treatment Concealer Stick. Honestly, it's better than nothing but it's kind of powdery, seems to dry my skin, and it may be the wrong shade because I feel like it's a little too light and obvious. I've seen a few videos o
  13. Hey guys, im starting my accutane and wanted to let you guys know how it goes! Im a 15 y/o male thats 6'1 155. I started getting Acne when i was about 12 (yes) and it has progressed since then. Currently i have acne on my Chin, Forehead, and Back. I am on 40mg claravis a day (the exact same thing as accutane, except just a generic brand, so don't worry) lol Acne was getting sort of terrible for me being an athlete and such, almost always having sweat or oil on my face and it started suckin
  14. I have two questions about CP. You can skip over the little anecdote I've provided in italics. I have been using Clindamycin Phospate topical lotion now for over 3 months now. My skin has been consistently moderate. Sometimes it clears up well for several days. Sometimes it gets a little worse than moderate. How I've been using it has also been consistent for quite some time now: Morning: -PanOxyl 10% BP facewash -Apply Clindamycin Phospate to clean, dry skin -wait several
  15. Hello everyone, excited to be a part of this community! My name is Dylan for starters. Let's start by telling you about my skin situation since that's what this shindig is all about, eh? I've had acne ranging from moderate to severe ever since about late ninth grade (by United States grade standards) and I feel like I've done almost everything under the sun to help it clear up, although... statistically speaking I'm sure that statement is very far from the truth. I've strayed from traditional
  16. Hello to all, I have started this log based upon my current accutane regimen, which to be honest im not entirely sure im ready for. But here it goes anyways . My name is Jason and I am a 29 year old male who was recently just put on accutane again. Now let me give you a little bit of a run down of my history. When i was probably around 15-16 years of age, I had severe cystic/nodule acne on my face, back, and chest area. After trying numerous remedies or possible solutions the doctor finall

  18. Hey guys so my story is that over the span of 2-3 months I started to experience small pimples around my cheeks and even tho I took concern of it I did not think a dermatologist was needed now over time my acne got more severe to the point that I hate looking at myself. I have never had acne in my life. I’m currently 19 and during high school I never had acne in my life always some acne that came and go. However this time is different. My entire face has been plagued with acne and I finally wen
  19. I am 31 years old today and still got zits n blackheads etc etc This is depressing.... come on year 2012, I want this to be a clear skin year!!!
  20. I'm really confused because my derm put me on Accutane today and she registered me into iPledge and gave me the booklet and the ID cards and everything, but I'm not sure if I have to log into the iPledge program because all these posts say stuff about having to have your password emailed to you but I never got an email nor did my derm say anything about passwords or usernames, she just mentioned my ID cards and that she registered me... Do you only need a password to log on to if your a female a
  21. Hello everyone, I came for a question I would like an answer to. I've been having acne since I was 16 now and tried pretty much everything. I'm on the regimen now. Although it never really cleares up. When I was younger it was mainly on my forehead, but since my 18th (i'm a 21 year old male now), it's mostly around my mouth and sometimes on my neck, but almost never on my cheeks. I've heard acne around the mouth is caused by an hormonal imbalance. It's really depressing that ever
  22. Could anyone please help with identifying what could be the root problem for my acne? I'm male, 27 years old, acne since puberty. Around nose, mouth and on scalp. I have something opposite of cystic acne, pimples mostly show up on outer layer of skin. Of all the tests I'v taken and doctors visited, only IgG4 food sensitivity panel show up that there's something wrong with me. High sensitivity to grains and gluten, dairy, few fruits and veggies. But as weird as it sounds, most of the time it
  23. Intro and Day 2: So here I am.. I do not want to be writing this post because for the last two years I have been telling my dermatologists they're idiots and that I do not need accutane. My journey with acne acne began around the age of 14, my mother (who I am most like) has a history of severe acne but my brother who is two years older never experienced anything aside from mild acne. My family doctor, who I love and am thankful for has tried every option out there to help me avoid acc
  24. Hi Everyone, I've been reading this discussion board for quite some time now. It has always helped me formulate an attack against acne. I like to call it an attack rather than defense because I've decided I'm going to stop acne before it happens and stop chasing it away with an antibiotic or spot treatment. That is why I have started a course of Claravis. I'm a 24 y/o male. My skin is confusing, I do not have moderate or severe acne, it is much more on the mild side. I have been dealing with
  25. I am a 34 year old male As a teenager I had problems wit acne on my chest While I did also suffer from Rosacea I didn't get many spots on my face. The chest acne cleared up in my early and mid 20's In the years afterward I had far from perfect skin but breakouts were mild and I was able to treat redness with sudocream However in the last two years I have had major out breaks including cyst spots and my skin in worse than its ever been The majority of the spots are on my forehead and ne
