  1. It has been three years since I've been off Accutane. While on it I had the usual dry lips, etc. But my lips have gotten worse. They hurt all the time - hurts to talk, laugh, drink. And they "shed" every other day or so. I've tried everything my derm has suggested. Been on all kinds of meds and treatments and nothing. I'm starting to worry that it will never go away. Derm says it's Cheilitis but has never seen a case where it's continued this long. We are at a loss. Anyone else have this? Know o
  2. Hi there, Been on oxytetracycline (antibiotics) for 3 months now, it has definitely controlled my acne and has reduced. I think my doc is going to take me off them soon. However, I am now worried that once I come off antibiotics all the acne is going to come back again. Does anybody have any long-term solutions to keep acne at bay or get rid of it? p.s. my skin doesn't normally react well to stuff being applied onto it Thanks
  3. Since about 10 or 11, I've always had mild to moderate acne. At age 16, I decided to see a dermatologist because benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid were not giving me satisfactory results. I was initially put on a regimen of Acanya (BP/Clindamycin), Epiduo (BP/Adapalene), and oral doxycycline. My acne improved somewhat, but my skin was terrible. It was chronically dry, red, and irritated. I eventually decided to eliminate BP from the regimen, and went on simple Clindamycin and Adapalene. My acn
  4. Hi, Acne.org! This will be my first time posting in the acne.org forums. I have a question for the 10 mg Accutane users. I'm very concerned about the low dose treatment being effective long-term for me. I've been taking the 10 mg per day for exactly two months today (2015-10-14), and will be starting my third pack for 10 mg tomorrow (2015-10-15). I cannot find anything on the long term effects of 10 mg, and it's driving me crazy - generally all I can find are the people who have just started
  5. Hello first time post the topic ^ ^ Started using this product line because my skin is oily and sometimes small pimples will appear on temple area, forehead area and the lower jaw area. In addition, my face have many printed pox (acne marks) which left for a long time. Tried many products which have salicylic acid, accutane, tartaric acid and azelaic acid, but the effect is almost invisible. Now I used these products for about 2 days and my face started become dark (the whole face not just the
  6. Hi All, I been on this forums a few times regarding my acne, but i have never really posted or shared my experience with acne. I have had acne for over 4 years now. We are not talking about the mild pimples here and there; we are talking about BAD acne. I started to have acne around the age of 16 years. Being pretty concerned about my face, i did whatever it took to get rid of it. During my first visit to the dermatologist, she prescribed me soloydn ( i forget how strong it was). A few mon
  7. I need help. My husband and I really want to have a baby, but my acne has been a problem for a while now - and we've been putting off having a baby for me to try and take care of my acne (because not many acne treatments are safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding). Is there any sort of permanent solution? Here are some thoughts/situations I'm in: From my understanding, benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid are not safe to use while pregnant/breastfeeding. I'm kind of scared of
  8. I'm wondering if anyone has taken Accutane at a low dose for multiple years consistently? Brief background: I started on the typical Accutane routine (5 months, everyday, 80mg a day if I remember correctly) around December of 2010, my senior year of high school, after trying other treatments that didn't work. After about 3 and a half months, I injured my groin and it was not healing well on the medication. I was an athlete at the time, so I got off it (the injury healed very soon after, which is
  9. Hi all, I haven't read these forums since I discovered and implemented the Regimen back in 2007, but it occurred to me that sharing my experiences here might serve two purposes: it might (a) provide a helpful data point to those considering switching to the Regimen for the first time, those trying to troubleshoot, those worried about the long-term effects, and so on, and (b) provide some answers to a couple of questions I've had for a long time. I'm sort of skeptical that there's any univer
  10. Hi, I've just joined acne.org after reading tons of Epiduo related posts. I’ve found that they’ve been really useful for information and reassurance and so I’ve decided to write my own journal in hope that it may be useful for someone else some day. My History: I started having acne when I was 13. It started mild but got worse. At 15/6 it had become very visible and so I saw my doctor and he prescribed a Clindamycin topical lotion. This slowly began to clear my skin but the spots never disapp
