  1. Hey this is my first log which i will probably update every once in a while So im 16 years old at the moment, had acne since i was probably 12 and it has recently (this year) gotten pretty bad and irritating, with the cystic type popping up. I have tried many antibiotics which didnt really solve the problem but maybe kept it at bay for a while. Heres my cheek from a few weeks ago for reference. http://i.imgur.com/nkQMVHo.jpg I have been on doxy for about a month now but i decided it was
  2. Hey Everyone, This is my first post on Acne.org and decided to make an accutane log of my journey after reading so many on this website. To kick off this embarkment, I'm a 23 year old male who has been battling acne since I was 15. I've never had cystic acne, nor do I consider my acne severe, but I've always had moderate persistent acne. Like most people who decide to go on accutane, I have tried every prescription and OTC medication: Doxycycline Minocycline Benzoyl Peroxide Salicylic Acid D

    Personal Log!

Hi everyone! I'm making this log so I can keep a record of my quest for clear(er) skin. All replies, suggestions, etc. are highly encouraged. Let's hope my skin improves the way I hope it to! Current regimen: Date: August 28th, 2013 Cleanser: Hylunia's Facial Cleansing Lotion Prescribed topicals: Epiduo Prescribed oral medication: none Other medication: salicylic acid wipes 1%, BP 10% as needed (Epiduo already contains 2.5%, a concentration that's fine for continuous "maintenance" us
  4. Ok, I started the Regimen last week. I'm using the clean and clear foaming facial wash and a 2.5 benzoil peroxid cream with olay facial lotion for sensitive skin. I'm 15 and my skin has never been better!!! It would be better but i wear make-up every other day so that messes things up a bit. I was amazed how important moisterizing is!!! A tip for teens? DONT PICK!! I picked once a few days ago and I broke out!! Talk about one step forward two steps back -.-
  5. Welp, after around 4 years of being off of Accutane, my acne has returned. Not as bad as it was in my junior year of high school, but I'm getting more and more painful nodular cysts on my back and neck. I'm currently 21, a junior in college. I've decided to go back on Accutane, hopefully for the last time. My dermatologist has started me off on a dose of 80mg/day of Absorica. That equates to about 1mg/kg per day. I weigh 175 lbs. give or take. As of the time of this post, it has been 10 days
  6. Hello everyone! I'm unsure whether anyone will be interested in actually reading my log but if not, it'll be useful for me anyways! It's still early days, I'm only about a month and a half into my accutane course so I haven't logged since day one which sucks but better late than never, right?! I absolutely love this community because it has helped me so much in the past and I know what it's like to google things every 10-20 minutes and land yourself on this website reading if someone else is
  7. I'm on my third week of Differin .1 + Clindamycin, and I thought I'd write about my experience so far, which has been... well, not good, not bad. I'm used to treatments either working immediately, or breaking me out to all hell (also immediately), so this has been a weird limbo experience for me. Week 1: (Used Differin .1 every third night, Clindamycin every morning and night.) Don't know if this was an initial breakout or just a reaction to a night of heavy drinking, but I somehow got a t
  8. Hey guy's I'm finally on my 5th month and "1 more to go!" phewww... sure feel's good. Here is my story for you ladies and gentlemen. I'm just an everyday normal teenager who came across getting spots in year '6' and it progressed throughout the years to acne. Life went down hill I suffered deep depression, lack of self confidence I would hate to see my self in the mirror I would cry in mornings and bunk of school faking to be ill for days on end. I was always shy and felt as if
  9. Hey guys, im starting my accutane and wanted to let you guys know how it goes! Im a 15 y/o male thats 6'1 155. I started getting Acne when i was about 12 (yes) and it has progressed since then. Currently i have acne on my Chin, Forehead, and Back. I am on 40mg claravis a day (the exact same thing as accutane, except just a generic brand, so don't worry) lol Acne was getting sort of terrible for me being an athlete and such, almost always having sweat or oil on my face and it started suckin

    Yasmin log for mild-moderate acne

After being severely depressed about my face, I finally went back to the doctors to be put on something else. A little history first. I have had acne since I was 12/13. It was worse back then than it is now, which is weird because when I was 12-15 I didn’t care about my acne. It was never “severe” but I still had quite a lot. When I was 14 my mum asked if it bothered me and that I could have it treated. I didn’t care too much and I was like eh why not? And was put in zineryt lotion. That cleare
  11. Hey Guys, Today is my first day of a 5 month course of accutane. I will be taking 30mg per day for the first month and move up to 60mg after that. I'll give updates whenever I feel like it and i'll try to reply to everyone who comments.

My Doxycycline & Retin A Log

Hello All! Welcome to my Doxycycline (100 mg) and Retin-A (.025%) log! I will try to update this as much as I can during the next few months, and I hope that at least one person on this website (which I am new to, woo hoo!) will find this useful. Background Information I am a 15 year old, teenage girl who has had acne since 5th grade. My acne started out pretty light, but as the years went by it got progressively worse. When I was 14 years old, my acne began to flare up so I visited my
  13. Evening everyone. Having read many logs over the years I thought it would be good to share my ongoing experience of Isotretinion (accutane) this time round (second course). I was prescribed accutane four years ago (aged 19), it worked wonders for my skin and completely changed me. Four years on my acne has slowly crept back - although not to the extent of my teenage years! Now aged 23 I have now embarked on my second course (starting today), 40mg for the first eight weeks. What I wanted t
  14. Hello everyone, I've never been one to log things or to write diaries but as I know friends who have taken accutane a few years back, no one seems able to remember their experience so well. All I remember is nose bleeds, the typical dry scabs either side of their lips and a really sweaty forehead in any mild heat. (This is still happening with a friend who ended their course over two years ago. So I decided I would like to document my journey in hope it may help someone else some day!
  15. Background Story On My Acne To start, my face is definitely not clear but it is not severe acne with cysts. My forehead, upperlip and cheeks are filled with small tiny bumps coupled with approximately 15% cysts. My entire right cheek and nose is filled with blackheads that are obvious. I have no clear spots on my face and my chin has a few bumps too. I did the acne.org regimen but it did not help as soon as I went under stress. (national exams in 2 weeks) Basically, I had acne since I

    Day One

Hi! Today I started my 3 month journey to clear skin. I've had no serious problems with my skin until I started highschool (this year) once I started football that is when the majority of my breakouts and scarring happened. I cut my hair which caught most of my sweat.... Which after I cut it I noticed I broke out terribly. Last week I went to my family doctor for the first time to ask about my skin, and did some blood work. And BAM right away I got prescribed Accutane. No dermatologist appointme

    Caveman Regimen

Okay so basically you do exactly what the regimen is called. You act like a caveman. You let nothing (NOTHING) touch your face. Not even water. You may be thinking ewww gross but when you look at more information, you will see the theory behind the regimen. If you want a TON of information, check out a page called the love vitamin. Anyways have you ever felt like whenever you start using a new cleanser or face wags or whatever, that your acne either stays the same or gets worse!!??? I have! Okay

    Caveman Regimen Day 6

No changes and no new pimples. Really nice skin tone! Pimples are rapidly clearing up and so are scars! I'm hoping not to jinx it since I haven't had a bad day yet. I'm also hoping I don't get the dreaded dead skin layer! bleh. Anyways one nice thing is I no longer feel oily or dirty. My face feels really nice!! --------------------EDIT okay so it's now nighttime and I have a few new pimples...hope they go away quickly but they are tiny
  19. Hi everyone, So over the past few days I got probably 5 to 10 new zits that were on my cheeks. They were all pretty small, but I was worried that my IB was starting. But when I looked in the mirror this afternoon, my face was not nearly as bad as I thought it was. So, I think that some of the zits that I got just went away because they were so small. Still, not really experiencing any intense dryness. I obviously do have some dryness but it's not bad enough for me to be using mois

    Starting Tazorac And Doxy

So I started Tazorac and Doxycycline about a week ago. I have moderate acne that's persistent. I'm going to be posting logs week by week and before and after pictures. In the morning I wash my face with cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer and use that at night and then apply my tazorac. I am taking Doxy usually in the afternoon. I'm using the Tazorac Cream .05% and Doxy 150mg. Let's hope for clear skin!

    Pre Accutane 7/21/13

Hi guys. I keep getting new pimples!! At least they're not really bad ones, not nodular or anything. Just whiteheads (closed comedones). I always have little blackheads (closed comedones) on my nose and chin. So I've been reading about The Regimen and I really like the Product Guide. It's really helpful. I looked online at some of the ingredients in some products I'd been using that I had suspicions about, and of course they had ingredients that clog pores! I've been cleaning out my bathroo
  22. Acne has ruined my life I have had acne since I was 12 years old I didn't really care when I was younger. I was on doxycycline on and off for 7 years it helped while I was on it but it wasn't the cure. I tried changing my diet no milk no sugar nothing help. I don't have any friends anymore because I don't like going out anymore.People thought I was really weird because I have social anxiety now it's because of acne. Hello

Hello Guys, so I have started taking Accutane about 5 weeks ago. As I am very interested in the topic and have been reading a log of logs lately I thought it might be nice to share my experience with you. First, a little bit about myself. I am 16 years old, I am from Germany (so pardon any grammar mistakes) and I have been suffering under acne since I was about ten. I have had all levels of acne. It started out really light and kept getting worse until I was 14. Then it went back and for a fe
  24. So I've been dealing with severe cystic acne for a few months now. It developed out of nowhere. I've had acne since the start of high school but it's never stayed around long. Now I'm a 16 year old high school senior and my face destroyed itself right before school started. Not a fun experience at all. I have two large cysts on my cheeks (one on each side) that have no intention of leaving. I've tried minocycline and clindamycin but to little effect. Then Bactrim DS, which cleared up my regular
