  1. So the lemons have been making my face look and feel better but recently where i have my acne scars they have been getting red around it and im sure its from the lemons. I was trying to put on moisturizer but it burned really bad, (it did not make my whole face red, only around my scars) I have stopped using lemons for a while, and i will try again soon. Also, this may only be for me im not sure if other people have experienced this problem
  2. I have heard some say that when the use lemon/ lime juice they experience irritation. One thing I have found is the use of honey, preferably local, helps to reduce the slight discomfort. All you do is smear a little on the lemon/ lime wedge, or mix a little in with the lemon/ lime juice. Does anyone else have any other tips? Hope this has helped.
  3. hello mates! it's been about 5 days since i used lemon on my acne spots(PIH) and few bumps i had. after 3 days or so..i broke out in places that i thought was either cured or only a small bump. also, the bumps which were really tiny grew bigger and they are like hard milia now..although am not sure if they are milia at all. i'm certain that it's the lemon juice which has caused this..because i have zits and whiteheads or bumps only in places where i'd put lemon juice for 3 days. i'm
  4. I wanted to post here because I've battled with acne for over 10 years. I always wondered why my skin was breaking out. I tried accutane 8 years ago with great results, and it permanently got rid of some acne but most of it came back. A couple months ago, I drastically increased my water intake simply with a focus to be more healthy. I drink about 8 liters of water a day. I buy organic lemons and squeeze 1-2 lemons throughout the day and add it to my water. I started to eat less junkfood and go
  5. Hello all, I wanted to share with you something that has finally decided to get me back on the forum after many years. It's quite simple - lemons! I like to experiment with lots of things in life, and as an attempt at a part body detoxifyer, I decided to start squeezing two small supermarket lemons, and drinking this juice at the end of the day, before I go to bed. As you're probably aware, lemons are notorious for being strong, acidic, and a cleanser etc etc. A google search will g
  6. A little background on my acne story: I've always had little-no acne until October of 2011 when I had horrendous break outs on my cheeks. Prior, I'd only get pimples (whenever I got them) on my forehead and nose. This break out was not normal for me, so I tried ProActiv, Clinique acne solutions, and Neutrogena to no avail-- It actually made my acne worse! My little 'pimples' quickly turned into cystic acne. Acne being my #1 self-esteem dropper, I made an appt. with my family doctor to get a ref

  8. Ok, so some background: I've had acne since I was in about 8-9 grade (I am now in 11). I now have moderate-severe acne. Tried SA (didn't work and sometimes dried my skin), BP (worked a little, but not worth the dryness, Epiduo (worked a little, not worth dryness), Baking Soda (didn't work, dried me out) I just quit the Epiduo a few weeks ago after two months of trying. It was painful, dried me out, and wasn't worth the minimal results I saw. Coincidentally, around the time I quit Epiduo I
  9. Hi guys I'm new to this forum, and hopefully you guys have a lot of experience and can enlighten me with the proper way to apply my acne regimen. Background In highschool I had very bad acne I went from medicine to medicine, but nothing would work. The dermatologist finally took me off and made me get on acutane. I was on actuane for 6 months and I was acne free. It left a lot of scars unfortunately, but that didn't bother me that much. Skip forward 2 years later Present Acne wasn't a pr
  10. New blog so I can post photos! Duh! For your reference... this is me: Meet Natalie! Today at work...I'm dead. I'm so sleep deprived I have no idea how I'm still functioning. I ate and I feel sick. It's about 4pm. I'm ready to go home and sleep. I had to start this blog because my other one ran out of MB??? I don't even know. Ain't nothin' changed...Drinkin' tea...Workin'...YOU already KNOOOOW. photos with my hair down are last night and today with my hair up at work looking like death hah
  11. Ok so before I get started I just want all of you acne suffers to know that beauty is skin deep and you are beautiful regardless of your skin condition. This is my first time writing a blog so here goes, I have suffered with acne since I was a teenager and am now in my late twenties and still have it although its not as bad as before. During my younger years i was given cream after cream and sometimes antibiotics by my doctor. I also tried an array of face washes, toners, creams etc. None o
  12. I have joined solely to talk about this. I have mild to moderate acne, and I was wondering if anyone else has tried this kind of thing. Regimen Morning: Rinse face with warm water. Make pocket of salt in washcloth, dip in hot water, dab on face. Rinse. Wash with clinique gentle cleanser. Rinse well and pat face dry. Apply lemon juice to blemishes and to blemish prone areas, including acne scarring. Evening: Saltwater bath, at least 20 minutes, hold jawline under water (whe
  13. Ok so to start off i've had acne since i was 13 y/o (17 now). It was very mild at first but the last years it's has been mild/moderate. I've tried a bunch of stuff including the acne.org regimen (which didn't work btw). So about a month ago i think, i just couldn't be asked to need one extra hour every morning anymore and have a constantly red or over-dried face which the regimen gave me. So I started putting less and less BP on until I was literally only using very little of it as a spot treatm
  14. Hello! I just wanted to know if its possible to break out from the smell of something? I know I'm very sensitive to citrus and since cutting it out a lot of my jawline acne went away.. but my parents love to use lemon for everything, so the zest smell often fills the house. I find that even though I cut it out of my diet when I get saturated with the smell it still irritates my skin. I know even without the smell I would still have some acne, so the whole thing could be coincidental, do you t
  15. This is my story I had moderate to severe acne vulgaris when I realized I needed to do something. I was smoking a pack a day, lots of weed and every drug you can think of I took on regular basis and drank a lot to and ate nothing but mcdonalds and other fast food any and all junk food was my diet with a few 52 ounce sodas every day and absolutely no water and very poor hygiene. One day I was with friends and the looked at me like I was a monster and started treating me differently which was a re
  16. Hey guys, I have acne on my face and chest. Chest has been clearing up a lot more recently due to lemon juice. The acne on my face is mainly just below my mouth on the right and left side (in these two regions that have always been a problem), other pimples on chin, jaw region. Skin pretty much completely clear on rest of face (even if a breakout, very small, little redness, gone quickly). I've dealt with this acne for 1-2 years. I recently just started using apple cider vinegar on my f
  17. Like many of you, I've been battling acne since puberty (I'm 18 now). A brief history: I have oily, acne-prone, somewhat sensitive skin. I used the Clean&Clear acne line for years, mostly the 10% BP one in the purple bottle and sometimes the exfoliating one in the green bottle. I followed with witch hazel sometimes, Clindamycin gel, and Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture (now I realize it wasn't that good of a moisturizer). It kept my acne mild-moderate but I've never been without whiteheads on my

    Got Rid Of Oil...

Hi everyone, I just figured out that any medicine or over the counter product did not work for me. I started drinking warm lemon water before every meal and I noticed my t-zone was free of oil. I just recently started drinking tetley roobios tea after every meal and i hope that it will get rid of my acne. Now that my oil from my face is gone, how long until my mild acne will go away. Keep in mind i have been doing this regimen for less than a week so it works! I also use a gentle face cl
  19. Last night was the same mask as usual-- I tried the rosehip oil out finally, after the Argan and before the aloe. It's 5:55am right now and it's time to punch today in the face haha!! It's 10:25am right now...Work is KA-RAZZZZY. I'm going on my walk after I eat a snack. Yayyyy. its almost 8:30pm I'm going to lay down and rest I'm dead I'll deal with life tomorrow
  20. Hey y'all. Same ish as usual. Just working my butt off. For the past week or so, I have been taking my walk around the lake in the mornings usually at 10:45-11:45 or sometimes 11:45-12:45. Depends on how work is goin and if shit pops off. I've been getting good sun. The morning sun is the BEST. It's currently 93 degrees where I'm at. AND NO BREEZE LOL. I have not been putting argan oil on my face in the mornings-- just at night before I put on my aloe. So my routine for the past two nights ha
  21. Well, I'm back to using my Burt's Bees Deep Cleansing Cream face wash.. I couldn't be more satisfied. How could a cleanser make a woman so damn happy?!?! I will continue to use my homemade green tea toner as it seems to be calming my skin down and when I wake up I have fairly healthy looking skin (I'm getting there). My acne is to a minimum, and that's after BP and SA had their way with my pores! :S On another note, I can't wait to receive the samples of this Alima Makeup I
  22. I really just wanted to share what is working. I should say to start that I am really lazy, and I have ADD so sticking to a regimen EVERY DAY is only possible in short bursts before I forget. So if this is working for me I think it will work even better for someone more disciplined. And it's cheap. I drink 1/2 teaspoon quality matcha green tea powder 2 times a day. I drink the juice of 1 lemon a day, has to be fresh. I squeeze 2 lemon wedges into a glass of ice water with a couple packets
  23. So recently I have stopped using BPO, because it was exacerbating my red marks and moved onto natural stuff. But there is so much I want to try. Basically, I need to fade away red marks, prevent breakouts and clear pores. Preferably all at the same time. Here is what I am using right now: - Indian Healing clay masks with ACV (evening); - Manuka honey UMF20 masks (during the day); - Lemon juice (2-3 times a day for 15 minutes, want to try to leave it overnight); - Green tea toner with som
  24. Hey everyone! So I have a lot of hyperpigmention, and I was wondering if any of you have tried lemon/honey to fade the marks? I've heard that lemons have a lot of alpha hydroxy acid so it got me interested. I just want to know if anybody has tried it and if they have reccomendations otherwise for fading techniques. Ty xx
