  1. Hey people out there I am a 15 year old girl and I have been struggling with mild to moderat acne for half a year. I know it is not a very long time, but it has been the longest 6 months of my life, and i have never been more sad in my life. I have no social life any more. I dont want to go to school. I dont want to get up in the morning. I literally cry several times every day, so I am basically depressed. Luckely i visited a derm 2 weeks ago, and i was prescribed Accutane 20 mg. I have
  2. Hello everyone! I'm unsure whether anyone will be interested in actually reading my log but if not, it'll be useful for me anyways! It's still early days, I'm only about a month and a half into my accutane course so I haven't logged since day one which sucks but better late than never, right?! I absolutely love this community because it has helped me so much in the past and I know what it's like to google things every 10-20 minutes and land yourself on this website reading if someone else is
  3. Hello, I just signed up to this site after seeing many inspirational improvements with accutane. I would like to contribute to this forum by inspiring others to start the journey to help their skin out. I'm 17 years, Male, and just started my course of 40 mg a day a week ago. Day 1: (Before accutane) Acne on upper back, forehead, cheeks, face, chest. I have little blackheads on my nose, and some mild blackheads around my cheek areas. I have a lot of oil on my face, i usually wash my face tow

    Water Only Journey

Background: I've had acne for seven years. I got my first spot when I was 12, and now, I'm 19. When I first started getting acne, I should've let it be. Instead, I started using product after product. I tried all kinds of chemicals, natural remedies, and regimens. Nothing helped. I wore makeup for about a year, but makeup aggravated my acne. My face started getting very oily yet dry. My face also adopted a constant red complexion (not just cheeks and nose but entire face was red and the rest of
  5. So my roaccutane journey begins here. I have hesitated to take this but I though I'll give it a go , sick and tired of myself and trying to treat acne for 4-5 years. So Today 04/12/13 I have gotten my tablets from the pharmacy it's a 2 month dose , If all goes well I will receive another 2 month dose after and my treatment should be done in 4 month since my dose is high "70mg" wasn't so sure about that but I hope I won't get too many side effects and that I can carry on training. Day 1/122 :

    Day 11

Day 11, oddly enough my side effects seem to have improved rather than gotten worse? Has this happened to anyone else? This worries me. My dry eyes that were terrible just 2 days ago are now manageable, my dry nose is barely bothering me at all and my dry lips are mild compared to what they were 2 days ago. I know I should probably be extrememly happy but i'm more concerned that it isn't working as well? As far as acne goes I've gotten another little white head on my jaw line... nothing ma

    1 Month Check Up... Scared

Today was my 1 month check up. My liver function was elevated since last time... that makes me a little nervous. They didn't really say too much about it and all I saw on the sheet was that it said +40 ? I still got my prescription for this month I'm just praying it isn't eleveated too much and I can continue to take this for the full 5 months. Today my derm gave me 6 shots of cortisone. 5 in some larger nodules and 1 in my lip? The corner of my lip is really cracked so she gave me a cortiso

    Day 15 - Changes

Hi guys so I'm really enjoying this idea of me blogging everyday on my skin, its very relaxing for me and its a nice way for me to unwind at the end of the day! Progress: So today I woke up and it was my time of the month, sorry if this is TMI but I thought I'd add it becayse usually around this time I'd get a few more breakouts. I surprisingly didn't have a huge pimple anywhere, but i did notice a 2 or 3 tiny pimples on my forehead but theyre tiny, barely noticeable Also the big under the sk

Hard to imagine this was the end result. This is what dedication can bring!
  10. Day 1 - I am starting of at a low dosage of 10mg/day as told by my dermatologist. I just took my first pill right after a heavy meal as I heard heavy meals help the pill to absorb better. My routine consists of gentle cleansing, toner, and moisturizer day and night. I will wear a cc cream with SPF 50 if I go out. Day 2 - I have not experienced any side effects, nor has there been any change in my acne. My friends tell me to try rubbing raw potato on my skin, as it can help clear acne fast

    2 WEEKS ON ABSORICA

2 WEEKS IN.. Like in my last post I will be breaking this one down into parts. SIDE AFFECTS: Pretty much the same but getting slightly dryer as time goes on. I haven't had any more nosebleeds and the joint pain has gone down. My lips are very dry and I feel myself always having to apply lip balm or they will hurt. My face is peeling a little bit but that's just because my skin is so dry. My body is not that dry yet. HOW MY SKIN IS LOOKING: I think my skin is definitely purging because I've

    4 WEEKS IN

SO This is the fourth week into the process... As like my other posts I will break down this blog. SIDE AFFECTS: DRY LIPS AND FACE. I recently picked up this cerave moisturizing lotion and its like white goo. It works wonders. It works even better than than the medical moisturizer the derm prescribed. VERY DRY EYES RECENTLY. I've been noticing my eyes are extremely dry and they would water if I didn't put at least two drops of eye drops in each eye. In the hallway I would walk and it would

    A Little About My Skin

Hello to all, I'm 21 years old and I have been battling with acne since I was 12 years old. Back then, I only had one huge pimple that would surface and when I say huge, I mean extremely large and filled with gunk. People in my school would wait until after school while they were leaving in their cars to call me the most hurtful nicknames that they could. The most hurtful nickname was "rats nest,” and still till this day it has stuck in my head. Also, I remember being in class when I guy su

    Day 31

My dosage has been upped to 60 mg per day, so two 30 mg tablets each day! I'm super excited to up my dosage because I just want to get better as soon as possible! My skin is still dry and my lips still chapped, but other than that not really noticing any other side effects. Excited to see what 60 mg will bring! Not so many pimples are popping up as well, which is making me notice my scars a whole lot more. So that sucks, but hey, hopefully new ones will stop forming! Does anyone know good s
  15. On my last blog , I said that my skin is super oily and didn't itchy at all ! But guess what happened ? It was starting to get itchy on day 2 and today (12/5/2016-day 3) it was like hell to me. My skin was completely dried and itchy like hell. I have to go to school and I had to suffer tried so hard not to scratch or even touch my skin. I didn't know whether to use the moistreriser or not whenever my skin felt tried ?. another thing that came to me is the enourmous pore. Before i started to

    Day 5

Day 5 - Sunday 4th February Took 2 x 20mg pills after brunch. Skin has some dry patches on it, not sure if that is the accutane or its the spot cream that I have applied. Spot on side of my nose squeezed again this morning, few other little sore bumps around my chin and lower cheeks, but nothing major, will have to see if they turn into their usual big and sore selves. Feeling crappy still today but thinking I have a throat infection or tonsillitis, my mum read somewhere that accutane lowe
  17. I would like to share my accutane journey with you guys, and hopefully get a chance to let off some steam when things get rough. Background info: I'm 23 years old female living by myself. My acne is genetic (both my mother and grandfather was plagued by it until well into their 30's). I have had acne for 10 years, and after being prescribed several topical treatments I was finally reffered to a dermatologist. He put me through a course of antibiotics (tetracyclin), which didn't help. And so I
  18. Hello, You might be thinking "This guy is brand new to the forum but trying to give advice....what would he know" and you are right but I have been a long time reader. This site has given me hope in the sense of knowing that multiple people, no matter where they live have had the same problem I have been going through. Acne .... even the name makes me frown and I would not wish it on anyone. My name doesn't matter but my story might. I've been going through Acne on and off from 18 mainly sma
  19. This thread is for differin users to share and support each other whilst going through treatment. I am currently completing Week 8 and the experience has been both terrifying and challenging mentally and emotionally. I have had clear skin all my life until a few months ago when I broke into white comedones specifically on my left cheek. Understanding the science on how differin works (hence, the IB) and actually dealing with it week after week is completely two different things. I felt like I
  20. So, here's the basic rundown: I'm 18, around 60kg, and have mild to moderate acne. I've had it since I was about 16, and it's not horribly red or painful, but it has got progressively worse with nothing working on it. It's gotten to the point where I have been subscribed 30mg of Isotretinoin for the first 6 weeks. At first I was eager to start it, but I've had doubts about the long term effects, and I have so many questions and nobody to answer them! Is there any other hope? Will I grow
  21. Hey everyone. I'm writing this as a summary of my Accutane experience. I'm a 34 yo Male who's suffered from moderate to severe acne since my mid-teens. I know it's cliche, but I've done everything under the sun (basically all products) and very expensive food sensitivity tests and monthly esthetician visits. My acne would go through brief periods of clarity (although there was always a little acne) and then breakout quite regularly. About once a year i would have a MAJOR breakout where whi

  23. Hey all, Im a 19 year old male. Have moderate acne, some cysts and some white heads and blackheads around nose. Got prescribed Clarvis after antibiotics and a healthy diet failed. I'm going to try and record my experience on a daily basis. Just started Clarvis 30mg morning/30mg at night. Day 1- Right now my skin feels really freaking dry and its flaky everywhere which is good. I noticed a lot of the inflamation went down but theirs still a ton of freaking red marks and its a
  24. From the album: Accutane Journey (Zenatane)

Here's a comparison from about my first month on accutane vs the last month. The picture on the right was right before my initial breakout and the one on the right was after a long day. Pretty happy that I no longer get cystic pimples. I still get very small whiteheads around my lip area but my derm prescribed me a topical cream which has been zapping them away.
  25. Hi to whoever is reading this. I am a 22 year old female who has been battling acne since the age of 13. My acne was only on my forehead and my back until I reached the age of 15, at which point it spread to my cheeks. After high school, it spread to all areas of my face, back and chest. However, the acne on my face has always been pretty "mild", while my back acne was moderate. Even though I technically have mild acne, it is extremely persistent and never fully goes away. It also scars my face
