  1. Ok! So a brief history. I was a late bloomer with acne, it started getting bad my senior year of high school and peaked my freshman year of college. I had pimples all over my face, mostly on my cheeks, around my mouth, and my chin. They were those nice inflammed suckers with a white head you just want to pop. I assume the stress of going away to college had alot to do with it but I was a mess, and had a ton of scars. I started retina around november that year as a last ditch effort. My doctor ha

    Day 13

My first entry is written on the 26th of May, the 13th day I've been on Roaccutane. I only had the idea of documenting this journey today, but better late than never right? Oh and my dose for the first month and a half is 40mg per day. The first week on the pills went by pretty smoothly, no significant difference in my skin except for a little bit of dry, flaky skin on my nose and chin. My lips started drying very soon too, but I bought a jug of Vaseline to carry everywhere with me, and so fa
  3. Hi everyone, So over the past few days I got probably 5 to 10 new zits that were on my cheeks. They were all pretty small, but I was worried that my IB was starting. But when I looked in the mirror this afternoon, my face was not nearly as bad as I thought it was. So, I think that some of the zits that I got just went away because they were so small. Still, not really experiencing any intense dryness. I obviously do have some dryness but it's not bad enough for me to be using mois
  4. Starting day: End of week one: End of week two: End of 3rd week: (yes i’d hada nose bleed!) It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve started Rosccutane, and from now I’ll be trying to update this journal everyday for the rest of my time on the drug in question. Side effects so far: > Dry skin (obviously...) > Dry lips (obvious, again...) > Back pain > Dry/Sore eyes >Nosebleeds Wednesday 14th Feb 2018: had a small nosebleed at school. Lips have been fine,
  5. Hey guys! So first of all I have a little confession that I'd like to make. I'm already on day 40 of my Accutane journey so basically I'm going to start off this log with a basic summary about myself and of how the past 40 days have gone and then I will be regularly updating this log every couple of days, starting from today. Now for a little background info of myself. I'm an 18 year old Canadian male that has been suffering from mild/moderate acne since I was around 13-14 years old. But on top
  6. Stubborn person that I am, I picked on my skin. There was no inflammation -- I just had seen a whitehead that I 'know' I could remove and help me get clear skin---WRONG!!! How many times do I have to tell myself to NOT TOUCH MY FACE? Apparently a lot--but I will keep telling myself this until I have it ingrained in me. So that was 2 days back, next day, slight inflammation that didn't go full-blown, I had rushed to put BP, then jojoba and prayed like anything. I poked at it last night, and

    Week 1

Starting the Regimen, I no longer had angry acne like before. BUT I do still have stubborn pimples now and again, and my face has dark marks from previous spots. And I am a chronic pricker *sigh* I started with a lot of BP my first day -- I figured that my skin was used to BP and every other product out there that it won't be a problem. Thank God, it was true. I saw an immediate effect on raised bumps all over my face. They have settled down a bit after the first application. Skin stu
  8. 21 year old male Moderate/severe acne for years 30 mg Absorica Day 1: Took the pill last night, woke up feeling great. Face was a little itchy throughout the day but nothing unbearable. Lips are fine, no other side effects Days 2-4: No changes Day 5: A few big pimples I had have dried up and shrunk dramatically. Still no side effects to report, face is feeling tighter but trying to stay away from moisturizer as much as I can, don't want to over saturate my face, as the whole point of
  9. Hey everyone, So I have decided to finally go on the dreaded accutane. I'm in 2nd year university, and I had trouble with acne in grade 8 and 9 but took accutane back then and my skin cleared up for a few years. In first year it started to flare up around christmas time, and got progressively worse. By this past summer, my skin was about as bad as it has ever been. This was really embarrassing for me, and it made me hermit from a lot of my friends, not by choice but by necessity. I'm su
  10. It's been a week since I picked at the zit on my forehead, here onwards we shall call him Jake, and the wound's healed nicely. I continued with the turmeric-honey-cinnamon mask for 3 days total and started applying BP on Jake by the 3rd day. 4th day saw the Jake wound dry up, and make-up application was better. Overall, the natural mask might have helped lessen wound infection, though I really cannot tell, as I think my Jakes take the same time to heal. But what I did notice was it helpe

God help me, but I cannot seem to stop picking at my face. I have three new marks, one on my forehead, two on my right cheek, all because I couldn't stop myself, arrgghh. I hate having bumps, that's why I pick, hopeless... Ok - for the umpteenth time, I PROMISE NOT TO TOUCH MY FACE UNECESSARILY. I WILL NOT PICK ON BLACKHEADS STARTING TODAY. I will do it this time.

    Day 12

So today is day 12. Things have been going well. Again, I drink a TON of water and haven't seen much dryness besides on my lips which i apply the aquaphor and/or vaseline. The only thing that makes me kind of nervous is that two days ago I was feeling some uncomfortableness/minor pain in my life side after working out, kind of right where my ribs are. I wouldn't even go as far as to say pain but it was something I have never felt before. I googled it and it said that it could possibly b
  13. Well its been what, 5 days now and guess what - ive picked. Of course. Havent had a "picking spree" but will admit that I have picked. Yep. Failed yet again. Should have known. Honestly though, I did try. So here I am, starting over again with the no picking thing. Lets just try for a week. Lets see if i can go until Friday night without picking. Ugh its so hard though. So easy to think to yourself, "ok, no picking this week" so easy to give yourself false hope, yet so hard to actually do it in
  14. My Personal Accutane Log I have been recording a personal log in my phone for my own benefit when I figured I should share the information as it could be helpful to others. Brief History: I have had acne for about 10 years now, it started when I was about 12. It was quite mild when I was a pre-teen and slowly got worse as I approached my college years. I also have had psoriasis my entire life, so I'm quite familiar with skin issues. Throughout my teenage and college years, I have tried
  15. Hello, my name is Lina, I'm 14 and I think I had acne all over my face since 2 years ago? 2 and a half? Anyways, it's really bringing my self-esteem down and the fact that I'm overweight doesn't help either? Do you think it's possible to actually get rid of my acne even though I'm fat and I don't wash my oily hair every day? So one thing that I do A LOT is not only pick dry flakes (old pimples that are gone?) and pimples and such, but I also hold up my head with my arms which means my hands
  16. I'm going to start writing how I feel about my acne, the products I use, what works and what doesn't, and anything else acne related. Feel free to post your thoughts on your own acne, or give me suggestions on how I can treat mine. Background info: I am fourteen years old and have been battling acne for what seems like forever (but really at the MOST probably 2 years). I pick my acne to the point that they've become hyperpigmentation scars. I avg about 7 hours of sleep a day. I usually eat s
  17. I have just started my isotretinoin treatment with 40mg of Claravis. I am a 107 lb asian female, and scheduled for 5 months (or less). To start off, I have had mild to moderate acne since 8th grade. Although my acne is mild/moderate, and I know some may judge or think that I am vain for going on isotretinoin in the first place, it did bother me-my confidence isn't what I'd like it to be, so I didn't see as much of a harm in trying to eliminate acne or at least most of it. I've tried pretty much
  18. So, I started Accutane (Absorbica, to be more specific) at the end of July, 2014. I am 26 years old, 5'8",145 lbs, and have suffered from acne since 4th grade. This past winter and really, since 2012, I've had on and off absolutely horrible cystic acne on my face, back, chest, shoulders, etc. Basically anywhere you can get acne, I have it. I wouldn't have sex with my shirt off, refused to go swimming, slept in my makeup because I refused to have anyone see me without it since even I didn't w
  19. Allo, I just finished day 32 on the Regimen, and things are going fairly smooth. No cysts, just smaller pimples that may be deep rooted, but don't even come to a head anymore! Pretty cray huh? But, I still get red when I put too much BP on in the daytime, especially if I sweat badly afterwards at the gym. The moisture, in turn, reactivates some of the BP, causing me to go lobster mode. As of now I'm using only about a 1/2 pump of BP during the day, and a little over a pump at night. Also, I'm

    Day 20

So here I am about 3 weeks into the regimen. Skin has slowly been progressing towards being completely clear! I have 4 active pimples right now, 3 of which are mostly the result of larger cysts that are taking long to heal. I've noticed that using lots of benzoyl peroxide really reddens pimples that you had thought had mostly healed. Anyway the other is a small one on my forehead. Weird thing is that they are all on the left side of my face. Oh yea, I got pretty sick about 3 days ago, so I coul
  21. Not much new to report today. Skin is looking pretty good. The zits I had a few days ago when I started have flattened out, and it actually seems like the hyper-pigmentation I had when I started has faded significantly. So it has definitely been a successful first few days. My skin is still not really experiencing dryness, more of the same tightness after washing my face. This is pretty manageable as it goes away soon after my face dries. As for my lips, I continue to apply a lot of l
  22. Hi, im begining my accutane journey tommorow and will be keeping a journal so i can keep track of my progress and results. Im going on a low dose of 10mg to lessen the side effects. I will also be doing heavy lifting and strength trainning while on the drug. To begin, ive had acne since the 8th grade. It began to get worse and worse. I started by taking benzol peroxide which did help but didnt solve my problem. I then went ahead and tried tretinoin. This helped but also didnt cure. Ant
  23. Well after many failed treatments and scarring/hyperpigmentation I am finally on the "Accutane train". I started my treatment on May 12th 2015 and it is now June 26th so I am a little late on the log but better late than never right!? Here's what has happened so far. I am a 18 y/o male and weigh 165lbs or 75kg. I started on 40mg of Clavaris (Accutane) a day along with 2 200 mg a day of Bactrim. Week 1- Dryness occured but it's good because my skin was REALLY oily.
  24. WEEK ONE. Finally i figured out how to make a blog! Hi everyone, I am a 17 yr old male, i weigh 70kg and im roughly 6 foot, on a 20mg/day isotretinoin regime for 9 months, and i've decided to make a blog to keep you guys posted on how my low dosage goes, the ups, and the downs. First off i'll start by saying, it took me roughly 6 months, AFTER i received my roaccutane pills, of researching endlessly and going back and forth with it, before actually trying it. I had bad acne for a while
  25. *Note* This journal entry by no means represents an accurate scientific study of my 1 month endeavor. This personal experiment merely gives a rough estimation of my eating habits, behavior, and mood. Any statements that appear “concrete” only suggest a strong belief of my own and not to be taken as infallible. Consider the following for what it is: a strong personal opinion. Enjoy Day 1 - I've been off vitamin b5 for over a month. Acne is now inflamed, and red- mostly around right s
