  1. I'm sure you guys probably see these posts all the time but I felt that I needed somebody else's opinion on my personal situation. So recently my dermatologist prescribed me oratane to treat my acne. He explained to me about the common side effects briefly and the ways in which I need to take care of my skin during the course. I happily agreed at the time but it wasn't until I got home and began to do some research online when I began having some second thoughts about it. I have read how the

So my skin is VERY different from when I started accutane. For the past 2 weeks I have been moved up my dosage. RECAP-- (If you're new--read my other posts) -30 mg for 2 weeks -60 mg for 1.5 weeks--too much too soon--BAD Initial Breakout -30 mg odd days, 60 mg even days for 1.5 weeks ***60 mg every day for the past 2 weeks Moving Up Doses Had SOME Side Effects: ((Went from 30 on odd days to 60 on even days)) to 60mg every day. ***DO NOT FREAK OUT FROM THIS LIST--the dryness
  3. Hi I'm Mike, I'm new here. -I just wanted to stop by and share some of of the health problems I've dealt with since taking accutane in 2008. -Prior to accutane I was athletic, a sponsored snowboarder and in very good shape. I took accutane 7 yrs ago, age: 20. -While taking it I noticed my back getting really stiff, I discontinued but the damage was done. My spine has been deteriorating ever since. For the last 3 years the most exercise I can handle is a 30 min walk. No running, no cardio,
  4. Hello! So, I just registered and I hope this works. So, I started taking accutane on the 1st of January 2013. I'm taking 20 mg 5 days a week (Sunday-Thursday). So far, I've taken 5 pills and I'm noticing... side-effects, I guess. Yesterday, I felt pain in my joints. Today, I got chest pain... I know all these are side-effects, I read the informative leaflet. Those are not really what I'm worried out. What I'm stressing over is that my period is due on the 12th... and I usually get PMS sym
  5. Hello, a little background on my treatment. I took a cycle of Accutane starting in the spring of 2011 that lasted for about 6-7 months. I cycled between 40 and 60 mg. Too make a long story short, I went through the inital breakouts, lathargy, joint pains, and eventually my skin cleared. Accutane worked very well for me beside the joint pain. I am an ameatur mma fighter (martial arts). I was training during my treatment when I hurt my knee. I felt like the healing process took longer than

  7. Maybe I'm just getting old. Maybe it's the Accutane. It hurts so much in my knees and ankles and feet to walk after I've been sitting down for 30 mins or longer. I'm fine if I'm up on my feet throughout the day, walking around. It's only after I've been sitting watching tv or reading a book on the couch that my knees almost collapse underneath me when I get up. It's only started happening since the beginning of the year which is the same time I started the Accutane. Anyone else feel li
  8. Hi all! I have been on Spironolactone for approximately 2 years now, and have had very little side effects from it (25 mg twice daily). It has truly been my miracle as I suffered from terrrible cystic acne prior to starting this medication. Nothing had helped before Spironolactone!!! I am seen and managed by an endocrinologist who checked my hormones up and down, with everything being in normal range. In the last few months, I have noticed painless popping and/or grinding in multiple joi
  9. Hi all, I am a 24 yr old female and I've been struggling with severe cystic acne for 5 years now. Previously I was on topical treatments, years of antibiotics, and spironolactone. I am on month 5 of my first accutane course and have seen amazing results! The first three months were horrible in regards to my acne but I am very happy with my current results. I am on 80mgs a day and have discussed doing at least two more months with my dr. Although I have been super fortunate in
