  1. So I am done with week 3 and going in week 4 already ! time is passing by so fast which is a good thing while on roaccutane . So sadly I am in the bad phase now, the past week I had break outs and it seems like acne are taking longer to heal (or at least to puff down). The past week my nose was very bumpy and rough, it seems like the blackheads on my nose are coming out which made the texture of my nose very rough and weird. Even though I know I am not suppose to do any scrubbing while on ro
  2. I went to the gym a few days ago and my muscles are still hurting. This is very unusual for me and I've noticed a lot more aches and pains. Not to mention my back and neck hurt after sitting for a while. I figure this must be associated with the accutane as I've read similar stories in the past. The worst was this morning when I tried to blow-dry my hair; my joints (elbows) got so sore I had to keep taking breaks. I'm surprised the joint pain has happened this early and worried that is a ba
  3. I had mild acne and my doctor prescribed me Accutane. I started taking 20mg isotretinoin and just after 3 days my shoulder joints started paining. First it started on right then after a day on left as well. I stopped taking it immediately but it's been 4 days and my shoulders are still hurting. I am also starting to feel mild pain on some other joints as well. Will this be permanent? I'm scared.
  4. Hey everyone!!I've had moderate acne for the past 4 years and after endless medications and prescriptions I have built up the courage to go on Accutane! I've read so so many threads and logs and so many people have had great results! For the past 3 months this summer my acne took a turn for the worst after I got bronchitis and had to take a lot of medication (i thought antibiotics would help me??). Anyway, I've been even more depressed than usual and I barely leave the house so I don't pigment m
  5. Hi Guys!!! Help me please.. I am 21 years old. I have started using Accutane pills 30 mg. per day since two months ago. In third month I started feeling joint pains in my body. My joints were not bruised or swelled but there was a pain. While my body had a pain. Thats why I went to the doctor and some analysis were taken .Results of ANA( antinuclear antibody) was quite high (1 per 640).Doctor said that I can be a drug induced lupus. And my question is that:Does the usage of Accutane lead to lupu
  6. I was prescribed a cumulative dosage of around 14 000 mg over 11 months finishing Nov 2010. I had only minor acne, hormonal and persistent. I weigh 54kg./ = 266.67 mg per kg and am suffering severe side effects since including: Severe dry hair & hair loss - well over 70% and continuing. No regrowth 18 mnths later massive skin issues - severe dry, tight ashy skin, painful, subcutaneous fat loss brittle nails joint problems sleep disturbance dry mouth, nose etc Has anyone ever
  7. I began taking Accutane in September. I started out 40mg a day. The next month I went up to 30mg 2 times a day along with 10mg of Prednisone a day. I am 16 and I am an expierenced xc and track and field runner. I am half way through my second month and the only side effect truly affecting me is the joint pain. I went for a run today and I could not believe how bad my knees and lower back hurt. Never in my life have I stopped a run short due to pain, but this was unbearable. I could barely move
  8. Hello Everyone. Won't keep this too formal, but like many of you I tried Accutane, had a few minor side-effects while i was on it, like dry lips and skin, blood noses, dry eyes, soreness after sport, etc. Then when I discontinued Accutane, some of these effects left, but were replaced with other far more insidious side effects. In no particular order these included: -Erectile Dysfunction -Depression -Fatigue -Joint Pain and more injuries -Low Testosterone
  9. Ok so I never imagined I'd find myself writing a post like this and this is by no means a decision on my part to take Roaccutane but I just wanted some advice from some of you lovely people who I know have personal experience with this drug. I've always been pretty determined not to take Roaccutane because of the horror stories, side-effects etc. and have got to the point now where I've tried pretty much every other treatment out there. But this year instead of my normal moderate acne I've
  10. Hi, I've been on accutane for 3 months now, after a month and half my skin had completed cleared up. I don't have a spot in site now. The first nurse (I've never actually seen the doctor, which worries me) told me 4 months, the next told me 5 and now another is telling me 6. I'm a little bit confused as to why I have to stay on it for so long. My joints hurt so much, I now waddle and limp because my body is in so much pain. I suffer from eczema, but my body is now covered, I've tried so many m
  11. I'm at the point now where I think managing acne (and depression, but especially this) has had a huge, crappy impact on my life...specifically, ability to focus and energy levels (so, everything). In a given day, I drink four cups of moderately strong homebrewed coffee. (More.) I eat well, I take a multivitamin, I'm on 50 mg of Aldactone (have been since September 2009, weaning self off of it because I suspect it was causing hair loss, hyperkalemia, severe fatigue and perpetual muscle pain) a
  12. Hey everyone, As of today, I've been on doxycycline for almost year. About 6 months in taking doxycycline, I suffered a sternoclavicular joint subluxation on my left clavicle. I broadly assumed it was due to weight training and sports but I just couldn't really pin point the actual event that may have caused it, I basically just woke up one day with heaps of pain around my neck and clavicle which was later confirmed to be a subluxation. After the diagnosis, I assumed it was just a progressi
  13. So, I am in my second week of Accutane. Let me start by saying the day I started Accutane I had also woken up with a cold. SO, about my 3rd day on Accutane my cold just kept getting worse..well for 4-5 straight days my head was killing me, awful pressure and pain, the doctor saw no signs of a sinus infection because my nasal passages were clear and my face did not hurt (just he right side of my head) and by this time my cold had pretty much subsided..(the head pain started Friday) so the fol
  14. Hello, I have suffered cystic acne for many years and I've started Accutane on February 2nd as my last resort. However, 5 days later I had to stop due to the extreme fatigue and joint pain that I've experienced. It's been 10 days since my last pill, and all my side effects are gone such as dry eyes and fatigue, but it seems that my joint pain is still there. I was very healthy before accutane, but now I have trouble walking on the stairs. I've been taking fish oil for a while but it doesn't
  15. Hi, I am a female, 55 kg and have taken Accutane at 20mg for 1 month. I stopped due to joint pain. Six months after the course I am still experiencing joint problems and they have become worse. My joints ache after any activity, they feel dry and click/pop (I have never had clicking joints before). I have had Rhematoid Arthritis blood markers done and some of them came out positive but I do not experience the symptoms associated with it (morning stiffness, joint inflammation etc) I have
  16. i am recovering from post accutane problems, i did so by applying tons of grape seed oil (high in linoleic acid) to my upper arms (especially triceps where the red bumps were) and experienced muscle twitches shortly afterward. since then I've been recovering a little each day, i kid you not, nothing worked for years until i came up with this shot in the dark. it took two years for it to come on and it will take two years to go away, I'm hallway through and recovering everyday. good luck to you a
  17. Hey everyone! So this is my first post on the boards, so nice to meet everyone I'm on day 5 of the drug that hopefully will do what no other treatment has been able to do for my skin thus far. I have tried doxy, mino, and bactrim (all with retinoids) and each one has failed. I have also tried the regenlite laser, which cost me $600 and made my skin much worse. Currently, I am 18 years old and a college freshman who is desperately wanting clear skin. First off, I do know that accut
  18. I am 26 year old male, took 10 m accutane(roaccutane) twice a day for 2 month last year. Severe back pain along with joint, muscle, bone pain and shortness of breath made me stop taking it, and it's been 8 month off of the drug but the symptoms did not go away... Yes, it's become mildly better in the sense that I can now walk, and bend my back... my knees don't hurt as much as they did, but, i feel like all my bones became weaker and damaged, like they are so dry they hurt when i move
