  1. If you have acne on either side of your chin or lower mouth then please read this - It may not be hormonal acne after all! For the past couple of years, I have struggled with (what I thought was) horrible hormonal acne below my mouth, on either side of my chin. It would sometimes go through phases of being more/less fierce, but was usually very prominent. The 'acne' consisted of several lumps/pustules, some of which were pussy and some of which weren't, but it was frequently itchy and painfu
  2. I'm 21 and even as a teenager I rarely ever experienced breakouts. But lately, I've been getting tons of recurring white heads, mostly around my chin, lips, and jawline. Sometimes the pus is even yellow. When I pop them, no matter what I try, they return--and usually multiply. I've tried drying my acne out with plain Ivory soap, hydrogen peroxide, hand sanitizer with aloe, and even neosporin ointment in the hopes that it'd clear up any bacteria. I do have a few normal pink pimples showing up as
  3. Hi, i'm a 30yo male with acne around the jaw, chin, moustache, neck. I never had any acne as a teenager. I've had consistent acne from 23-30. Everything i read says it's due to poor digestion or, however i've tried probiotics at length. My cheeks/nose/forehead are completely clear. I'm completely at a loss. My diet is good. No coffee, very little sugar, dairy etc. Has anyone had the same experience? I'm told it's leaky gut but i'm yet to see a specialist about that. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi all! New user here I recently turned 26 and started to break out along my jaw line and my upper neck. I never have broken out like this before and I am looking for any advice to treat it. Also, does this warrant a trip to a dermatologist? Or should I be able to control it over the counter? Thanks!
  5. Hey everyone. I went to the derm. today and got a 25mg of Spironolactone and a prescription face wash. I am a little nervous to take the spironolactone, I didn't know it was a blood pressure med. I was told this wouldn't mess with me but I am kind of wigged out. Also, when I take this is there anything I should expect? If I stop taking it is it just going to come back if it works? I have so many questions! Please, if you have been on this please let me know how it is for you / any
  6. I basically only get acne on my upper neck, lower jaw area. I wash with cetaphil twice a day, keep fresh sheets and pillows, and I workout 5 or 6 sometimes 7 days a week including a sauna session followed by a shower. I eat pretty healthy, and take fish oil and a multi. On top of this I have even gotten back on the Doxycycline antibiotics and began using tretinoin. This is what I do for my skin. I understand that antibiotics and tretinoin are not a lasting solution and right now, they are n
  7. I made an account just to post about this issue because I know there is someone out there suffering with the same issue I had and IT IS FIXABLE. I am a 24 y/o female with dry/combination skin. My whole life, I never really had issues with breakouts, even as a teen. My only skin concern was dryness/redness. Like a normal person, I would sometimes experience breakouts (maybe one every 2 months and they were on the surface of my skin), and they would last about 2-3 days before disappearing compl
  8. I think I finally found a way to reduce my very stubborn hormonal acne. I am 30 and have been struggling with hormonal acne for as long as I can remember. I usually get them around my mouth and chin, and I get very oily skin in that area. I usually start breaking out at around 2 weeks before my period. Sometimes they get as high as my cheeks and some really hurt (Even recently I started getting cystic acne along my jawline). Unfortunately I have a very bad habit of picking at them especially whe
  9. Hello everyone, Last week i finally went to my doctors after suffering from acne on my back, chest and face for about 2 years. I have tried a lot in those 2 years in the hope i would cure it myself. I dont have severe acne, nor deep, but it is very visible and scars are mainly dark spots. My back is the most severe, together with my cheeks. I have tried Retin A cream for a few months, and it did not really help. Finally I took the effort to go to my doctor. He told me I had acne conglobata, whi
  10. Ok so... All hell has broken loose. Like literally, ALL HELL HAS BROKEN LOOSE. Funny. I know how it started though. It started with a simple hormonal imbalance through masturbation (sorry you had to read that, but let's be mature about this) and this is what caused it. Or it was the CeraVe PM Moisturizer that I tried (tried it on the same day of masturbating [once again, sorry you had to read that]). Ok guys.. I see my Dermatologist in one week. I'm literally crying everyday because o
  11. Hello everyone. I would very much like to get some advice or just any type of feedback on my problem. First of all I am 20 years old, male, 187lb(85kg). My acne wasn't that bad honestly, I had small spots on my forehead and sometimes big ones popped up there aswell, but my main issue was pimples around the lips and jawline. I always had something on my upper lip near the nose and the jawline acne started about 6 months ago. I do not know what caused it but it got bad very quickly. The main spots
  12. Hi guys, im 19, and since about May I've had cystic acne that's progressively getting worse. All over my jaw and cheeks I have tiny white bumps (looks kind of like milia) that will over time get red, inflamed, enlarge and after a month either go back to the original state, or leave really bad red marks. I've had cysts on my jaw and cheeks that have been there for over 6 months, and they're extremely unattractive. Aswell as this my red marks don't fade AT ALL. Im currently on lymecycline f
  13. Hey guys. So I've just recently given up on using any topical treatments perscribed by my dermatologists. I just don't see mantaining results and think my skin is just too sensitive (?) / doesn't respond well with most medications. And sorry if this is a little lengthy, it's my first post, just try to please read though. I believe my acne is hormonal, as it is only just below my mouth, chin, and jawline area. I also have acne on my chest which I have been improving with lemon juice. I e
  14. The last time I had a serious bout with acne was years ago. With age, and luck I guess, I haven't had to deal with it too much lately. Anyways, I made the mistake of buying a Clarisonic, which started to break me out. Completely freaking out, I started using harsh products on my face which left me super dried out. Then I got frustrated with THAT, and scrubbed my skin to get the flakes off. That must've really done the trick, because while I got rid of the flakes, I ended up with a rash/serious p
  15. Hi guys, This is my first post ever on this forum. I have never used this before, so please help me. I am a 19 year old chinese boy. Have been having just the rare pimple appearing since 16-19. But about 5 months ago. I started noticing that I looked to have swollen lymph nodes around my neck area. Also, I noticed some skin coloured lumps appearing near/below my ear, and around my jaw line. I still have the occasional pimple and huge zit. So I used BP and SA on both of them, including th
  16. I've had acne for years and I've used dozens of creams and prescriptions, and was thinking about going on Accutane but it was too expensive so it's not an option. I have pretty bad acne around my jawline on both sides and would like to know how to treat it. I exfoliate at least once a week with Paula's Choice exfoliant. I've tried lemon juice as well. http://i.imgur.com/rJwz87m.jpg
  17. Hey there! So I have dealt alot with acne over the past few years and I for once actually think it's getting better. I hardly have any active acne left and I rarely get new pimples. The only thing thats bothering me now are these scars/red spots I'm left with. (see pictures below) They have been there for about 5 or 6 months now and they don't seem to be getting any better. They're not inflammed and they dont "stick out" if you know what I mean, like the skin feels completely smooth. I
