  1. Night Routine: So I found the solution to the extremely uncomfortable skin problem. Someone somewhere (thank you so much, Sir/Madam) mentioned that exfoliating with jojoba oil before the treatment step was a good way of keeping dry skin at bay, however I was a bit worried that doing that would influence the effectiveness of the benzoyl peroxide afterward. Instead, I used a very generous amount of jojoba oil and massaged it into my skin before doing the cleanser step. I let the jojoba
  2. Today is a mixed bag. I don't want to jinx myself but I THINK that I'm getting over my initial breakout. Nothing new came to the surface overnight- no nodules, no pustules, nothing. My face is continuing to look less red and angry, and the five pustules on the right hand side of my skin have shrunk a little bit. In fact all the spots on my face at the minute look a little bit drier and a little bit smaller. I am, however, very well acquainted with all kinds of false hope and I've been told the p
  3. So it's Day 7 of my journey on Claravis (Accutane) and my acne is getting substantially red. It's starting to get dry but it's also smoothing down. My lips are really dry despite using Nivea hydrating lip care chapstick. I wash my face with Cetaphil Foaming Face Wash and moisturize with the Cetaphil Lotion. (You could find all Cetaphil products at CVS or a local pharmacy.) For make up, I use neutrogena & almay products because they're non-comedogenic, which means it won't clog your pores. It
  4. Hello, So I've been on benzoyl peroxide 2.5% that my doctor have prescribed o me for 16 days aside from taking a lymecycline 408mg pill everyday. So not until i've used la roche posay ( thermal spring water mist) "which i used probably on day 12" I experienced the next day itchiness on the eyes and around it!! I took an allergy pill but it didn't calm this down ! The next few days and I'm still applying bp before going to bed, i wake up with itchy face. Yesterday I went out in the sun and afte
  5. Hi y'all! I am on day 34 and have some new developments from the last couple of weeks. I now have muscle soreness for very minimal amounts of exercise. I worked out for 20 minutes yesterday and today I feel like I ran a marathon! I also have achy joints and some weird back pain going on- it feels more like a piercing pain in the middle of my spine. In addition, I have had 2 8-hr migraine headaches over the last 2 weeks that did not respond to water or ibuprofen. I left work early yesterday
  6. Sitting here, looking at these photos from 3 weeks ago, it's hard to believe how fast things have already gotten better. But man, do I look awful in these photos! I specifically recall how painful my jawline felt; it was like I broke out with the last breakouts in full force. Since then (since I am now on week 13 and back-blogging things for you) my jawline has been clearing up. But overall, the breakouts were simply more concentrated areas, but smaller/less painful cysts, and certainly not laye
  7. hi! i am new here. i have a HORRIBLE CASE of acne due to PCOS and nothing seems to work. i just started on birth control pills for my PCOS and hopefully it will work on my acne as well. and recently, i have started using BENZOYL PEROXIDE (BENZAC AC 5%). it has been a week and a half and yea, it helps dry out my pimples (but there are still new popping pimples) and i am grateful because the situation has improved even for a bit. but it really makes my skin dry but nothing that couldnt be helped w
  8. Seem to be getting more and more of tiny skin coloured bumps, many of them have stuff inside when squeezed. I'm wondering if this could be a reaction to something seeing as they come and go? I have a very big problem with picking. Always seems like things heal faster that way but my face is a red mess and I'm really worried about scarring. My forehead seems to be clearing up, the bumps are all over and the right side of my face is a total mess. Occasional itchiness. I don't know what to do!!
  9. I finally went to the dermatologist for the first time and it was faster than expected. He prescribed me Salvax (the foam) to put in the morning. And then Epiduo to take at night. It has been 2 days now and my face feels sort of irritated. Sometimes I fee like scratching it a lot :/ Am I supposed to be getting used to this? Do I skip a day and then go right back? and also, is it ok if I put on moisturizer? And if it is, do I put it on after or before the treatments? When I asked the dermatologi
  10. Never in my life i felt so down. Acne sucks. It is making me depressed and im crying while typing this. I need some words of encouragement. This may be long, but please take time to read, i somehow need to share this to somebody or else i'll break down. I used to have a very smooth and clear skin, but during summer before my 12th grade this year, i had a couple of pimples and bunch of comedones on my cheeks and forehead. They werent really noticeable unless you look at my fac
  11. I dont know if it's too early for me to even post anything lol but im little concerned so i always had to struggle with acne for the longest time *sigh then i started using clarisonic which made it quite a difference. it didnt stop me from getting acne but i was getting them less they were always cystic but i was free from whiteheads and non-severe blemishes suddenly i started getting these 2 small areas of tiny bumps on each cheek then they started to spread out like a monster and became b
  12. My wife started having some heavy acne for the first time in her life, so when she visited dermatologist they recommended Benzoyl peroxide 5%. After applying it twice, once in the morning and once at night, the following morning her entire face was dark red, peeling, it was horrible she looked like a tomato. As soon as that happened she stopped using the cream right away, it's been two weeks since that happened and her inflammation has only gotten worse. We had to wait two weeks since the local
  13. So I had a massive red lumpen mass on the right side of my chin and I didn't really know what was going on. It's crusting over because of the Isotrex and I didn't want to start to picking and investigating it too much (trying to embrace scab life right now). I was worried it was some sort of underground interconnected set of nodules but this morning they all seem to have come to a head and are five pretty well defined pustules, quite small but sitting out far enough on my face to give me a bizar
  14. Hi, this has probably been asked already by many people but I just wanted to be specific about what I'm experiencing. So I started using the Acne.org Regimen two days ago and I thought it was great but this morning I woke up with swollen itchy red skin under my eyes and I'm unsure whether if this is an allergic reaction or just because I might've applied the benzoyl peroxide too close to my eye area. Is there any way to settle the swelling and itchiness? Other parts of my face like my chin and n
  15. After a month of using the acne.org BP treatment & moisturizer with no allergic reaction, i introduced the AHA+ exfoliant to my regimen by mixing it with moisturizer and applying it before bed. This led to a noticeable complexion improvement. I then tried to apply BP then moisturizer mixed with AHA+ but this caused swelling, redness, and itchiness which took 3 days to heal. Then after a week i decided to try to alternate between BP and AHA+. The first night i used BP, let it absorb then a
  16. The horribleness of "the flaky period" is upon me in full force. My skin is really hard to ignore and I've been seriously considering how much scraping off my skin would hurt for the last few hours. I've never really scraped off my skin, so I can't really decide whether the pain would be greater than the itchiness (I'm also afraid that at this point, I would prefer the pain). I am really piling on the moisturizer and jojoba oil, but there seems to be no escape. My eyes itch, I think from the pro
  17. Hi all After two nights on the regimen (using Cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser with the BP gel), I have experienced experienced extreme redness on my neck (see attached photo). The strange thing here is that I didn't even apply the BP gel to my entire face and neck, I only applied it to certain pimples as I have sensitive skin and wanted to start lightly and build up a tolerance. Also note that I applied at night only (thank goodness). There has only been very minor redness on my face (wh
  18. Hi, Today I am starting my second week on the regimen and I am absolutely miserable. Because the first week I only needed to apply the treatment at night, during the day I was ok. However, once I put in the the treatment my face was completely on fire. The itchiness, the redness, the ardor, they were all unbearable to the point that I couldn't sleep. I've been using sleepi-aids and that's the only way I've been able to sleep. I did not start too fast too soon, I was very careful with the amount
