  1. Can someone please help me figure out what the heck happened to my skin? Because it is bad right now. And I mean really bad. Compared to how I once was, at least. I've been on the regimen for four weeks now (actually, was) and unfortunately my acne took a turn for the worse. I had to stop cold turkey because I cannot handle this level of "purging". (If that's what it even was.) I may have started the regimen too fast, because I was already using two full pumps. But I thought my skin could handle

    Redness on neck

Hi guys, I started using the Acne.org 11 days ago. For the first week I applied the treatment on my neck , where in I don't get acne on my neck. And now my neck is all red and black very irritated and it burns a lot. I stopped using the treatment on my neck , the burning has not yet gone. Please suggest me something.

    Is This Normal?

So just a little background...I have been using AcneFree Severe by University Medical for years now. It has 10% bp...and my skin has had no real irritations for a long time from it. Well I think they stopped making it until the new year and I haven't been able to find it anywhere so I decided to give Dan's products a try...well I washed my face a little while ago and used the bp and now my face is burning like crazy. I don't understand if I had been using 10% prior and now down to 2.5% why th

    Wool And Breakouts?

Not sure if this is the best forum to put this in, but I was wondering if anyone knew if the lanolin in wool could cause breakouts? I know the irritation can, and that lanolin has antibacterial properties, but could it also clog pores? Thanks!

    Painful Reddening

I've been on the regimen for 8 days now. I saw some quick results the first couple of days. However just as I increased the BP dosage to twice a day to start off week #2, I started feeling severe burning in the sensitive parts of my face (about an inch under my eyes right by both sides of my nose). This pain lasts for about 2 to 3 hours after my evening routine and isn't nearly as severe as when I apply BP in the morning. What's the reason for this? Has this happened to anyone else? I don't mi

    Need Help With Exfoliation

Whenever I exfoliate with a washcloth I'm gentle as possible but still my face gets irritated it gets really oily and I see fine lines that weren't there before...I even tried with my fingers I had same results chemical exfoliates do same thing..so I decided to massage gentle cleanser morning and night and no irritation but will this keep dead skin away ? what I do is splash lukewarm water on face then massage cleanser then when it's all off I splash face with cool water
  7. Hell y'all! I've read other forums and general advice from The Regimen's website, tips and tricks, etc., but I want to know if anyone out there is able to relate to my specific case in hopes of some beneficial advice. My skin in mainly dry/flakey along my jawline and under my chin, but as of this morning the dryness/flakey skin has progressed to my cheeks and slightly on my forehead. I'm 18 years old, and I have mild-moderate acne. I am on DAY 8 of the Regimen. - Morning: One pump of cl
  8. Hi everyone, I started using Differin .1% about five or six months ago. I had moderate acne that always got much worse in the winter, and Differin has done a lot to clear up my acne. However, the irritation on my forehead is killing me. Every other part of my face can handle Differin just fine, but literally every week, my forehead will go berserk and become red, blotchy, and itchy. Originally, I applied Differin every night. After my acne cleared up, I thought it would be a good idea to app
  9. Hi All, I'm writing today because I'm SUPER frustrated with my skin right now. I've just hit 9 weeks using epiduo gel this past Friday; I experienced an initial breakout during the first 3-4 weeks but I knew this was normal. It cleared around week 5, but reappeared during week 6. I was super discouraged. I finally cleared during week 7, but have recently began breaking out again - HORRIBLY. I currently am using epiduo at night (pea sized amount) about 30 mins after I wash my face with Cetaphil
  10. I did a blackhead extraction myself, which i know is fucking stupid and I hate myself for doing it, because now it looks like my skin is scarring. The areas where I was the most rough was on my forehead, nose and chin, and they are now a week later still really tight, and showing signs of scabbing. When I wrinkle my skin, the dead(?) scarred(?) skin looks weird. I've tried giving the areas lots of moisture, washing it less and with the outmost care, and nothing helps. The areas keep wrinkling we

    Skin Damage On Face

For some reason half of my face breaks out more than the other.. The half the had more breakouts is leathery looking, red and irritated constantly(especially after washing) and also has lots of scarring and discoloration.. I love the one half of my face.. But the other side is horrible.. Why is my face like this on just one side? What face washes are gentle but will clear and prevent acne(cetaphil does not stop the break outs)... Would a peel be good? Any spot treatments or anything?

week 2 regimen, adding green tea

So furious, spent ages writing my blog and it just disappeared!! Going to shorten this entry now. My skin has shown improvement in week 2. The original breakout has gone but a new one has taken it's place. Although not as severe, it's still quite bad. I have had several whiteheads, big red spots around my mouth and a hard cyst under my jaw. My skin overall is very red, tight, dry and flaky, as if I've had a chemical peel. Not a good look! Makeup definitely doesn't work but I can get away wit
  13. OK so.... I'm an idiot. Well, not really an idiot, but I honestly wonder why I did this to myself - and why I canNOT stop picking in a vengeful rage against my poor, poor face. I added extra glycolic acid to the parts that are in the picture as obviously red and messed up. The rest of my skin basically looks fine, though since cutting down to just 1G Pantothenic acid supplementing a day it is definitely getting oilier. Background info - I bought 70% Glycolic acid undiluted (extremely high pe

    Day 16: And We're Back

Well, I freaked out yesterday, but it looks like my skin is back to progressing. Most of the areas that were popped yesterday are either now red marks or smaller whiteheads, which I'm fine with. It could've been worse! Of course, my skin is also back to its insanely dry, red, and burning routine. Applying the BP is never bad, but for some reason when I put on the 2 pumps of moisturizer (and 5-6 drops of jojoba now ) my skin starts freaking out and stinging like mad. It definitely needs
  15. From the album: Week One / Day 3

WEEK ONE / DAY THREE (I was using Proactiv until it ran out and then I switched to the Regimen because Proactiv was too harsh on my skin.) My skin become even more dry. I was not using a moisturizer, as the Proactiv kit does not provide one. This made my skin extremely irritated and flakey. I noticed that my skin was "hardening", which can happen when you use Benzol-Peroxide, and it was becoming even darker in color. I noticed areas that were inflamed were no longer, however,
  16. I have licorice extract and green tea extract (both formulated for topical application and product mixing) to help battle the redness benzoyl peroxide causes. I use tretinoin at night but my acne warrants benzoyl peroxide in the morning. Problem: The 2.5% is too harsh on my skin. I've used it for months and it still irritates my skin to an embarassing degree. I think a less % of benzoyl peroxide will take care of what my tretinoin leaves behind. I want to mix the two calming extracts with the be
  17. ZINC OXIDE: IF YOU GREW UP IN THE 80′S YOU MAY REMEMBER ZINKA…. Back in the 80′s the zinc was not micronized so it was very WHITE, and sometimes contained the addition of a hot pink, green or yellow color! Life guards wore it on their noses and lips. Yes the 80′s did happen. So did Stussy, big shoulder pads and NEON. So why am I obsessed with zinc oxide? It has cleared my acne, healed my eczema and calmed my irritated skin while providing UVA/UVB protection. There are not enough produc
  18. Hi everyone! I shave every day as I hate not being 'clean-shaven' - I have very dark facial hair, but having any stubble on show looks awful on me (I'm v slim, blonde etc!) so I'm forced to shave daily! My skin gets very irritated - ingrown hairs, breakouts, redness, razor burn, stinging etc, so I'm hoping someone could recommend a good shaving gel/shaving cream that doesn't seem to break them out? I'm currently using the Nivea Sensitive Skin one, which is ok, but not great... I live
  19. Hey guys! I am becoming really worried about what is happening to my skin. I have been on the Acne.org regimen for 5 weeks. Every night, I seem to wake up with little red bumps. They are itchy at first, and when I itch them, they get bigger, more red, and inflamed. I have no idea what to do. I am afraid that the BP or Cleanser is triggering these bumps/rashes. I am also using the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water Cleanser before using the Acne.org cleanser. I would really be grateful if anyone
  20. Hi, I've been doing the oil cleanse method for 3 weeks now and I've noticed the acne on my forehead is getting worse and worse. I don't know if my skin is purging or if it is breaking out so I'm not sure whether to try something else or stick with it? But this is definitely the worst my acne has been. The acne on my cheeks does seem to be a little better though but my forehead is like 5X worse. I'm thinking of trying African Black Soap. Any advice? Should I carry on? Is this purging or are my po

    Day 8: Ouch.

Day 8 has proven so far to be quite the challenge. First, let me just say that the Regimen is still awesome. My skin is still progressing quite smoothly and at the proper pace However, my skin is definitely feeling the increased amount of BP, and it seems to be purging like no other. I don't really mean that it's breaking out. It just seems to be screaming, "EVERYTHING ON ME WILL DIE A PAINFUL DEATH." So, what's going on with my skin? Time to investigate: 1. I did have a mi

WEEK ONE / DAY 4 (I was using Proactiv until it ran out and then I switched to the Regimen because Proactiv was too harsh on my skin.)**I am NOT wearing skin makeup besides mascara** I noticed that the redness had subsided, however, my skin was still "darkening" and "hardening". Acne was "smoothing" out, but new breakouts were still occurring. Dryness and flakiness still occurred. Acne marks were healing and being dried out. Still a lot of hyper pigmentation.

    issues following a facial

Hey everyone. so I had a facial about 3 weeks ago. needless to say, I will not be getting another. I had a breakout and decided to go to an esthetician so they could get me pointed in the right direction with better skincare products tailored to my needs and such. I my sister had gone to her previously and she has alot of experience with acne. n fact, she had pretty severe cystic acne herself that she had since cleared up. anyway, I had a deep cleansing facial with extractions done. the extracti
  24. Hey guys, So after using the regimen for around 4 months, the redness and itchiness is really getting bad, especially a few inches under my eyes, which I don't even get the product near anymore. I put on the benzoyl peroxide near my cheeks and there is just painful burning at first and I get very red and it feels hot, and the redness subsides through out the day, and I'm not sure if I'm developing some sort of allergic reaction to benzoyl peroxide, or maybe dermatitis? I have some pictures to
  25. I have heard some say that when the use lemon/ lime juice they experience irritation. One thing I have found is the use of honey, preferably local, helps to reduce the slight discomfort. All you do is smear a little on the lemon/ lime wedge, or mix a little in with the lemon/ lime juice. Does anyone else have any other tips? Hope this has helped.
