  1. So i started accutane 80 mg a day back in september and in the beginning of october, i felt a pimple coming in on the bottom of my sideburn (where sideburn meets jawline). It hurt and felt tender, and i stupidly tried to pop it. It eventually swelled over the next few days and scabbed over. When I picked the scab off (sorry for being nasty) the usual pimple stuff came out, but i also found a hair in there, which made me wonder if it was an ingrown hair. It then scabbed over again, but this t

    Day 47

From the album: Accutane (Zenatane) Journey

So... who knew ingrown toenails were a side effect of accutane?? Not me!! This is a cleaned up picture of it. Before, it had scabbed over and the top was crusty but the part closes to my skin was still soft, meaning that it was, at that time, open or had recently been open. ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO FIX THIS... please? It hurts

    Day 63 - 9 weeks in

Well... I guess I need to change the description on this blog. It's not going to be a 4 to 5 month process... it's going to be a 6 to 7 month process and maybe even longer... S@!% I met with my dermatologist on Tuesday (today is Thursday) and she told me that based off of how badly the side effects are affecting me, especially the paronychia (ingrown nails), it would be better to lower my dosage back to 40mg a day. She's still prescribing me the 2x 40mg pills a day but only wants me to take th
  4. Now, I've been on the Acne.org Regimen for a solid three years and would consider myself an anecdotal professional. I currently am 99.9% clear and have been for about two and a half years (the regimen took about six months to fully kick in!) I could not be happier! ...Or so I lied. I love the regimen, but I'm the kinda guy that loves to try out new products even though the ones I may already use are absolutely fine and work perfectly. http://www.selsunblue.ca/natural-dandruff-shampoo.aspx

    Day 63

From the album: Accutane (Zenatane) Journey

So - like I've talked about out in my blog, I've been getting really bad ingrown nails. Typing this out right now is actually a real pain in the butt. You can see one nail already ingrown and possibly getting infected while the other one is just starting out.The process has gone: dried out corners of my fingers -> continued dryness and then peeling -> new skin is delicate enough to allow my nail to dig in -> inflammation and pain -> mild infection. Trying to keep it clean and relieve
  6. So I have pretty sensitive skin AND troublesome pimples. I also get a lot of ingrown hairs. All in all a very annoying combination. After a LOT of reading, I ended up with the following, which works quite well: - I use Benzac facial cleanser and moisturiser (Benzac is benzyl peroxide based), and Epiduo cream (benzyle peroxide + retinoid) - I use a double-edge safety razor with proper technique ie a shaving brush, shaving soap, followed by a good aftershave Apparently the problem with cartr
  7. No matter what, I get ingrown hairs/razor burn on my neck every single time I use a normal razor. I can use my razor fine on my jaw line/stache, but if I go for the chin or neck.. NOPE. I mean its not that huge of a deal but I 'd like to be able to be 100% clean shaven with no stubble for ONCE. The only time I've gotten no ingrown hairs was when I used a really old blade and shaved like a moron...somehow got away with perfect skin.
